This is a painful one to accept. Even the first announcement of his diagnosis was hard to accept. I was numb after hearing both. God bless him.

When you get that diagnosis like stage 4 the way he handled it was truly brave. It’s very sad he’s gone but I think he lived a full life. He was positive til the end.

I am terribly saddened but so grateful to know Alex was at peace. I can’t imagine life without seeing his show. Many times I remind myself some people who are blessed with love and companion should never die. God rest his precious soul. Prayers and blessings for his amazing family. Especially his loving wife. He absolutely worshiped the ground she walked on. I will keep her in my prayers. Gone but not forgotten. Obviously Alex must have had wonderful parents and is now celebrating with them in heaved.

I remember being about 12 the 1st time I had seen Jeopardy. My grandparents were big fans of game shows, Jeopardy, Wheel of Fortune , Price is right and more to I enjoyed watching ot with them. I always had an old soul and the love for anything before my time. It was so fun watching and trying to guess the answers. Thanks for the wonderful memories. You truly will be missed

Alex was a gentle soul. How fortunate he was for people to tell him what an impact he made on their life while he was still alive. That is a true blessing. Tell the people you love what they mean to you now. You will both be better for the experience. Stay positive, stay healthy, and stay strong.

I can’t believe he’s gone. As a fellow Canadian (also named “Alex”), he was my inspiration for entering the Broadcasting industry. And the fact that he hosted three game shows, during his career simultaneously, (Jeopardy, Classic Concentration, and To Tell the Truth), made his broadcasting legacy even stronger than ever. Canada misses you, Alex. I like to call him, “The Canadian version of Bob Barker”.

Hollywood should take a lesson from this man I don't know a thing about him except he was on Jeopardy. THAT IS WHAT HOLLYWOOD SHOULD BE.. RIP

80yo ... I didn't realized he was that old, he didn't looked it ... never looked a day older than 60yo to me.

Still hard to believe he passed on. I was about 16 when he started the show. It will be interesting to see who'll take over & how long Jeopardy will go on with out him.

My husband passed about 3 months ago from the same silent killer, pancreatic cancer. We often competed watching Jeopardy and shared those experiences while Alex hosted the thrilling episodes. Alex was a class act and so was my Steven. Now they have the Final Jeopardy Round!

He was even more handsome when he git older. I was impressed by the lack of scandal also

I remember being mad when my Mom would make me watch Jeopardy, but soon gained a deep appreciation while still in my youth..now being in my 40's. The feelings that are now being felt are the same as when Dr Spock 🖖 (Leonard Nimoy) passed. Sadness that another part of my childhood is now gone.. Rest in Paradise Mr. Trebek. I appreciate the knowledge gained.

Even though we knew Alex was battling cancer we still had hope's that he was going to make it We have been watching Jeopardy for as long as the first episode untill the last one which will air Christmas day He was not just a host of jeopardy but we felt as if he was part of our family We never missed an episode. That was the highlight of our day waiting for jeopardy as we ate our dinner and please don't say a word while jeopardy was on because we didn't want to miss a moment of his honesty and kindness we looked so forward to seeing him daily Praying for his family and the entire world because everyone is devastated of his passing At least he is not suffering and he is surrounded by many angels in heaven and I will look forward to meeting him in heaven someday because I know that's where he is hosting jeopardy today Miss you Alex but will see you again in heaven RIP our friend ❤️ You are truly loved and we were blessed to have known you
