Albert Reading - Acid Man! This is the first part of an interview Albert gave about 'Mad' Frankie Fraser for a TV prog called 'Mad Frank'. Albert talks about Frankie Fraser, The Richardson Brothers, Roy Shaw, Joe Pyle & using acid in a fight! Interview by Liam Galvin & Yvette Rowland This has been shown on KZfaq before but has been re-edited & the quality upgraded as was such a popular upload.

I knew Albert back in 1989/90 when his then Missus ran a pub, the Horn of Plenty, a stones throw from Mile End Underground station. And then later when they took over The Merry Fiddlers out in Dagenham, Essex. I just worked the bar. He was a quiet sort, never drank alcohol (took speed though) and always pleasant enough. You'd never guess his reputation by looking at him. I dont hink he mellowed, I think he just got older and wiser. RIP Albert.

For a man his size, what he lacked in size, he made up with heart and ferocity, like he said, he were'nt proud of the acid incident, but sometimes, a dig ain't sufficient. Violence is lasting and sends a warning to others, who may have their eye on you, it's good publicity in that world, it would make you think twice before wanting a bit of Albert. Who was always fighting for the underdog.R.I.P.

If Albert was under pressure, from what people have said, he would do whatever he needed to do. So maybe Sykes would have put it on Albert and Albert realised he was losing, he may then pick up the nearest thing to him and put it into Sykes neck. There are good fighters and then you have ruthless geezers who will do anything to win.

Albert's was an evil man, men like him shouldn't be celebrated. But if you where just a normal fella going about your day he would leave you alone. I've heard stuff he's done that wasn't in his book, from the older fellas in East and south London. The old school like Albert had no morals or limits once you started something with them. Still very interesting to listen to though.
