Another factor to consider is that people spend way less in retirement than they do when working and the very large boomer generation beginning to retire with numbers increasing every year just adds to velocity collapsing faster.

Ditto that. I just turned 70 and can tell you I spend very little. No rent, no mortgage, no car payment, no debt. I drive less than 50 miles a week and spend maybe $200 a month on food and household items, and another $150 or so on internet, phone, and utilities. Just for reference, I am very rural, in E. Tennessee and in silver, a small amount of stocks, and cash. Oh, yeah, my pantry is overflowing with canned goods and other staples.

Yeah sad thing is there are many boomers with huge nest eggs of retirement accounts, physical assets, and real estate, who never even have to touch that stuff because they have all expenses covered by their pension and social security income. That is one way to remedy that failed system. Stop paying social security to people with millions in retirement accounts and real estate. Yes those people paid in and feel entitled to it, but it’s broken system. They paid into a Ponzi scheme and the reality is current workers are funding their payments. So telling people who don’t need it they are no longer going to get it is the first step to getting rid of social security, the worst retirement plan in the history of the world.

We should factor in that generations after the baby boomers are spending way more on themselves and their children compared to boomers during their prime years. Their unhealthy spending habits and debts increase the GDP

there is a third thing that affect the velocity of a currency: Mass psychology. When people feel good, are positive about the future, they will spend more. when people feel bad, are negative about the future, they will spend less and save more. AND when people are worried about the currency itself, they will spend it ASAP (that's what hyperinflation is)

The new currency went upward to the already wealthy and currency and assetd were stripped from the poor and middle class as wage deflation, rising rents and consumer inflation ate away at savings and asset holdings.

What we need to know and what no metals channel even mentions is Are Vaulted Metals Safe? What happens to the metal if the vaulting company goes bankrupt? If the metal is stored under one of the storage programs that many metals dealers offer, who actually has the account with the vaulting company? Who actually holds title to the metals? Somebody in this industry needs to answer those questions!

Was GDP really growing during the pandemic? Maybe because consumer spending (ON BORROWED CURRENCY) counted as GDP with people sitting home buying on the internet? Where was the productivity? Who made the stuff being bought during this time? Something appears to be amiss to me in this calculation. Kinda like the CPLie.

If you've seen the video or read the book The Great Taking, you know that people's stocks and bonds (401k's) are collateral for the banks and brokerage houses. When the derivatives market collapses, those assets will go to the secured creditors instead of the actual owners (like in the Lehman Bros. collapse). It's highly likely that the derivatives market will collapse in 2024, possibly as early as this spring.

If you keep making the payments on time they can't take your house. The assumption is that if all the financial derivatives blow up we will have a major depression and many, many people lose their jobs. No job, no ability to make house payments.

Mike, if I guy precious metals from you and store them with you you are a counterparty. What assurance do I have that my assets will not be taken from me? I am a fan. But why should I not put all my money into BTC and store it on a cold wallet? No counterparty risk. I can't store much PM at home for obvious reasons. Happy Christmas.

I think Mike should answer this question! Gold and Silver are not "securities" so they might be safe, but it depends on who actually holds the title to the metals. Are the metals actually yours or does GoldSilver hold the title and you have an "account" that is really just a book entry with GoldSilver? "Segregated storage" is not the same as holding title to the metals. Does GoldSilver have debt? Does the vaulting company have debt? This is very concerning!

The eurodollar market is diminishing at an exponential rate, in large part due to the BRICS countries and the destruction of the petrodollar agreement. This ends badly, very soon. I just do what ever I have to do and on the way transferring all my knowledge to my siblings , kids and my wife slowly so they can learn and apply that knowledge . I never cared about cash nor a particular class of asset . I just went with diversification and it worked perfectly for me

You are wrong! The velocity of money does not have to do anything with the money supply, but with value and opportunity creation. You should first understand what money is and how it works in the economical context. More than 99% of the experts do not understand what money is. I include you here.

Ok... so this video is entitled "... Velocity of Money..." and we all know that money = gold and silver. And then the graphs are all about fiat currency, not money. So... why was this video not about the velocity of GOLD and SILVER? Meanwhile... we all know that the velocity of gold and silver is virtually zero. Meaning... anybody who has and understands the value, quality, and utility of gold and silver... is really needing to more-so USE gold and silver as a true medium of exchange to at least get one heart beat of velocity out of the stuff. Until then all the gold and silver bugs can scream and shout about the crooked and corrupted fiat currency system but if they are doing nothing to actually materialise gold and silver as money then they are just farts in the wind.

Velocity of gold silver -- zero the great taking -- commissions you gave malony over the years while he stacked profits he bought bitcoin and made millions with crypto 😂 while stackers watch paint dry (the comatose precious metals market). I also was a fool and stacked for years still have a stack missed the early bitcoin years 😢. I thank God i got into crypto later which is now worth multiples of my PM stack. His oily charms sadly gave false hope to many stackers and cost them dearly by missing out on crypto
