If you mean easier by taking a course, passing the course, having a background check completed, being approved for your firearm license application, then receiving your license 3-6 months later, being entered into a database of being a firearm license holder, going to a store to buy your firearm and having your license number be recorded in having purchased a firearm...then sure, it's easier.
