I'm a firm believer in trying, as much as possible, of replicating a particular ship as it existed in a specific period. There is next to no data about this exact ship, but that doesn't prevent a builder from following relevant practices of the time period. Having said that...I really believe in "Hey, it's my model and I'll build it any damn way I want...prove to me I'm wrong and I'll amend my ways. I am not a professional model builder nor even a good amateur, I just really enjoy it. Continue the good work my friend and don't concern yourself what others might think.

When I was younger I build a huge model of the USS Constitution. I do mean huge. Took me forever and it got knocked over at least twice and was rebuilt. The third time I gave up. It had ten miles of rigging, all 52 guns and all decks. I have been fighting the urge to build another similar ship. They are just beautiful

Stunning work of art. To successfully complete this build to then start on another kit will be difficult. Without the style and expertise which this kit required, it will be hard to undertake a "run of the mill" kit. Thank you for sharing this with us. Mike

Excellent work and video. You said something about "perfection", in my opinion modeling is not about perfection its about enjoying yourself and having fun. Its a hobby and we do it to relax. Nobody has ever built a perfect model(although some on KZfaq think they do). Alex I think you do outstanding work on both your models and your videos. I my opinion its about the enjoyment of the hobby. Okay I rambled on too much! Awesome build and thank you for the bright spot in my week with two premier videos. Stay safe all. Thanks for your words Chris... I agree with you. I have to deal sometimes with a lot of mails with criticism. But i totally agree with you and thats how it will continue to be. As long as i don t rush a model just for the sake of a vídeo and for fun it will be ok. Thank you

People who criticize like that are either miserable and they have nothing better to do or are jealous because they can't build a model like you, either way there opinion doesn't count. Like I said I'm glad none of that stops your from doing the hobby that you love and have a ton a passion for👍. lovely build, very well done. an aside, standing rigging was coated in pitch/bitumen (black) to preserve it. running rigging was replaced as needed anyway i have subscribed

one point no offence meant, lots of people make the same mistake, if the sails are billowing towards the bow, ergo running down wind, the flags should be pointing in the same direction

If the sails indicate wind from behind, how can the flag at the same time indicate wind from the front??? Remember, flags always bend to the same directs as the sails do.

Start by adding a small amount of thinner to the paint, about 10-20% of the total volume. You can use a plastic cup or container to mix the paint and thinner together. Mix the paint and thinner thoroughly using a stir stick or similar tool. The consistency of the mixture should be thin and smooth, with no clumps or lumps. Test the consistency of the paint by using a small amount in your airbrush. If the paint is too thick, it will clog the airbrush or produce an uneven spray. If the paint is too thin, it will not have good coverage or adhere well to the surface. If the paint is too thick, add more thinner to the mixture and mix again. If the paint is too thin, add more paint to the mixture and mix again. Keep adjusting the ratio of paint to thinner until you achieve the desired consistency. The perfect ratio will depend on the specific paints and thinner you are using, as well as the type of airbrush and the project you are working on.

Alex... You make beautiful ships. Painting, shading... But rigging... Please... I am sure that you are able to do it better! Rigging is the most spectacular part of the sailing ships. Of course, I know that rigging takes the same time time of work as the rest of the ship but it is worth it... Look. You put only a few ropes on the whole ship... I am sure that you can put a few more. Add some ropes to the cannons. Add some ropes to sails... Please... I hope that in Victory you will do it better because the ship is worth it, and your work is worth it.

Thank you for your criticism! I remember saying on the vídeo that i had an acident and yes rigging is not the best. Lets hope i do a decent work on VICTORY also. I will have to live with that if i don t. Thank you. I will give my best.

Your skills painting details is incredible, awesome, and Im always fascinated to see what I’ll learn from your next video. I have to admit I stop watching when you get to your rigging. Sorry but such simple details such as standing rigging is black and running rigging is tan/brown is almost a universal rule in model ships. Rigging detail makes or breaks the overall appearance of the entire model. I look forward to your next video.
