If the starter does not twist and the retractor relay does not click in the winter, then everyone blames it - but it's not guilty! DO NOT HESITATE to change the starter retractor relay or the starter as a whole, since the starter has refused to turn on at once because of the lack of a click of the retractor relay, so that not everyone knows about it and because of ignorance the working retractors change.
For the same reason, the starter refused to turn on in the winter and I - the retractor did not clink. And in the course of eliminating the reason, I recorded this video to share it with you. Video tried to remove as much detail as possible in order to highlight all the nuances of the starter's work and malfunctions, and it was clear what's what. I hope it turned out. But the operation of the starter was restored without the replacement of relays and parts - that's for sure!
Briefly, the reasons for the failure of the retractor relay are dirt on the internal parts of the starter - a mixture of grease and dust from the worn clutch disc, as well as poor contact with the mass of the parts of the starter housing. Already at the time of downloading the video on KZfaq, I remembered that with the previous disassembly of the starter and its prevention, more than two years ago, I smeared the core (armature) of the retractor relay - that's where the frictional dirt comes from! Do not lubricate anything in the starter except the bushing in the box!
Also, the cleaning of the flanges of the stator parts and the starter covers must be done at every convenient opportunity - there will be good contact with the mass and the starter will twist as new - checked!
