A very quick look at my brand new Aldi bandsaw. It's excellent!
Things I failed to add are that it's 550w (for 20min then down to 420w). The base plate is cast, not pressed and feels great. Also it's 2 speed. this is the first speed around 600rpm but there's a second speed around 900rpm. This can be changed by moving the belt pulley which connects the motor to the bottom wheel.
It's a rebadged Scheppach HBS261 which is available in Screwfix / Toolstation for £230.

Good video mate, shame one day after you uploaded Aldi already sold out on line. I am after one and that would be a bargain.

Yea I believe so. I pre-ordered and it arrived with me about 3hrs before I uploaded. They do sell out quickly these days and that was a particularly good bargain. @@sawdustandsurvival thanks, I'll keep an eye on. I've now subscribed with Aldi DIY special offers so hopefully should get an email from them. Or perhaps Screwfix or Toolstation might do good Black Friday deal but don't think it will be as cheap as Aldi..

Just for info, there's ONE that's come available to buy on the Aldi website! Grab it while you can! They must have found one or had an unopened return.

Hi mate , I've got the same bandsaw, However I've noticed its not cutting straight , there seems to be a curve when i cut wood , maybe its from the blade bending to the left or right. Do you know what's causing this? I reckon i need to set it up a bit more, Thinking tension or ive got bearings wrong. as the blade doesn't touch the bearings

In terms of setup I'd say to check out the video I link at the end of this comment. I refer to it in the video but in summary it's a case of placing the blade correctly on the wheel, then setting up the bearings so theyre as close to the blade as possible without touching, whilst ensuring that the teeth never touch the bearings so you dont spoil the teeth. It's basically about making sure that blade is supported. I'm about to post a video on my Aldi tools fans Facebook group that I'll also link below (the quality isn't good enough to put on here and only relevant to successful buyers of this bandsaw). In summary you want the right blade for the right job. A less deep (6mm ideal) blade for curves (6-8tpi) and if you want to do long rip cuts, a 12mm blade with 3or4 tpi for long rip cuts. kzfaq.info/get/bejne/mN6GrK6kx9vbioU.html facebook.com/groups/2328047180651739/?ref=share

How do. You measure the blade to buy a Better one or is there a code

I'm sorry I've just seen this. I recall that there was info on the Tuffsaws website. They were really good with me. A blade snapped on the weld and they replaced it without fuss.

The biggest downfall of this saw is the blade changing, they really didnt think about that too well.. You actually have to remove half the table just to get the blade off.. Even a table saw could change a blade faster than this ..
