Same status as you Jon and the last thing I would also be doing is searching for a stream of a daytime TV news type show unless there was something significant of national/international importance - Campbell up for war crimes, that sort of thing. IMHO ITV's collection of material is pathetic compared to Channel4. For example not a single movie last time I looked. That they have got this professional liar presenting for them just shows the depths they have sunk to and clung to. Richard Madeley seems to have matured very well so that won't be sensationalist enough an appointment for them. Richard would be too respectful to guests. Somebody obnoxious is perfect though. Sadly a lot of people do seem interested in watching/listening to that sort of thing. The most important thing I have got to say on this, however, is the matter of how appropriate such an appointment is on a mental health awareness week. This man claims to have suffered from depression and has had the gall to plug it on national media - don't put it past him to use that opportunity once again. Perhaps Campbell should stop and think about all the people who his government put through the mill with the introduction of the draconian Work Capability Assessments contracted out to Atos Healthcare some of whose directors had already been sent to prison in France for Medical Negligence. People died through them in Britain too but there seems to be no accountability in parliament any more here. In a week when a case has been brought against the DWP for a benefits related suicide with 28 departmental errors, my belief is that this appointment is entirely deliberate to rub peoples' noses in it just like when they interviewed Rod Humphris, the landlord of the Raven pub who threw out the Labour Party leader Keir Starmer recently. They invited this bloke on to their show and did a hatchet job on him. I can only imagine how much worse this might have been with the master of spin in charge. I wouldn't touch it with a barge pole.

I sometimes watch it cos I watch the minimum amount of bbc I can. I too can't stand Suzanna Reid and wish she'd move on and take Adil with her. Also, as much as I feel sorry for Kate whatshername, it hasn't taken her long to cash in on her hubby's covid nightmare with at least one documentary already shown and a book deal in the bag.
