I wish the models they showed at these shows were the ones people actually want like the one with 8 seats, not the reclining seats that don't do much in a minivan.

I think automakers should completely ditch the integrated displays in the rear seats. There’s no arguing that an iPad will ALWAYS be better than these screens, except maybe if the kid is too young to hold an iPad

Can’t wait to test drive this hybrid van. I drove the 2023 Lexus RX350h last year, which has the same powertrain as the Sienna hybrid, and there’s a drone at certain RPM that is absolutely unacceptable in a 60k vehicle. I think the interior of this hybrid looks just as nice as the Lexus and it’s definitely in the my short list of vehicles that I’m considering buying this year

The looks are growing on me - super glad they seem to have moved the turn-signals off the bumper (I hope it's like that on all trims rather than the high-end ones. I don't care for the haptic feedback "buttons". I have yet to hear someone say they want those over physical controls. However, I have an order in for a long awaited Sienna hybrid, our first new car so I'm hoping we'll have it for the next 20 years haha. My family and I rented one for a week long trip to FL and it was GREAT. We hit some stop and go from Savannah to Raleigh on the way home and somehow averaged 40 mpg (per the car comp and the tripometer/gallons pumped). I was shocked considering we had the thing PACKED. I grew up with a Plymouth Grand Voyager in Connecticut. We had snow storms every winter but the roads were plowed fairly well. All we needed were snow tires and some careful driving, never got stuck anywhere and there were lots of hills and windy New England roads (close to the Berkshires). I'm seeing a ton of comments demanding AWD, but with my experience it's not necessary. Turn off the TC and don't floor it and you'll be fine w/ some good snow tires.

This is the top trim and those second row captains chairs are designed for adult passengers in rideshare. The volume models will have the traditional bench and will have better means of third row access.

Okay so I'm someone who despises mini vans and.... I really love the Carnival. I work at a car rental agency and these get stuck with the Expeditions and Suburbans more than the Pacificas and Siennas. Super excited to see the hybrid. Give me a benchseat, hybrid, AWD Carnival? Perfection.

For those bitching about a lack of awd, it’s not needed if you never see snow, and even then, proper winter tires and common sense are your best weapons. I have a fwd Mazda cx5 with snow tires and we just got 100 cm of snow on the weekend and I had no issues driving through it.

Tried to buy a Carnival. Dealer sent email price and then demanded 2000 more when I test drove. Bad dealers are why Kia Hyundai are not selling more.

I think calling this an mpv is the dumbest thing they could do. Not a single soccer mom knows what the hell an mpv is supposed to be. Call it a minivan or call it a suv. They made it look enough like an suv most soccer moms wouldnt be able to tell the difference, and the word of mouth marketing of "oh i got this new suv with the sliding doors like a minivan, its amazing" would probably do better for them than anything

These look great. These seem to be focused on people hauling. To be a Multi Purpose Vehicle they should make it easy to fold rear seats out of the way for cargo.

For such a big car/van, AWD with a good set of snow tires will ensure you can get going, turn around and stop in time in Ontario winter. Snow tires is a must here. For smaller cars/crossovers, arguably you don't need AWD.

Almost bought a 2024 Carnival, glad we waited. I'm old school and don't care for the black-out wheels. Is there another option and what are the other color options? It would be nice to have an auto-close sunroof 10 minutes or so after turning the car off. And, have the rear-view mirror adjust with the selected driver.

I’ve always been baffled that the (in my opinion excellent looking and very practical) Carnival didn’t come with a hybrid power train, so I’m glad to see it! Interesting to see if the 1.6L hybrid has enough guts when you guys get a chance to drive it, expected the 2.5L hybrid. A plug in hybrid option would also be great in one of these, but glad to see the hybrid! Also love the amber lights

I like the new front end, but I also loved the undulating lines on the outgoing front end. Kinda like how it's sad we lost the cool amber DRLs on the OG Telluride. Blue accents are kind cool. I loathe Kia put in that infernal dual-purpose capacitive touch area to control both the infotainment and HVAC. It was a dumb idea on the EV6. Can't tell in the video - did they at least open up a storage area underneath the center console like the Sienna? Huge wasted space on the pre-refresh models with that.

A 1.6 turbo engine for a car of that size is a recipe for long term problems. They lost me at that point. Even toyota sienna hybrid having a 2.5 N/A feels underpowered under mid to heavy acceleration or merging on freeway.

I definitely want those mpg numbers. The gas price is too high in California to make driving the gas version efficient for my family. This hybrid will be a consideration if the mpg is like 36 like the Toyota sienna

When the Carnival came out, I thought it was a very attractive minivan. This new front end and taillights are a huge downgrade in my eyes. It had a sleek spaceship vibe about it, but now they are trying to make it look more square-jawed and SUV-like. It just looks kind of...awkward. Still a nice minivan nonetheless.

I think Kia is making a mistake shying away from the minivan label. The minivan automobile segment is beginning to gain traction again because minivans are no longer being seen as a "kiddie" vehicles or "Mom" vans. They are being built and marketed as "luxury" vehicles (HAVE YOU SEEN XPENG's minivan?? Whoa....sumptuous!). IMHO, the minivan is evolving into the luxury vehicles that were once occupied by full size sedans (think Cadillac Coupe Deville, Oldsmobile Regency 98 and Buick Electra Limited). And I for one (hopefully more) am very happy for that transition. And to make the Kia a Hybrid? Holy Smokes! Best of both worlds! I've driven Hybrids 12 years now (a Lexus HS250h and a Lexus ES300h) and I love them! They're not hot roads my any means. But I love getting 42 MPG all day long! Yes, I'm planning on my next vehicle being a minivan....as long as it offers the luxury and creature comforts I want.

