Jeep's mission has been complicated ever since the original Wagoneer came on the scene. Rather than a "pure off-road brand" Jeep's dual mission is to have serious off-road capable Wranglers and a selection of luxury models to compete with Land Rover's Range Rover sub-brand and now the Cadillac Escalade. The result is the biggest and most luxurious Jeep ever conceived.

I love how we've been duped to perceive luxury as tech that's dated by the time the vehicle releases rather than comfort, build quality and reliability. We'll pay 10K more for ambient lights, buttons that don't press (which makes no sense when driving) and tech that's not reliable.

Hi Alex, love your channel, would put you on #1 youtube car reviewer. Just a minor suggestion, you talk about seats comfort, you typically cover driver seat, second row and third row seats including those middle seats in second and third row, which are very thorough. It might be more helpful if you can also actually sit and talk about front passenger seat comfort with your camera on. The reason I bring this up is, when I was testing this vehicle the other day, I found the front passenger seat is very uncomfortable. That is all due to the limited floor space for your left foot. I cannot find a good place to rest my left foot when I was sitting on front passenger seat. I never had this issue with other vehicles I tested. I know my suggestion may mean you have move the camera to the other side of the vehicle and results in some inconvenience, but I think front passenger seat comfort is equally important as any seats of the second row.

Don’t mind the glass not opening separately from the hatch in the rear. Seeing how tall it is, and how high the bottom of the glass line is from the ground, it’s hard to see someone average height trying to put large groceries through the glass hatch easily.

Anyone else find it kinda crazy how much power they’re getting out of the HO 3.0 Hurricane engine? Usually SUVs get a bit derated for their use case but this engine makes the same power as the venerable BMW M Divisions inline 6 of the same displacement (and more torque to boot).
@hellkitty1014
@hellkitty1014 Жыл бұрын
It is odd that the Hurricane isn't de-rated for truck duty. But given that Hurricane is an updated variant of the architecture of the isingle turbo 2.0T in the Wrangler and many other Stellantis vehicles, it makes a wee bit of sense. I believe the 3.0TT puts out in the neighborhood of 26 pounds of boost and has been tested to over 700hp safely(due to the sleeved block and forged internals on the H.O.), according to SRT. We know what that means!

Looks are subjective but this essentially has the exterior profile of an armored cash truck! I like the interior design and layout. Fuel economy is abysmal, burning through $3-5 dollars' worth of gas every 16 miles is basically a middle finger to the environment in this day and age. Value for money? There's been a lot of reported initial quality issues with this on forums, mainly connectivity and electrical glitches. It's big, comfy and capable but personally I think the exterior could look a lot better from the side and rear, it drinks fuel, quality is a concern and it's pricey!

I know one person had to lemon out their Wagoneer already due to electrical issues that could never be resolved…after only 4 months. They were only able to use it for two weeks. Call it whatever name it is now, but the Stellantis group still has a ways to go to be considered part of the luxury group in my opinion. I've gotten so tired of all these high dollar CUV's. Average cost on a vehicle is now $45k+ it's just nuts. I've migrated to just keeping my existing cars and buying motorcycles, Much cheaper to buy, mod and own.

These aren't CUVs - they're true body-on-frame SUVs, though not closely related to the Ram trucks.

I can see why they would not want the rear glass opening. It is too large. I have a Nissan with a rear glass that opens and in the winter the hydraulics get weak and the glass comes down on your head!!!!!!!!

I'm disappointed in the rear storage space. Thats less than half of what you can get in a minivan. But I guess there is no "One size fits all" vehicle.

If you’re looking at the ultimate road trip vehicle, do you pick Grand Wagoneer or Escalade? Heard that SuperCruise will not be available in 2023 due to “chip shortages”. I was in a GMC dealership looking at Yukons and they are shipping them with missing features (like ventilated seats). But the Grand Wagoneers seem to be shipping with all standard features. Maybe Chrysler is better at managing their supply chain? Anyway, for long road trips, Escalade (w/o SuperCruise), Grand Wagoneer with their ADAS, or wait for Escalade to ship with SuperCruise?

GW in my opinion, escalade looks like a vehicle from Transformer to me.. but it is all subjective. I’m waiting for Jeep to introduce something similar to SuperCruise before I pull the trigger
@hellkitty1014

@@svm2020 from what I hear, all GWs are pre-built with a system that will receive an OTA update for full activation. The current system is great, but Super Cruise is admittedly superior due to the true hands off driving and lane changing capabilities. BUT I agree on the Escalade. The looks are subjective, but the Wagoneer's interior is better.

I think this is an opportunity to bring the Chrysler Aspen name back. All they need to do is to change the front grille and steering wheel to reflect the difference. But the issue is pricing. Most of the Wagoneers are over $100k.

I see a lot more X7s. I wonder what the respective sales are like? In any case, the same caveats apply to both models - they're unibody crossovers, and smaller.

Ford Godzila engine still in production I believe. Hard to imagine General Motors no longer producing a V8 as well. I think this is the first good move for Jeep Chrysler as far as new product going on seemingly forever now. Ford has been by far the most aggressive and best of the Big 3 in not shying away at trying to dominate the entire US Automotive Industry in every segment excepting passenger autos although this might change with the Ford Mustang Badge.
