Alien Isolation does have a Queen, you just deliberately never run into her because the game was less "action orientated". The writers and developers of the game confirmed it, so there's no need to argue for her presence, she's down there. Egg morphing makes sense from the perspective of the xenomorph species having a survival mechanism that kicks in or takes time to develop due to not sensing or having a local queen around. Therefore it does make sense if the xenomorph can capture humans and then use them for the molting and morphing phase which let's say can accelerate their aging as a single species but once done and the xenomorph has incubated a couple of humans or four of them maybe five then at that point the xenomorph has fulfilled its survival mechanism and becomes ready to diminish and die as it grows weaker while at the same time giving it some extra fight and maybe extra purpose when facing off additional humans that may pose a challenge given the situation that the humans don't have an effective weapon to destroy the xenomorph quickly. Thus a xenomorph queen could be developed from a base xenomorph after multiple normal eggs are made and one is selected for some additional special DNA/RNA substances excreted by the base xenomorph so that an alien xenomorph queen egg can develop into a face hugger and so on but let's also say that once the alien queen xenomorph is spawned off the host, it may not immediately be as strong as the base xenomorph but will eventually become so and then surpass it probably by "eating" more humans? Or just however it works because that is a plot hole as to how xenomorph species get any feed or if they just don't need it at all? I'm sure the filmmakers have these angles and then the purpose of this film is to make money off the so called alien xenomorph and face hugger fans who whined about Prometheus not having the same tropes and characters cause they just wanted another slasher movie in space.

I like the egg morphing cycle; if there is no queen or warrior to become a queen, the worker makes eggs soon as it can snatch a host. Also had to mention the alien requiem quote of ‘maybe the queen was there all along but the lighting was too bad’ had me rolling.

I was never a fan of the hive/queen concept in Alien… the design looked silly too lol. It made it less scary for me. It made me think of them as bugs or crustaceans. lol

Another prequel, proto-weaponry, lead female Ripley mimic, recapturing of the alien jettisoned out into space by young Ripley....there had better be some super sick ass story in there. The horror better be ultra amplified.

One of the reasons why I love the alien franchise is because it has arguably the best female lead in a movie, who is also arguably one of the best leading characters in any film. I love that alien gave us a genuinely compelling female protagonist and hope we have another strong lead romulus!

Saw ALIEN at the theaters when I was around 12. My favorite sci-fi franchise by far. I even think that Alien 3 is an underrated classic. Beat Isolation on Nightmare mode. Could not possibly care less about this movie.

It would be nice to see an alien queen that spawns from another foreign host to show variety in the hive. Perhaps Romulus has animals being studied from other planets and that's the perfect opportunity to show various forms of the xenomorph.

Could also be a bolt gun intended for use in space. They used bolt guns in out of the shadows as well.

I believe that chep in the end of the first film was going into hibernation to morph into a queen to preserve its species since it was the only xenomorph on the ship so going with the theory of chep being discovered by the company it is possible that it is continuing its goal to create a complete hive

The developers of Alien Isolation hinted there was in fact a queen, we just never see her, only hear her in specific parts of the game. Being that there was a massive nest with eggs deep in Sevastopol, I'd say Amanda was just lucky enough not to cross her path. Of course egg morphing could be the possibility, but I'm more inclined towards there being a hidden/unseen queen. I read the developers wanted the game to fit more with the feel of the first film and so I'd say that had something to do with not including a visible queen. A visible queen would also likely lead to a "boss" fight which would be more inline with Aliens and not really fit the core of what they were trying to do with Alien Isolation. Such a great game. It's been a while since a Queen has been on the big screen in full, the trappings that allude to one seem to be present so I'd put some money on one showing up in Romulus. Would be awesome :)

Given the number of facehuggers we encounter in the movie, it seems logical that an egg-layer is involved at some point. However, I have my suspicions about it being a queen. Simply because these facehuggers are notably different - appearing considerably darker. So I reckon the egg-layer in question is the by-product of an experiment/mutation

I always thought Dallas the host for the new queen. For some reason the Allan Dean Foster novel had him about to produce a chestburster (that Cameron then used in his scene that he put in Aliens) that was the spark to make Ripley snap out of it and fire him up. The fog of time might have warped this, but always thought it took the larger, domed 'Big Chap' to produce a queen who would then go on to create the domeless warriors.

If you have not seen it or know about it when Ripley goes after that Screaming Child “newt” and she walks into the hive section it’s the surprise of this massive creature that turns out to be a Queen. Here’s a theory for you… if Big Chap survived in space all this time. That means the queen survived after being tossed out the airlock of the Sulaco at the end of the 2nd film. Would be nice for Fede or some other director to do a post alien 3 pre resurrection film or story.

Egg morphing is the link to the black goo in the later movies. Molecular breakdown and regeneration. Alien uses it to create its own kind.

