A variant of the Hemingway trick is "Park your car at a slope". In the evening, make sure that the next task in the morning is easy, so that you can effortlessly slide back into work, just as a car parked on a slope starts rolling when you loosen the hand-brake. I found this very helpful when I had to organize my work without any incentive from the outside during my PhD.

Winning combination is to give your viewers the thing they want to see. Being a KZfaqr is business, and business owners give people products/services that people need in their life. It's practically the same. And when the growth becomes real, you can consider hiring people to help you run your channel more efficiently. The most difficult part is starting and growing of course, but consistency and hard work (with a little bit of Famester to help) will always pay off at the end. Good luck to everyone, I really hope you are all going to succeed one day.

I've read the introduction and first chapter of the book. First of all. Reading the introduction itself felt soo good. It was very inspiring and i felt even more excited to read the full book once I read the introduction. The first chapter was amazing and applying the lessons only from the first chapter can make a big difference. I'll keep on commenting the more I read this book. Cause it will make it a bit more fun (PLAY).

A thing I learned early on thanks to my search for a system for myself to help cope with my inability to properly filter out stimuli around me, I learned it is easier for me to focus on something that I feel more pull towards. For example, I needed to work on my history course final paper, but I felt a larger pull to working on a creative endeavor at the time. By working on the latter first, I found it easier to shift to doing the paper after when I lost the pull or “motivation” to work on the original project. In the past when I did the opposite, I struggled to even work on the paper as well as it took twice as long to work on the assignment as it should have realistically.

Great ideas! I use the party idea when working on my admin tasks and the party mindset to get myself to sit down and work. I start my workday by quoting a song from, I believe, The Beastie Boys, “The Party Starts Now!” I focus best with hard rock music. Fortunately, I work from home and have the freedom to do what works best for me. Thank you for your outstanding videos. I purchased your book and I am looking forward to reading it.

I didn’t know the name of the Ready-To-Resume focusing productive activity. However, I have been using it on my copywriting job - without knowing anything about it. I will be working and then my hand will get tired of hand writing those copies. So I’ll take breaks. And after some moments of break, I would then ask myself some questions like “what should I do next? And how much should I complete the work? (Because there’s a lot of job which I can’t do in a day so…). But I have to say this: it’s working well. Pretty well. Now that you’ve shared them with your audience, I’m super happy about the people’s enthusiasm and result stories that they’ll share with you in the comment section!🎉❤ Edited version. I freaking loved those scientific proof that you’ve shared in this video. I don’t know whether you’ve been sharing them on your recent videos because you know I’m now working a lot more than I used to and didn’t have the time to check your videos. Anyways, kudos for that brother!

Interesting take on Point #2 which is the type of music that you listen to! I try to listen to a constant noise to keep my focus in check, and nothing loud or orchestra spams with instruments blaring in the background. To write though, I need silence which lets me tap into my higher brain functions to write some words like what I am doing now.

Hey! I have your book and I am currently reading it. I also watch a lot of your videos and have started using some of your strategies. I am a ER Nurse and worked as a Paramedic on an ambulance before that. My schedule isnt always consistent. I work three 12 hour shifts a week...either 11am-11pm or 3pm-3am...it varies. Would you be able to make a video with tip for people working 12 hour shifts...especially mid-shifts and night shifts...I guess on how to stay productive and not worn down so much? I am working on implementing different things but I still havent found an optimal routine. Thank you so much for all of your advice!

And still nothing seems to work for me because of my adhd :( It always works in the first run but every system fails me after a small amount of time. The only thing that worked for me the best (but still not perfectly) is multitasking. As switching from tasks to tasks keeps me focused and in the flow but I often get distrected in more meaningless tasks than the harder ones. I would really love to see a video how to be still efficient with multitasking! ❤ You might not be neurodiverse but as somone who has studied medicine might understand it somehow how its like for our brains 😅

Dear Ali, I'm a big admirer and follower of your work. I've been following you for a long time and have a great deal of respect for your achievements. I'm passionate about video editing and would love to start my own online video editing business. However, due to limited resources, I haven't been able to get started yet. I currently lack access to a smartphone or laptop, which are essential tools for this field. I understand this is a big request, but I would be incredibly grateful if you could consider helping me acquire a laptop. Having this equipment would allow me to pursue my passion for video editing and finally launch my business. Thank you for your time and consideration.

*Key takeaways from the video:* The video is about improving focus. It emphasizes that the ability to focus is a skill that can be learned. The video outlines five actionable tips to improve focus: 1. *Make a ready to resume plan:* When you need to switch between tasks, take a moment to create a plan for resuming the first task. This will help you to minimize attention residue, the lingering effects of the first task on your ability to focus on the second task. An example of creating a ready to resume plan is stopping in the middle of a sentence when writing. 2. *Listen to 40Hz binaural beats:* Binaural beats are auditory illusions created by playing two slightly different frequencies into each ear. Some research suggests that listening to 40Hz binaural beats can improve focus. 3. *Declutter your workspace:* Physical and digital clutter can be distracting and make it difficult to focus. The video suggests setting aside 10 minutes to declutter your workspace before starting a focused work session. 4. *Use the 90/20 rule:* The 90/20 rule suggests that we should work in 90-minute intervals followed by 15-30 minute breaks. This is because our brains tend to operate in 90-minute cycles, with alertness declining after 90 minutes of focused work. 5. *Batch similar tasks together:* Color-coding your calendar to group similar tasks together can help you to improve focus by minimizing context switching. Context switching is the mental effort required to switch between different tasks.
