In 2137, fifteen years after the events of Alien, Amanda Ripley, daughter of Ellen Ripley, is approached by Weyland-Yutani synthetic Christopher Samuels, who informs her that the flight recorder of the Nostromo was recently located by a ship named the Anesidora and is being held aboard Sevastopol, a remote free port space station owned by the Seegson Corporation, in orbit around the gas giant KG348. Samuels offers Amanda a place on the Weyland-Yutani team sent to retrieve it, so that she can have closure regarding the fate of her missing mother. Ripley, Samuels, and Weyland-Yutani executive Nina Taylor, travel to Sevastopol on board the courier ship known as the Torrens, owned by Captain Verlaine. The group arrive at Sevastopol to find the station damaged and its communications module damaged. Ripley, Samuels, and Taylor attempt to spacewalk over to the station to investigate, but their EVA line is severed by debris, and Ripley is separated from them and forced to enter the station on her own.

I've seen bits and pieces of these "Reel" films before, so I subscribed. I've just never had the time to watch a complete film. Well, I finally watched this one. Wow, just wow. I have to say, this was easily the most well done game movie I've ever seen! I'm at a loss for words! It felt like I was actually watching an Alien movie! The amount of effort put into this is mind blowing! I really don't know what to say. That was just perfect! Just, wow!

Well thanks! They can be a lot of fun to put together even if they do take forever. Looking at your thumbnail you have what appears to be a image of the master chief, correct? TheNerdyJane IKR!! but the one thing that bothered me about this game was that Ripley had a daughter named "Amanda", in the first movie of Alien she never mentioned she had a daughter, hell she never mentioned she was married or was in a relationship with someone.

Grombolin I went an entire year with only 40 subscribers to show for it. The fact I now have 1600 is amazing to me. I would be lying if I said I didn't want more, but I'm very humbled that I have what I have. I have no plans on stopping anytime soon! Thank you so much for the kind words.

So glad I've found this! If you don't know this game has been made into a book, and that book is available on audible along with all the alien move novelisations and many other alien theme books including some alien/predator stuff too.

Oh, I see what you did. Freaking amazing work there. I was searching hard to find a typical game movie with cutscenes and some gameplay, you know, the typical stuff, but without subtitles. Most channels on youtube have stupid forced subtitles which ruins the cinema experience. Then I found this without subs so started watching and then noticed something amazing; your version is far more than the standard game movie. You did something else to yours that can only be described as Movie Magic! You do the game and the original film a great honor here.

Great effort here.. thinking about showing this as a movie on our projector... Only thing I wish was in it was at least part of the scene where she goes to Medical to get the supplies... the doctor coming face to face with the alien was dramatic enough... Is there going to be an extended version? (lol) Otherwise... great work... most of these was pretty seamless and flowed

+d0nKsTaH Yeah, I wanted to include medical really bad, (I particularly liked the Alien reveal in that area along with the explosion when it stands over Ripley; two beautiful shots) but doing so would have lengthened the film by 30 minutes because I couldn't find any smooth transition that would have made a lot of sense. Because it didn't play a huge role in the story and would have made the film even longer, I decided to remove it.

this was amazing man... i loved the way you treated the visual(side to side, points of interest etc.) as though it were you and not ripley. i love to play that way in order to feel more connected to the game and make it feel like i am the character.

This was very well done. Great job with this. With the work you did? It makes me go 'only an Alien Trilogy exists...Alien, this one, and Aliens'. Excellent job, loved it enough to make my own personal little Fan Cut of this movie for my own viewing pleasure to put onto a DVD-R (with my own little touches/additions/musical stuff/etc. to it) so I can watch on my TV. It makes for a great triple feature of Alien, this one, and Aliens.

Great job, after watching the whole thing i'm overwhelmed, in terms of editing creativity the scenes on Anesidora are probably most spectacular. Also i noticed improved audio quality and additional movie soundtracks. Riddick would say 'Outstanding'. KZfaq should have an extra category for things like that because it's hard to find and acknowledge among the millions of dumb gaming uploads. If this trend proceeds this kind of art could be finally a dead end for any movie creator who has to put much effort in his work. I'm not talking about financial aspects, it's about the overall interest.

HorizonX5 It was a masterpiece. I love that you included clips from the CG trailers to give visual flavor. All of the extra angles and added music made the scenes so much more intense. And I like how you handled the 'multiple endings' by keeping a tight pace between all of them. By the time it was over, the climax felt like an actual climax. You actively improved the story. This was your best work! I can't wait to see how you top it the next time around!

There was a lot of pacing issues with the actual game, and what's awesome about turning these games into films is that there are moments you can actual fix some of those problems and maybe at the same time tell the story better. I actually would recommend people watch the 'Reel' movie and then play the game. I think it would almost make for a better experience.

Well done HorizonX5. You have created an incredible movie. While the scenes with the ships were not up to par with the latest graphics but it truly help connecting the scenes. Tensions were high and the atmosphere was terrific. You have a creative mind. Keep it up.

