Download Mike's best-selling book for free here: pages.goldsilver.com/freebook Mike was recently alerted to an excellent website by a friend: wtfhappenedin1971.com It is a simple site, that presents chart after chart showing the impact of a decision made by the Nixon administration in 1971. It was a decision that is probably the biggest event in the history of the United States - yet it is never mentioned in schools, history books, or economic forums. So, WTF happened in 1971? 18-34 year-olds can't afford to get married, and the courts make it a really risk proposition. Only the best/most stable couples risk tying the knot so there is what's going on in the last graph...plus we got to see the devastation to our families when our parents split so many want nothing to do with marriage. We might see the up tick in the future in divorce too if things get really bad, so your point was valid, love your videos, keep 'em coming!

Mike, I'm a parts manager at a dealership in DC, we get a monthly visit from a BLS agent looking for pricing on a set of part numbers that we sell to calculate CPI. He usually speaks to an employee (that I unfortunately had to lay off) to get this info. But, this month he came to me for the pricing, which I provided our door rate for customers on these part numbers. He responded that the pricing had jumped significantly and that the other guy would give him the pricing he wanted. That he wanted our internal wholesale pricing? Like what price I sell parts to other departments within the dealer? I told him that the retail price is the retail price, that we don't sell services internally. I asked him why he wouldn't want to know what the customers pay to calculate CPI. I haven't heard back. Any thoughts? I don't know if this is my confusion or his? If its his, holly crap, they don't know what they're doing!

The problem is that they DO know what they're doing. Their job is to make inflation appear less than it is, they state this openly and constantly revise the calculations to this end.

Very true, I like to apply Hanlon’s Razor to Government employees. But, not their department heads, I have a buddy that works for the DOD and he was asked by the secretary to manipulate some reports, I cannot say much more than that to protect him. But, it was F’ed up on a national level, what he was being asked to make a report say. He wouldn’t do it so they hired a contractor that would and then promptly fired the contractor.

They know EXACTLY what they are doing. Look at history of the CPI. Every time something goes up in price more than a certain percentage it was substituted by another item. Beef goes up, like right now, it gets substituted with chicken instead. That's how you smoke and mirror to your population that there is NO inflation and that your currency keeps it's value .

Hello Mike, thank you for all the hard research. You are a clear tone in an orchestra of noise. Some time ago you did a video focused on "what I'm going to do". No recommendations or advice, just how you are preparing to weather this and upcoming storms. Please consider making this format a regular event.I consult a pro about a seemingly insurmountable problem, juggle a plethora of options and find myself the worse for wisdom to make good decisions. "What I'm going to do" allows me to experience questions, answers and action in real time (so to speak).... How rare, and what a blessing... With greatest respect.

When I first arrived in the UK (yes the UK) from Canada in late 1964, a pint of English beer cost on average, one old shilling (5p in new money) and there were 20 of those to the old English £ pound, so one £ would buy you 20 x pints of beer. As I speak, that same pint of beer now costs about £5.00 new pounds which would have bought 100 pints in 1964. So, in beer and ale terms, the UK £ has lost 99% of its value in just over 55 years!

This is one of the best episodes i have seen yet Mike - thank you. It joined a lot of dots for me and also explains why the billionaires get richer when we get poorer - IE the monetary and taxation systems allow that to happen. I have had people argue that the billionaires pay the most tax; well, that may be correct, but the post war taxation system actually stopped them from acquiring all of our wealth and forced investment back into the economy (IE - investment as tax deductible expenses). Now when the billionaires pay taxes the government are handing those taxes over to the banks and PPP, PFI & PF2 schemes (and other rebranded names for the same thing) that they are in debt too from deficit spending; funnily enough the billionaires have shares in those banks and corporations (or outright own them). So basically when a billionaire pays taxes they are paying themselves through the government and that's why their wealth increases and ours doesn't. This episode properly opened my eyes on the taxation con as well as the currency con.

Yet, 100% of the population has to deal with finance in order to survive, yet most don't know how the economy and the government's smoke and mirror tactics work and affect their personal lives. Heads up. Plenty of canning jars available at this time. I think an increase of people will be canning come fall.

Everything you said is happening here in England, went to the store yesterday and 50% off signs were everywhere. The government has never typed more money into existence at one time but no one is spending, the great deflation is here...

That broken line on the Federal Debt Held by the Public chart was from Jan 2019 and doesn't incorporate the pandemic of 2020... looking forward to the video going deeper Mike. Thank you for all you do sir.

I always wanted someone who could clearly explain in layman’s turn how this all happened. Thanks mate. Very well done.

Another great one. You are great speaker and it is far more interesting to listen to your voice than to read the graphs by myself in silence.

Mike, I have been watching you and reading your work for nearly 25 years now. Your inspiration has been life-changing. I would be remiss if I didn't mention the work of Ron Paul, Rich Dad, and a host of others that have been ringing the fiat bell of danger. I am almost sure we will live to see significant changes to our currency and social changes to our society.

Hi Mike! You are such a good history teacher! I wonder if you would consider teaching us more history? Even a history series broader than just money =-)

Mike, I really like your videos. You have a gift for teaching and you use it well. I know you probably won't get to see my comment but if you or someone else can point me to a good video explaining deflation and it's effects on the different class levels I would really appreciate it.

You mentioned that the divorce rate of the 18-34 year-olds is the lowest on the chart. Here are two possible reasons for that. One. They don't make enough money to afford two households. Two. They have the decency to wait for their kids to graduate high school.

Mike thank you for all that you do, the seen and the Unseen. The catastrophe that is unfolding is just barely getting started. Thank you again for putting into layman's terms the reality of the situation.

Hey Mike! Much love from Canada &thank you for all your hard work over the last decade! Can you please talk about Paul Krugman in your next video? I’m curious to see what onions you have about his ideas of the future, specifically hyper inflation and the debt to GDP ratio of the US vs Japan. THANKS AGAIN!

I’ve been watching Mikes channel and videos for almost a decade and have always enjoyed the content. I thought this video was really interesting to see how severing the ties to gold did so much damage to our economy. It’s too bad we couldn’t get back on a gold standard like the old days. The overlords would never let this happen.
