The snake is called Biscione (Casa del Biscione is one of Alfa's nicknames) and it comes from an aristocratic family that has ruled the Milan in various periods since about a thousands years ago. The reason why that scene was used on their herald hasn't been found but among all the myths, the best one is that in which a Visconti family member won a duel with a Saracen warrior that wore a shield with a snake on during the second crusade. So he inherited the snake and put himself coming out of it The myth Alfa refers to is that of an aristocrat whose son was eaten by a snake. He went searching for the snake and kills it in a duel, and while passing away the snake spits his son

My very first car was an Alfa Romeo Giulietta Sprint so I'm hopelessly hooked. Alfa designs some of the very best looking front ends of all time IMO. The Character of an Alfa Romeo is palpable. The current F1 team goes a long way to reviving the sporting nature of the Marque. Good review of the GTAM, thanks.

Having been an Alfisti for years and privileged to have stewardship of a Montreal Green Quad, even I can't stop to admire the quality of the video, and the amount of Alfa history that even I wasn't aware of. Awesome video Rory, and for me quite probably the best one you've done. yet. Roll on Alfa !

I'm no expert, but the quality of this video for me is a 10/10! The content was engaging, informative, and superbly presented. Very well done, Rory and team. It seems Alpha are making a massive comeback on the motorsport scene.

That GTAm is one gorgeous-looking vehicle. I really enjoyed the look at the Alfa Romeo museum combined with the great detailed history but when Rory started to drive these priceless automobiles on the track and give them the respect they deserved it just reminded me that Auto Trader is just on a whole other lever. Well, done. Very well done indeed.

Great video! God I see resemblance with SAAB & Alfa back in the day with their older models. Wonder what the history was with those two companies. Very informative video. A sport wagon combo would be a great addition or a roadster. That green is perfect spec. This car is insane 😮💨

Odd that in all of the Top Gear and Grand Tour I've watched, and for how much Clarkson praised Alfa's as the true Petrolhead's car, I don't think I've ever heard that story about how the Quadrafoglio logo was created.

I recently purchased my first Alfa Giulia ti q2 and I have to say I’m in love with her! The lines the drive everything I have zero complaints other than maybe getting the quadrofoglio. But even then I have no complaints the four cylinder feels like a rocket ship in its own. The history shows through, everytime I drive it’s like she’s begging me for more speed and begging to hit the corners harder she wants to go! Thank you Alfa you created a new future classic with the giulia.

I really enjoy every video you guys produce. It proves quality in every second. This clip though is on another level, camera, edit, acting and story…top notch. Although it smells a bit of a modern marketing…who cares if behind it is such a glorious car manufacturer as Alfa Romeo. This production just proofs what a real passion for cars should manifest itself with, with all its history behind. Alfa Romeo (any modern model) is a car I wish I had, but I just won’t be able to buy. I am happy though for all those who can !! Enjoy the pure riding experience at a fraction of the price 😎 it won’t last long

One of top reviews I have seen in last few years....you have great skill in creating these reviews. I have owned a lot of cars and have owned and raced a few ALFAs in my 75 years. When taken care of properly they are durable and always a delight to drive. My first ALFA was a 1969 spider I bought new and kept for over 40 years although with many go fast mods. I would still have that if I had a larger garage. Current ALFA is a 2015 4C Launch Editon I bought new and it has been a love affair ever since. It was my idea of a raw sports car that is arguably one of the most beautiful bodies every designed. It feels the closest to a real race car of the street cars I have driven. I have a few very minor mods on mine....different alignment, uniball bushings, better tires, normal tweaks. The car is very quick, but still comfortable and while not a practical car like my truck, it puts the best smile on my face every time I drive it. Oh....and it gets great gas mileage too ;-) Sadly cars like the 4C or this GTAm are last of their kind now that governments have decided that EVs are the way to go....not happy about that ;-( By the way a member of my ALFA club has a real original GTA with a 1600 cc engine and the aluminum body. That indeed is a very fast car....amazing that a 60 year old car can blow the doors off the latest hot cars (although he is a very fast driver).

Oh no you made me do it again, started looking for an Alfa after a disaster ownership many year ago of a 156 that looked a stylish car with the leather and analog clock and beautiful ride handling . But then started the dreaded knocking ( new engine and gear box needed) never looked back until now….
