Alert Bay, BC (Freediving, Spearfishing, Treasure Hunting)
Epic is the only way to explain the amazing time spent diving and exploring around Alert Bay, British Columbia. Schools of yellowtail rockfish, massive kelp beds in crystal clear water and some cool finds. I also spotted my first silver spotted sculpin! Dungeness crab, pink salmon, beautiful sights...doesn't get much better. I also dove off Vancouver Island and scored big with a Puget Sound King Crab and we cooked it up with some greenling ceviche.

I’m still surprised your channel is so small at the moment. Your content is well produced and a pleasure to watch. There is just a cadence to your narrating that I find comforting. Coastal BC is near and dear to my heart and I feel like I’m there with you. Keep on doing you bro, much love!

Haha thanks dude! And it's all good, my content is pretty niche stuff. I do it for the love so my audience size is secondary. I'm stoked that people watch the vids though and the fact 3000 people have subbed still surprises me. Cheers!

Thanks man, happy to showcase the PNW. Sounds like cold water diving might be your final frontier! I've yet to dive it, but Google Browning's Pass on KZfaq. God's pocket. The colors are mindboggling. BC has some of the best cold water diving on earth. That said, I'd love to explore Florida. My friend owns a dive shop there so maybe I'll visit one day.

WOW! Quite a contrast to the depletion in the Burrard Inlet. Beautiful and amazing footage! So wonderful to see such life, especially the Rockfish schools which have been so overfished and disappeared in the Vancouver areas. There must have been hundreds of Rockfish. Thank you Chris!

Cheers man! I took British Columbia for granted for the longest time. I always wish I lived in a warmer climate where I could dive all year. Turns out all I needed was the proper equipment! I no longer dread winter haha. I haven't been there yet, but it looks like a great place to explore. The majority is a rockfish conservation area but parts are open. Regardless, the diving would be great I bet!

Yeah man, the structure can be amazing. Unfortunately, I find the beauty doesn't translate very well over the camera. After about 30-40 seconds, the footage gets boring to edit and watch haha. Unless I'm finding a bunch of cool stuff the videos don't tend to be very exciting. I do have some freshwater diving videos on the way though!

Awesome video Man. Such diversity and beauty scenery. Sad they killed the salmon industry in AB but that was many yrs and the word conservation or renewable resources was not on the radar. Beautiful conditions and that silver spotted sculpin was incredible.A little research on where piers from the 1800's were located may lead you to some great bottles. Generally unembossed and or machine made bottles have little monetary value.

Thanks man! I usually shoot in 2.7k and 60fps. Everything is auto settings. The later models do much better with low light and stability though. I believe the batteries are much better too. You can still get decent footage with a 5 but the model 8 and up GoPro really upper their capabilities.