I do hope this has certain callbacks as it seems like if they do them correctly they can have some decent fan service Also i know its not been touched on for some time but i kinda do hope one day we do get a eggmorphing scene in a alien film soon The idea of the scene is that since there is no queen there would be no egg production so the drone would begin to use the eggmorphing process to not only make the eggs but also hive webbing I believe somewhere in the depths of alien lore the xenomorphs do use leftover biomass (primarily from host remains) to make the hive webbing when theres not much else left

This is why I like this channel... Speculate, conversate but never spoil. I feel like the egg morphing can still be at play if the Alien Drone is the only alien. It takes time for this to happen. This isn't just once the alien is born it begins morphing. I feel like its job once born is to feed, grow, build a nest. If an extended amount of time passes with no queen the alien can slowly morph a living body in an egg to create either a face hugger that has the ability to lay a queen egg or morph the egg into a queen. Either or could work, but it has to be insect-like with this ability. That drone's are born to just, feed, grow, and support the queen, in the event no queen is born, it shifts after a time to help create the queen. Perhaps the process is incomplete, since we have never seen the process and only have a deleted scene to go by. What if at a later moment in this process the alien drone merges with the morphing egg and the end result is a queen. IDK. Something both very alien, new, bizarre, other worldly while still making sense in both the established lore and/or pseudo-cannon from the deleted scene.

It feels to me we are going to get the first strong sequel to alien/aliens in a very long time, I think it will be a great film although not groundbreaking, more of a love letter to the first two with an awareness of how many of us grew up wanting this niche filled, that said I think we will see some very strong new twists alongside the homage that kick-start a new desire and love for a continued franchise, and all this being said I hope I’m right about some things and wrong about others, my favourite element is the queen and hive, I think it will be concluded with some dark twist. Perhaps the final girl is the queen host with a suicide detonation sequence, etc etc.

There were multiple face-huggers chasing people down a hallway one of the earlier trailers and it would be a plot hole for them to come from the derelict, so that either confirms another queen out there somewhere or egg-morphing can produce much larger batches than I had thought.

Egg-morphing is far more terrifying imho. Every Xeno then, becomes a “Queen”, in that you dare not even let _one_ survive as it could still propagate its species. With the Queen method, once the Queen is dead, (ergo no more eggs), there is no way for the Xenos to spread. It ruins the urgency.

It worries me that they are trying too hard to emulate ALIENS, I hope is one of those tease trailers that use scenes that don't show up in the movie

"Alien " left us these amazing questions - especially of the Space jocky- who were they? What kind of world would produce this kind of asthetic , .Ridley for ME increasingly lost his way with answers I didn't ask for or want. But I am hopeful with this film - but it looks like we still are right back to the same questions - exciting questions but no further on.... " I want to go where THEY came from" - in my mind a trully dystopian , Gigeresque hellish homeworld.....destined to remain only in my imagination.

According to rumours from the script writers,Neill Blomkamp movie was about the Sulaco ship drifting in space after the emergencypods were released.On the ship there were a xenomorph hidden in the lower basement of the spaceship.After fifty years they are detected by another ship bringing colonists to a new terraformed planet for humans.They send in two robots to investigate.They find traces of dna in the ships database,and clones Hicks,Ripley and Newt. But as clones they don't remember anything of the events that took place in the alien3 movie. When they arrive at the colonists destinyplanet,the xenomorph starts to lay eggs. Then all humans on the planets are attacked and a war breaks out.Ripley,Hicks and Newt manages to escape in a spaceship they find in a cave. It is a engineer spaceship that takes them to the engineers homeplanet called"Paradise".But when they have left the spaceship,a deacon crawls out and makes a cliffhanger for a followup movie 😀

I'm worried that in our infantilized times, that lead actor will be a 20-something going on 15. Even in the OG Alien, Ripley was obviously a mature, experienced adult.

The egg-morphing concept was Giger's final and most nightmarish vision of disgust, pain, and suffering imaginable in the alien's lifecycle and has to be the worst way to die. The victim is immobilized in a puddle of genetic material and slowly dissolves (much like a venus flytrap) to feed the egg that's slowing growing around you and the future facehugger. As the victim is dissolving, it is melding on a molecular level with dna being transferred both ways while your skin starts to become part of the egg. The victim only needs to be barely alive actually for it to work, but the process would be long and painful before you finally die. Dissolving into goo while partially conscious is terrifying and should be more fully explored by someone. It was Giger's parting shot to us.

I'd adore the long awaited return of Egg Morphing, its such a exotic and deeply disturbing concept. Wont complain at a queen but I would rather not have her, she centralises the threat in a way that works great but those stories has been told plenty of times across the films, games and comics. I'd rather a queenless story that has the base Alien form front and centre, with something like egg morphing or a new/unexplained/ambigious way of producing facehuggers.

I'm still worried it's just going to be a rehash of set pieces and ideas from the first two movies (now apparently confirmed by the director, too) ... but without any idea what made those great, namely characters. If that turns out to be true, of course there will be a queen or some variation of that.

I don’t mind egg morphing at all. This is the ultimate life form after all. Why be limited to only one way to reproduce?