Just reading this comment now a year later! ;) I put the Queen in because it felt like the reason for the nest and eggs needed to be explained and for the audience to know there was in fact a Queen on board. But before putting it in the film I had to be sure that a Queen was supposed to be there, and not as some fans had suggested, the humans were turned into eggs like in the original fiction for Alien that never made it into the final cut of the film. So I looked up a interview with one of the games developers who confirmed the nest was a result of a Queen being on the ship. Once it was confirmed I looked everywhere for original works of the queen that I might be able to use, but couldn't find anything. Finally I had to settle on the promotional material used for Aliens:Colonial Marines. Then I had to rework the scream of the queen using sound clips of different alien screams, combined them together until it sounded right. Wanted it to sound more powerful. I know it isn't perfect, but it's what I had to work with. Had this clip existed I would have begged its creator to use it. kzfaq.info/get/bejne/oZp6idlqmb2agYU.html God that would have been cool.

I loved it, as well. I even enjoyed the old shots of the ships; it felt like I was looking at an old computer monitor from the films. The slow shots of the Alien were spectacular, much like the original. Those slow, deliberate movements were way more suspenseful than how loud and abruptly the alien stomps around in the game. With the addition of the Queen and the promotional footage in their, it really feels like the truest sequel to Alien.

That pistol in the game is based on the Chiappa Rhino revolver. Anybody who's into their guns check it out on KZfaq...a revolutionary but unpopular revolver personally I think the real thing looks cool and futuristic that's why it was chosen for this game I guess...

honestly dude im really one of a fan of gameplay like this and this is one of the best gameplay ive ever seen..feels like im watching hardcore henry.. its actually a movie but i like it dude...keep it up. i hope this is not the first and the last one you make a game movie... ^_^

+Tham Carlo It will NOT be the last game movie I make. I'm currently working on Halo 2 and I recently finished Halo 1. I even have plans to expand the channel to make more movies in the future. And thank you for getting what I'm trying to do with these films. I get a lot of people who don't get it or don't understand why I cut stuff or change the order of things...I really do appreciate it.

+Vincent S Thanks for the suggestions. The surround sound would be something I look into the future, but it's difficult when I'm the one doing all the editing to implement it. If I had a team working on these movies I probably could. As for the absence of subtitles, I've never been a fan of them and feel they ruin the cinematic experience. I'm aware that many of my viewers don't speak English as a first language, but there are plenty of alternative game film makers that people can watch who do include them. (In fact, most everyone else includes them). I'm trying to offer up something a little different. I don't want it to sound like I'm lecturing or anything, just making a artist choice on what to include and not include. Thanks again for enjoying the film despite those few things! I truly enjoy constructive criticism!

You should do game movie of one of the games in the bioshock series. Because that would be amazing and you would even more amazing than you already are if you do that. Unless you've already done one of the bioshock games. But you should do that. Amazing job on this one by the way.

My only complaint is that it didn't show how ripley got the omnitool. There was a missed opportunity to show a "shot just got really real" moment. That's my only complaint

+Asif Rahman Thanks, Asif! I would love to produce REAL films, and maybe that will happen in the future; it's a dream of mine. What I'm working on now for the next 'REEL' film is actually pretty close to an actual film. The amount of work it takes to build scenes from scratch is no wonder they have entire teams putting them together. Thanks for all the support! I really appreciate it!

Just bought the game after watching your film and am waiting for the sun to go down to start playing. Keep up the great work; love your channel. Wish they'd come out with a new Fatal Frame game just to see what you could do with that franchise in a Reel Movie. Crimson Butterfly scared the piss outta me.

i loved ur hard work the flow of the game had an uneasy atmosphere as the first movie had i have loved the franchise and without it Dead Space may never have happened u have done a great job and i wish u the best in future endeavors i can't help but think so much about what i caught glimpses of and i will not spoil for anyone so i will keep secrecy because in space no one can hear you scream

This is my first Alien Game Movie I have watched... very well done. I am very disappointed that the franchise won't spend any more time on the creators ship. I just wanted to see more and learn more about them. Wh at do the creators call themselves and where is their home plant. Are there anymore survivors of that race and why the hell did they created that mass reproducing killing monster? I need closure damn it. Why did the Alien franchise creators this elaborate story but won't give us an origin. Alien was terrorizing. Prometheus offered some clarity but I won't more. Am I the only one who's thirsty for this story.

This was very well put together, but unfortunately it's harder to watch than other versions of this game movie because you're turning too quickly which just takes you out of the 'movie' style moment. Not sure if there is a way to use a lower sensitivity in future movies (or this one) on console, which is a shame because otherwise this would easily have been the best version.

This is a very nice video; however, I would prefer you only use clips from the game... the other stuff just looks out of place, and spoils the effect, IMHO. However, big plus for getting rid of the subtitles, which helps it feel much more like watching an actual movie.

I'll echo recent comments that your efforts to make this story a gripping viewing experience blow away the IGN digital series. That said, do you have plans to incorporate any of that material (alternate angles, establishing shots, bookend scenes, etc.) into an updated version of this? I imagine pretty much every new head-on shot of Amanda is out due to the atrocious lip synch and complete lack of resemblance to the original character. Or does the watermarking on that series preclude ANY utilization of the new "footage"?

Thank you! KZfaq is relatively a new medium as far as movie producers are concerned, and sadly for every good video that someone puts out there is ten more that suck. It's hard for them to trust the type of content that would be produced. That being said, there are time that they clearly don't understand the material they are working with and don't give it the respect it deserves. The Alien franchise is a prime example of this, whether we are talking about the games or movies.
