OMG I miss Adelaide, such a fun track to watch F1 tear up. I always wonder about Alesi's 10 and 2 hand position, ha ha I guess it would minimize corrections somewhat. Really nice guy though - the guy who owns the karting track near me knows him and said he's really cool and unassuming, just humble.

Much better to watch a hot lap incar camera too compared to Melbourne!

Same here, I have watched this video so many times! Adelaide track is still one of my top favourites after Spa, Imola (up until 1994 layout) and Hockenheim (the long version)

Ridiculous how much effort he has to put in just to keep this car on the track!

Ridiculous? Somehow it seems most-appropriate.

This shows how unstable the twin floor F92A was, not so much a prancing horse, more like a frisky stallion

@@sircharles7323 in an ideal world, that should be the case for the entire field, but as it was, it was the Ferrari that was furthest from the pace in any season a Ferrari participated in

@@SiVlog1989 I´m with you. Would be much more fun to watch all of them with these kind of cars, fighting for the win. Nowadays it looks like cars on rails, though I know it is still one very sophisticated thing to drive the new ones, only it doesn´t look so.

I agree. In my mind he was one of those great what-if's since he was offered a drive for Williams in 1991 but chose Ferrari instead. One can only imagine what he could have done with the dominant 1992 and 1993 Williams-Renaults. His racing career would have looked very different indeed. A lot of wins were cruelly denied him. Monaco 1996 and Monza 1995 comes to mind. There were others in which fate seemingly was against him. Seeing him drive the Jordan in 2001 with his skill was pure joy.

That hand position on the steering wheel had to be a huge part of his driving style. Even on the later '97 cars he would still use the older and larger wheel.

V10 is better imo. Cheaper, more reliable, easier to work with and (obviously) took up less space and weighed less. V12's also made the weight distribution more problematic with much more turn-in under-steer. V12 sounds amazing but it's almost 'too' high pitch whereas the V10 sounded a bit more angrier. This is just my opinion though (well most anyway).

The front grip was good but pointless. If he used it, the rear wanted to come around. It would be interesting to compare his teammate's approach, to see what he and his engineers did with the set-up. Under Alesi, it seems that there is lag between both ends of the chassis. Was this more pronounced because of his style, with which we saw the Tyrrel display similar unstable characteristics?