I'd like to see an egg laying system that isn't a queen... Or if there is a queen I hope it's different to the one in Aliens, perhaps something less insect and more gigeresque. Since the Xenomorphs have always been noticeably different in design and behaviour depending on how they were created or modified, I'd like to see different reproduction cycles for them too. We know both Big Chap and a different type of Xenomorph will be in this film, so I don't think they should always have the same type of queen, or even necessarily always have one.

The better question would be why should there be not a Queen? If Weyland Yutani is getting a Xenomorph doesnt matter what type then there is a good Chance that a Queen is created, the Queen did grow in Hadleys Hope in Weeks so when the Crew is getting into the Station, the Station could already be abonded or Alone for Weeks or even Months and this would defenetly be engouth time for the Xenomorphs to create a New Queen

We certainly have the beginning of a Hive, we certainly could see some kind of Cocoons in the Hive that give birth to maybe a Xenomorph or used as a Molting Stage to Adult. But I just don't know if we will see a Queen in this Movie. If we do it will either be a New Born Stage (Chest Burster) or very early Stage and towards the end of the Movie. But I suspect that we will see something NEW... but maybe not something entirely new if we look at unused ideas/concept work

The predalien in AvPR was a praetorian, it was going to molt into a queen, and the hive existed in anticipation of its metamorphosis. So, in every single instance in the theatrical cuts, yes, hives have only existed in service to a queen. For the eggmorphing thing, the cost/benefit trade off doesn't really make a lot of sense if you think about it. Sure, a single drone can turn one host into an egg which can then turn another into an incubator for a burster, but that's two hosts for one alien. It's other option is just to... wait... and then if it's the only individual it will eventually molt into a praetorian and then a queen no matter what, and at the praetorian stage a single host can give birth to multiple bursters. So why ever eggmorph at all? There's more to the eggmorphing thing that writers have been reluctant to say anything about because nowadays all the EU stuff is too terrified to step on the toes of the movies because everything has to be "cannon" or some other stupid bullshit, and of course the movies are never written by anyone who actually understands the larger mythology of the franchise so they keep fucking up all the cool ideas the writers of the novels and comics and games come up with. Of course you know all about that, you've read Destroying Angels. Whatever the true purpose of eggmorphing is, we may never know, but I do not for a second buy that it just creates a single new ordinary XX121 ovomorph. I can prove that too: look at the egg in the scene of the director's cut - that's NOT the same egg in the cargo hold, it's the original one Giger designed with only a single slit at the top. It's a different kind of egg. For the possibility of a queen in the movie, honestly I fully expect one. We haven't seen a queen in the films for 20 years, we're pretty overdue, and the large demographic of AlienS-only bros only care about seeing macho men shoot guns at video game bosses and happy endings, they don't want any of the weird *alien* shit, they can't understand any of that. So, yeah, expect a slow paced slasher movie but with a drone alien in it instead of a dude with a knife just like the first movie, which in the third act turns into a final boss fight in the hive. I mean I'm not a prophet or anything, but... like come on, you know that's what they're going to do. This is Hollywood we're talking about here. The only real open question I have is what the nature of these aliens and the queen will be. Because remember we're supposed to be getting reverse engineered aliens made from the black goo, not the original XX121 species. They LOOK nearly identical from what we've seen, but so did the hybrids from Resurrection and the Predator-bred strain in the AvP movies. Hell, they used the praetomorph suit as a stand-in for an adult XX121 in the 40th anniversary shorts. All those species had a number of differences from the original and we should expect that the aliens in this movie will have some kind of weird "twist" to what we expect... and I'm not just talking about the faster incubation times that seem to be the default for new alien species, they're probably going to save some sort of mutation of some kind that adds an asterisk to the lifecycle in the third act. Y'know, when they get into the hive, at the point where the Lovecraft protagonists *all start to talk in italics because they got to the cosmic horror punchline.* So it may not be a queen *per se* but it will serve the same functional purpose as a queen story wise, whatever they end up doing as the big final firefight. And then more than one character will survive and will have a happy ending. Soary aboot being so pessimistic but... after the last two movies, putting teenagers in the one before that, Disney buying the IP, and all the trailers for Romulus being so fucking boring... it's genuinely difficult for me to get excited about this movie or be optimistic. At this point the bar is so low that all they need to do to get a thumbs up from me is not have any creationist propaganda in it. Oh, and for it to make sense.

I would really like to expand on the mythology of Prometheus and the Engineers. I was fascinated by them and felt Covenant was such a disappointment to me…

It’s not super relevant but the Predalien has been confirmed to have been a Juvenile Queen, so it was propagating a hive around itself alongside its brood, and Sevastopol has been confirmed to have had a Queen aboard in Isolation, so both these speculations were correct!

Also i think the xenomorphs egg sack is portraid as being way to solid, i think it should bulge between the claws or like the xenomorph resin is stretched holding the heavy egg sack. Whould also prefer if being way more thicc, imo it always looks WAY to skinny and small.