How reliable is their hybrid powertrain? Curious as to why Kia/Hyundai goes with a small turbo. Wouldn’t Toyota’s larger NA hybrid system be more reliable?

Looks like you had to squeeze in the second row seats. Also it looked kind of tight in the drivers seat. The attraction of minivans is the feeling of roominess...I didn't get that feeling looking at you get into the various parts of the inside of the van. If Kia doesn't get close to real life MPG's like Sienna it will be a no sale to a lot of people...just for Toyota's reputation for reliability like this current Sienna has shown.

Need a choice of engine options. An engine that can get the job done without turbos/electrification and complication is worth more to me and drives better. I'm so glad to see them not offer AWD. AWD is just an expensive option I'd never use, but almost every dealer would get for stock.

I love the amount of people taking about AWD and others who live in place where you think you would "need" it are like "nah, good snow tires and use your brain and 2wd is perfectly fine" my wife grew up in Vermont and said she used it a handful of times in her Explorer and it was unnecessary. Gotta have good snow tires and common sense.

Captain chairs nice but not for everyone ( cant remove them and cant fold them). So no large items from home dept lol but really kind of stinks. They should of went right to plug in hybrid with 75-100 electric range ( not including turbo engine)

In the non-hybrid model I was told that the rotary shifter was only for the Korean market and a stick shifter would come with Carnivals sold in the states. I wonder if that will be the same for the hybrid model?

If they are putting this hybrid drivetrain into the Carnival, it's only a matter of time before we see it (or something very similar) in the Telluride/Palisade. Well done Kia.

From 2022+ Kia Carnival General Discussion Forum : I just got the 2023 SX Prestige but there has been some rattling noise when I driver on the bumpy road/ uneven surfaced road. I have this also. Same (perceived) location. Can't really pinpoint location. May be in driver's door as it sometimes goes away if I open and close the door at a stop. I just got a new Kia carnival 2024 sx and am hearing the same rattling near the front side/seat belt column area on both drivers and passengers door. Yep. Same issue with me. It seems to only make the noise on the highway. But it is totally random. I’m having the same issue with my 2024 SX prestige. The noise seems to be from driver/sliding door on driver side. I have the 2024 Kia Carnival and I hear rattling noise when I drive over uneven roads/pavement coming from the rear of the vehicle. Got our 2023 SX Prestige last week and from the first mile itself, I could hear some clunking noise from the back when I go over bad patches of road/speed bumps. did anyone had same problem as mine... squeaking / creaking sound from dashboard when drive on uneven / bumpy road... Yes! Got our car on Oct 22, 2022. It’s an ex 2023. Today 10/27/2022 I started to notice. Creaking noise when I stop and go and on some slightly bumpy roads…. I don’t like it I have a kia carnival sx prestige, I have the creaking sound just whenever it wants to make the noise, I have replaced the struts and mounts, leftside lower control arm and the brakes and still the same sound, took it to kia and they charged me for 2 hours of trying to figure it out, 465.00 . I had someone tell me it sounds like 2 pieces of plastic scraping rubbing together and the noise sounds like under the driver's seat to him. I about to trade it for a dodge. I have a noise at random times on the highway. Sounds like it is coming from the lower part of the driver side door. Anyone find a fix for this, my 22 EX+ model is doing this, seems like plastic trim behind the dual screens in the noise source.

Bring us a PHEV! Any battery 7kwh or larger (20 miles EV range) gets a $7500 rebate. Kia can price its PHEV $8,000-9,000 over an ICE, and the buyer pays an extra $500-$1500 premium, after the tax incentive. Kia can rack up EPA EV credits to sell to other OEMs. Do the same for the Telluride and assemble both in Georgia. Hyundai's Georgia lithium ion battery plant is scheduled to open in October, 2024. Can we have the PHEV Carnival for model year 2026?

Can you compare the back seat of the Kia Carnival Sx Prestige to the Lexus Ultra Luxury? I think these back seats are BETTER than the seats in the Lexus Ultra Luxury. I am very tempted to buy this because it can be a VIP transport vehicle in one instant and a minivan in another instant and a huge luggage transport system in another instant. So, Very versatile!

For the SUV part they should get a bit more ground clearance, a bit more towing and optional v8 or more powerful engine should bridge the gap otherwise it’s just cosmetics

Nice in a lot of ways but they still don't have the front right. Nice screens but haptic buttons aren't as good as real ones from a usability perspective and they still lag the whole case in terms of the practicality of the front area. Something like Toyota's bridge console or Honda's open area is more utilitarian which ultimately is the point of a minivan. I also am not confident in trusting a turbo hybrid powertrain from Kia if the goal is long haul reliability, especially with how bad Kia's dealer network is. A great warrenty is nice but not if you end up waiting weeks for things to get fixed as many I know have. Also screens on the back of the seat are just asking to get broken in a family car.

Why no plug-in hybrid? It much more power on EV and could mitigate 90% of gas if pack is big enough.

KIA has a quality problem… my niece’s 2022 Carnival has a transmission that limits her speed at time to 20 kilometres an hour, and the dealership cannot fix it, and Kia corporate is unhelpful
