My only thing in response to people not responding to Ireland in general is. Eurosong our national final, being attached to the main talk show in our country IS watched by more than just eurovision fans here in Ireland, and yet Bambie STILL won the public vote here. So if that gives anyone a little small sample for hope for us I'd consider it :) PLUS yes Irelands spot isnt optimallll but being before our friend the UK is super helpful, any possible UK voters that just want to tune in to watch Olly's performance, will likely get to see Bambie too - and possibly vote. As well as this, I think Doomsday Blue is the first "whoa" of the night. Cyprus a strong opener for sure - not shocking though. Serbia is beautiful and will be gorgeous, Lithuania will be slick and smooth and super impressive, but I think once Doomsday Blue begins people might sit forward a bit? Maybe I'm wrong idk. (Keep in mind I love those other songs i mentioned too)

Confession: Poland is my get up song in the morning. I like it a lot. My other favorites on the first semi are my witches and my sad girls 😂

Everyone saying Latvia is a lock non-qualifier, but I actually think he's still got a shot. There is not some other classic sad boy ballad song competing in the semi, and I don't think Belgium falls in same category as Latvia, it's more in same category like Switzerland to me. But if Israel qualifies I don't think we're getting Latvia.

I can’t believe Australia is so low in the odds, and fell even further after the semifinal allocation. Expect it to jump dramatically when people see the staging…..

I looked at past semi running orders and I've noticed in most years one (occasionally 2) of the last 4 songs (not the closer aside from 2017) will not qualify and I can see Israel being in some trouble since they have to follow Italy AND then Norway and Netherlands come after. Yes I'm aware there are people that are gonna vote for them no matter what but I'm not fully sure if that will be enough. Loud people online don't always translate to real life and most people will be seeing/hearing these songs for the first time and I'm not really sure if there are enough casual/objective people that will vote for it.

Respectfully, The Netherlands is more affordable than Sweden is. Like over here we talk about the Nordics being crazy expensive. I think in 2021 Covid may have skyrocketed the prices.

Poland has UK, Ireland, Ukraine, Lithuania, Germany, the nordics, etc. voting in the same semi, so diaspora voting will be enough to grant them a place in the final. I could also see some people outside of the eurovision bubble voting for it

I like the Estonian vibe but I see what you mean about the staging. It feels like Fatal Picard in 2007.

There are 9 female* singers in the Semi Final 1 and they can’t all go through (stating the obvious here, but think about it - only 10 spots and 9 female singers fighting for spots…). I’m thinking that they will battle each other for spots and the ones that will go through will be songs that are catchy on the FIRST listen + great staging. Not all viewers are fanatic fans like us, and for plenty of them, the first listen is crucial. So going with this thought, coming from the assumption that 4 spots are taken (Croatia, Ukraine, Lithuania, Finland), I am thinking that Slovenia with Veronika definitely goes through… We have 5 spots left and the female singers are fighting with Azerbaijan and Australia. This is super tough to predict. My assumption is that Cyprus and Luxembourg will seem too similar and the more generic one will lose out (so Cyprus is a no). I am also assuming that the strong Balkan block will help Serbia go through. We are left with 4 spots. Despite the potential Scandinavian block, I doubt that Iceland will make it. The song is simply not strong enough. 😢 Especially when sandwiched between Ukraine and Croatia. I’m thinking Australia will surprise and go through. I have to say that I am surprised a lot of people think that Portugal is a shoe in for getting in. I disagree. The song on first listen is NOT catchy. I simply don’t see it going through 😬 The big question is whether Ireland’s Doomsday Blue will be different enough to go through or turn viewers off. I say this because I hated the song on first listen and after hearing it many times I now love it. But hopefully it will have enough support. I think Israel will be a shock winner, this year. So many people don't react to the song, which is completely fair and understandable. However, that leaves room for a huge blindspot in their experience. I'm a Norwegian Music Producer, I have no ties to either Israel or Palestine. I have both Israeli and Palestinian friends. Israel's song this year "Hurricane" is miles above any other song in competition, just based on quality alone. It's a better produced song than the previous winners: - Tattoo - Stefania - Toy - Heroes If it was any other country than Israel submitting it, you'd all have this as your Top 3 song. I have seen Semi Final 2 support in various comment sections, so I expect it to qualify. If the jury don't focus on politics, which I expect them not to focus on. Israel may win the Jury Votes. Then we'll see where they stand with the public. As previously mentioned you all are right to not give Israel any spotlight, however you are doing yourself a disservice if you completely ignore the song. Because right now it is Top 5 to take the victory despite odds and Community conflict. I don't expect Israel to host next year if they win though. It'll be too hard for Europe to accept. Sweden will probably get Top 10, so maybe they'll host it again in 2025 on behalf of Israel 🤔

Don't underestimate Estonia. This year, Europe - and the rest of the world - wants fun and joy, not seriousness. And I feel sad for Norway: they're usually the fun ones, this time they chose a splendid rock sound, sung in their own language... and what Europe wants for 2024 is to party. So, don't ignore Estonia. Which means that Israel might not qualify, and it will not be for political reasons. Australia WILL qualify, I'm sure of that, it's got the joy and happiness that Europeans need, today.

Omg someone finally agrees with me about having Azerbaijan and Australia being back to back wasn't a great move, I said I found them both similar and can only see a spot for one of them in the final, and I got so bullied by fans for this opinion, a fan even told me to "unalive" myself, my mental health was so bad for the week due to that, so nice to hear you actually felt the same way I did about this.
