The sex scene with Guts and Casca is one of the most beautiful moments in Berserk. It's a scene that represents love that many people don't consider. It's because they both do something that people struggle to do even now; accepting someone at their most fragile, sensitive state, and embracing them completely. They both realize how much shit they've been through, and I always get emotional thinking about how wonderful it is for two people to be so open with one another. Love to many people is about taking care of and cherishing each other. While I agree, I always think the best kind of love is one where you can show your scars, and know they can show theirs back.

Yea, I think the rpe of Casca was revenge on both her and Guts. Griffith expected them to be devoted to him (especially Casca who had always been on his side no matter what). The last "dream" or thought of a normal life that he entertained before he went full eclipse was of Casca taking care of him-even after his horrific injuries from torture. But even she, who had never forsaken him, had finally moved on to pursue another life. It was like he truly believed he owned these people and the fact Guts and Casca dared to have something beyond him was the last nail in the coffin. His last and longest standing "possession", Casca, had left him.

She appeared less hurt by Griffith's declaration to the princess. She is the only one to see the true face of griffith. And I ask myself if in the unconscious of griffith symbolically when he transforms into a suprem demon and rape her to makes suffering gust, and casca for their relationship but also because he has to destroy the weak part of himself, and has to destroy every witness of this weakness, so he destroyed casca herself.

Casca was a waifish and meek child before meeting Griffith, and afterwards became a near-vegetative husk afterwards.

Casca, to this day, is one of the few characters I've ever cried for. I can painfully relate to her self-worth issues and dependency to point where I absolutely hated her the first time I read the manga. (At a part of my life I'm not proud of) yet when a certain event in my life occurred. When I went back to reading- I broke down in tears three times for her. As she so DESPERATELY wanted any semblance of validation from someone who'd throw her away without a second thought if it meant his "dream". Giving so much to a person whose neither worthy nor cares. It broke me to see her do it all, Casca was basically me at the start of the story. I wanted to come off as strong ,smart, and a "don't need no man" tough-yet deep down I was nothing but dependent. But it really helped in examining myself and who I really am. Casca is one of my favorite characters in Manga ever. And I swear to you that's never going to change.

I was just about to post the same thing... With Judo and now Casca, can't hold my tears.. I've only read the series last year, but damn in a year this is the only manga that made me buy 38 volumes in 8 or 9 month. I just could'nt hold myself to keep going in the series. And as i read the last chapters, getting back in the first part of the story and discovering that i haven't forgot every single one interaction make me feel weird, happy, sad, and so on...

When I read Berserk, I came for the gore and creepy demon shit that everyone talked about, but stayed for the story and drama. Most shoujo manga's don't have such good romance and character development as Berserk. It came to the point that I love every single character in Guts's new group. Guts is the most kind person ever, that is what I LOVE about Berserk. It shows a main character, a guy that is broken and sad, but is allowed to show how weak and insecure he really is, he was like a dog, a people pleaser, who did everything Griffith said for a few kind words of approval from him, just like he did for Gambino. But he is still pushing through and is still allowing other people to enter his heart, he is still trying to love, and that is the hardest thing ever to do after being betrayed like he was. Guts is a truly kind and emotional person, and Berserk let that kindness shine. Not many male characters have been allowed this, sadly. And his love for Casca is the purest thing I have read about in a long while.

Berserk started when guts was at his lowest. A man hell bent on revenge at any cost. At the end, it shows him as a changed man, still scarred from the experiences that harmed him but knowing he has the power to help others like he would've needed. Rip miura he created one of the best characters to ever exist.

For many years I've had a this incomprehensible hate for Casca, depite the fact Berserk being one of my favorites mangas. I've always thought I didn't like her because the way she acted in the first place or her weak spirit, but even after becoming a better person and gaining a noticeable development, I still couldn't digest her presence and her importance. Then it struck me, I dislike her because she reminds me perfectly of how I used to be in my teenage years, and I hated myself at that time. In the end, I don't believe I will ever like Casca, but at least I can understand why I felt that. Maybe I'll grow to love her one day. Great video.

