Yea, honestly don't know what they were thinking with Tom Cruise in that role.

I only saw him in blue mountain state which he was amazing as Thad and then in the HBO max series as hawk or whatever. Wasn’t sure what to expect in reacher but was pleasantly surprised at how well he played the role and how hooked I was on the series.

I hope you never get cancer internally so you need external chemo therapy. That is one of the reasons people hate therapists and therapy. No, not all of it but a lot of it is new age BS and platitudes and, just like you just wrote, generalizations. Not to mention the fact that therapy, at least the kind of therapy Hollyweird talks about is nothing but talking and the therapist asking you over and over, "And how did that make you feel". Talking about and getting your problems out in the open is 90% of therapy but do you really need to pay someone $50, $100 and in some cases, $500 and $1000 an hour ??? Not completely knocking therapy, it has helped some people. All I am saying is that like everything else in life you have very few real, genuine people who want to help and then a shit tone of scum bags who are just looking to make a $ or worse of the worse, sleep with their patients and even those that do want to help, all they can give you are platitudes like the one you wrote and speaking of platitudes. Here's one you might like. "If you fail to plan, you're planing to fail !" Sounds profound, like all platitudes but means little to nothing. One final note on therapy. Did you know that psychiatry and psychology have existed for over 100 years and in that time, exactly zero patients have been cured. NOT A SINGLE PATIENT HAS BEEN CURED !!!!!! Patients are given coping mechanisms, either mental exercises or drugs or a combination of both, which neither are cures but a way to minimize their affliction so they can try and lead a relatively "normal" life but not a single person in over 100 years has ever said, "Thanks Doc ! I'm cured" I equate it this way. If you break your leg. A doctor will set the bone, put your leg in a cast and in 6 to 8 weeks, roughly, you will be back to almost or fairly normal. If you go see a therapist with a broken leg, he/she will give you a crutch and drugs for the pain but they will not cure you !!!

So they ignore all parts of life until achieve and achieve some more only to be miserable. Tom Brady and other athletes say the same thing. That they ignored their life to chase money and status only to get there and be sad and lonely. He’s lucky he had kids to tell him he wasn’t himself anymore.

Do you know who’s impressive in that story? The therapist, who was just doing his job, offered treatment options and suddenly had a 6‘2, 250 lbs Richardson freaking out and swearing in his office. Now that he is filthy rich he can do other things. but that's not to say that money won't make you happy, it literally will make you happy because money means you can afford to seek medical care, you can afford to take care of your aging parents, you can afford to no be stressed out about paying bills, about needing food, or fixing your car if it breaks down. Money Does buy happiness, but it does not mean you'll be happy all time, you'll still have problems but you won't be as unhappy as you were when you had no money. Money literally does buy happiness.

The problem is not being rich by itself. But being rich by aiming at the future. You should try to conquer $ while doing what you like, being yourself and not sacrificing too much of your here-and-now in order to achieve some ideal goal. Money by itself only buy protection (shelter, food, medic) but not happiness. I can buy entertainment: Video games, travels, hookers, false friends, but its all just serotonin, its not real and it wont fulfill long. First one need to find himself/herself and only then seek things outwards, otherwise its a trap. Thats what he is trying to say imo.

The real problem you're likely having with insurance isn't that private healthcare is better than public, it's that when you were healthy enough to work, you weren't as dependent on insurance to function. I know a lot of people hear that and really want to argue just how much they used their private healthcare, but it's not the same. Using an HMO or PPO around your work schedule means that you had the options to at least put things off or schedule them around your work. The coverage you needed was only as urgent and present as those problems which, most of the time, could be put off. Now that you're injured/disabled, you have omnipresent problems that dictate more of your life. Without knowing if you have either Medicaid or Medicare, it's a bit hard to say for sure how bad the public insurance you have is (I'm on Medicaid and it's *not* great; it's better than nothing - and my previous PPO - but Medicare is *much, much* better) but hopefully, you're advocating for expanding public healthcare, because it's critical to the people who have it.

I had a straight male actor friend there, needless to say, against his consent, was drugged and s/assaulted by a well known male producer. It left him jaded & he left HW as well. He was starting to do rather well in his career so it was sad to see somone who came so far and quit because he couldn't dissociate his experience with the rest of the "industry". And Hollywood is unfortunately rife with those kinds of stories. Dime a dozen. I saw too much of it.. that it became pervasive to me, as I was working in it myself. I was just a little older and wiser, and paid mind to guard my heart. Most people don't do that. Most people will do ANYTHING to be famous. I hate that environment.
