Aldi also do vegan "fish" burgers, spicy and lemon, which are pretty damn good. I grew up in Grimsby so as a kid had fish several times a week, at least twice, but often a out 4 days out of a week we'd have haddock, cod, skate, tuna, fishcakes, but I haven't had real fish in about 24 years, so to find the Aldi vegan fish range is pretty good is a treat.

Garlic sauce would be good on the tempura and southern fried one, and ketchup on the hot&spicy.

Hello Keith mate, i'd have to agree the Hot and Spicy looked by far the most appetizing, but you can't go wrong at the price as they all looked quite good, but we all know you can't go wrong with a bit of 'Hot n Spicy' hahaha 🤣🤣🤣🤣 anyways another interesting review 👍

Had a good laugh about the burnt cobs. Its easily done. Good review Keith and pollock is probably the worst fish you will every eat, just like tasteless cotton wool 🤢

I’ve always liked pollock. It’s also to be encouraged because it’s much more sustainable than cod (and cheaper). I tend to get pollock fillet fish fingers as I find they have more taste than cod anyway, and the same sort of flakiness. They also have the advantage of being much cheaper, so it’s win-win for me. Haddock is my preference though - chippy or elsewhere.

Hi Keith. An interesting review today. I'd go with the tempura burger as it has less coating compared to the crumbed burgers. Aldi here in Australia did have the southern fried flavour but as a fillet only, not the burger shape. It didn't last very long, because all the flavour was the coating, not the fish. Mmmm don't you just love that charcoaled brioche aroma 😕 Cheers Keith 👍🤤😀

I have seen these in Aldi I personally would not buy them there misleading they don't tell you on the front of the box what fish is used which to me means they are pollock and yes there pollock in small print on the back of the box. Pollock is tasteless and horrible you may as well put some rolled up toilet roll in breadcrumbs and fry that the taste will be exactly the same.