Anyways, Alec hits the nail on creating content with passion and attention to detail instead of striking out after low hanging fruit, cheap like / subscribe / share / comment-type content that will undoubtably become popular (think Minecraft stuff, Sword Art Online stuff, Logal / Jake Paul analysis, etc.) More creators need to realize that making top notch content, passionate content, content with extreme attention to detail, and the content they TRULY want to make and/or see more of on KZfaq WILL be rewarded for making unique content like that instead of always trying to ride trends, do what everyone else is having success with, and chasing after stat #'s and popularity.

You know i was kind of a fool to nlt think of this at all. I've re-watched Berserk numerous times and read the manga in its entirety(well to its most recent 3 years ago) and i never even thought about how Caska might have felt about Griffith's speech as well. The idea that her too will never be judged as an equal to the one and only person she respects so much she's willing to die for him; the person who even after he got arrested she STILL holds his banner in his honor fighting on in an attempt to save him one day. All this for a person who she knows will never see her actions as worth of equal respect, and Griffith's final act of raping her just solidified his contempt for her(and Gutts of course)
@catastrophucked6 жыл бұрын
The contempt was aimed solely at Guts. Casca was literally just a means to demonstrating that contempt and displaying of power.
@n5435766 жыл бұрын
I disagree, Griffith saw that Gutts and Caska were together and when he pushed himself on her trying to take advantage of her, but unable to(potentially as a means to hurts Gutts i think) you can kind of see his resentment that he was at her mercy as seen in his dream about what it would be like being taken care of by Caska. Griffith's contempt was not only directed at Gutts but Caska as well (potentially others but for sake of the argument ill just leave it there)

Casca after Eva Heinemann is a character that i relate a lots and probably is the reason why i skip reading berserk for a long time . It's just traumatized as i am a woman who's good at math and grow up in an asian country where girl aren't encourage to be so. Every math contest is like surviving in a men's world lol. And as i has finally come to a more equal country, here, i got sexual harassed several times which lead to my second failed suicide. So you can say that i am those person who desperately need Casca's happy ending. It's unrealistic though but for a character that represent myself, i just don't want to be in her place, in that place again, i want to believe that people can move on, can fight back and stop being a victim. But well, what can i say, berserk is seinen which is marketed for men so it won't value women that much to give casca a happy ending (at least she is relatable and has good development unlike many other shounen/seinen ( *cough* naruto *cough* ), even the reader won't think about her that deep except you (which i have to thank you a lots). So, i bet she's gonna stay this way, maybe forget everything is better, not everyone can survive throught that much. It's an amazing analysis from you again anyway !

You know I look at a character like Casca and I do compare myself to her her need for validation from others did hit A cord with me when I was younger, but after some things happen that I prefer not to get into as they are rather depressing I will say that I just got kicked down so hard by life that I stopped caring about comparing myself to the yardstick that other people would hold me to and instead focused entirely on snapping that yardstick over their heads as brutally as possible because I have since learned how not to give a shit what people think about me and find worth in my own being. What I'm trying to say in my roundabout way is she eventually learned how to hold herself in esteem without the framework of anyone else's views on her and that is important for people to learn honestly I think it's a lesson that we as a society have really forgotten. We forgotten how to value ourselves and instead, value the opinions of others rather than first working on ourselves. A sad notion and a worrying prospect.

I think Griffith's treatment of Casca after she had gained a real new confidence in herself. A person close to me was as fragile selfish and possessive as Griffith and that person would grow a dependency in others in order to feel complete. But ultimately he also was dependent on those other people so when they grew confident and left him he would try to destroy them. This behaviour is seen also in Griffith when he sees Guts and Casca being close to eachother. I think he deliberately tried to make Casca leave Guts by falling on her when she changed his bandages. WHen he couödn't separate them that way, he used the eclipse to rape her and destroy her as "punishment" for "abandoning" him.
