In your review of the AW3420 one of your cons was that switching between your personal and work laptop was a pain as the monitor would not recognize it and you had to manually do the switch to HDMI. Has that been solved here with the move to DP 1.4 and HDMI 2.0? I also switch computers frequently, and if the 27th inch does not have a problem that would also be huge plus for it in my book. Thanks for the review.

Thanks for watching the videos! It actually hasn’t been solved, but I’ve chosen to deal with it because I like the monitor so much. I think you can get a switcher from Amazon to help with this

@@MoeTechReviews And I take it you still prefer the AW2721D over the widescreen AW3420? I have never used an ultrawide, but I’m tempted. The AW3420 is down to $775, but the AW2721D is down to $700, so it is still cheaper. And my video card is a 3060ti, by the way, so I’m worried about the additional pixels of the ultrawide for the frames.

Yes I definitely prefer the Aw2721d, I wasn’t a fan of the ultra wide experience after trying it. I would rather go with a 2 monitor setup.

Should I pick that one or the G7? I am interested for a monitor that I will be able to see HDR series-movie content (ie Netflix) besides gaming. My laptop is Alienware M15 R5 (Ryzen 7-5800H/16GB/1TB/GeForce RTX 3060/FHD 165Hz). What would you suggest me?

I haven’t tried the G7, but on paper The AW2721D has 100+ more HDR nits, so it’s brighter in HDR content, I also like the flat design of the Alienware more Than the curved G7

It has a fan for the Gsync module and a fan in general I believe but they are completely silent I haven’t heard them

I have nvidia 3080 will it struggle in extreme? I’m new and thinking of getting this monitor, is definitely an upgrade from my 1080p 144hz va panel.

I went from 42 inch oled lg c2 to this andcim glad i did oled c2 is best for console gaming and this monitor has made such a positive impact its brilliant for 1440p gaming with a 3080 rig games look beautiful still even down from 4k my temps are lower and the games still amazing i even tried the ps5 on it 1440p and god of ragnarok still looks amazing.

@@quitdumbshit7295 My main platform is PC but was on PS5 other day pissing round on APEX 1440p it was quick felt smooth but the PS5 will be used on my OLED C2 for exclusives tho 4k and 1440p for me I see no difference in how they look I think its down to the TV or monitor you have that makes the games look good for console OLED C1 OR C2 42 INCH OR 48 for pc gaming A2721D its an expensive monitor but its a great piece of hardware the PS5 looks no different from my oled c2 4k I was amazed how good the games look in 1440p smaller image means better I think but the games on ps5 looked great on the monitor.

Not this one! PS5 doesn't output a native 1440p signal and this monitor doesn't convert 4k. If you plug in a PS5, youll get 1080p.

After some advice and apologies in advance, I am thick so this tech stuff goes over my head a bit so please dumb down answers and make them as plain as possible!! I have a Razerblade 14 laptop. It has a AMD Ryzen 9, 5900 with a Geforce 3070. No idea what any of that really means, but I want a gaming monitor to play fast FPS games like the new COD on. I like this one, but I am concerned that it won't work properly (or certainly to its full potential) due to not having a proper display port (deduced on my reading from reviews etc). Can someone tell me in short, whether this monitor would work to its full potential if it was connected by a USB C or normal USB port? I feel like the answer may be no and therefore it not be worth buying as People keep saying something about a thunder port which my laptop sadly does not have. I am massively confused and out of my depth with all this stuff so if someone could clarify I would be massively grateful as my reading and video watching only seems to confuse me further. Its all like another language.🤣

Check if there is a cap within the game on FPS, also you can try to play around with the settings until you hit that 240

Need to see the Motion Blur 😅 ---> People think that if it's a great 1440P IPS display, it's probably going to be as good as other Alienware models using TN panels. Unfortunately, it seems that motion blur is very noticeable. A customer who plays nervous games will find that this characteristic is problematic.

Hi, I just bought this monitor 2 days ago but I have some issues with the power cord which disconnect when I want to change the orientation of my monitor ... Do you have the same issue ? It seems that the power cord cant be plug properly... its so annoying Edit : I can't do this with it 2:50 it will unplug the power cord ......... 😐😐

Just because it has a big color gamut range does not make it color accurate. Being color accurate means that each color would be reproduced just like it's meant to be reproduced - and this monitor is the opposite of that, with ultra saturated images because it does not have a sRGB native mode - so basically any sRGB content you display (which is basically most the content out there) will be 'extended' on to the P3 color gamut, which should not happen. Also, P3 color gamut is not for 'professional work' unless one has a DCI-P3/10bit/HDR workflow (very few actually use that, vast majority is using sRGB). And no, the panel cannot reach 1ms, if you check the real tests it reaches 7.1ms total response time (or 2.6ms gray2gray). 7ms response time hardly has anything in common with 1ms, but then all the other panels on the market are pretty much the same, in the 6-8ms response time range. On this panel specifically, it's sad that the 7.1ms response time comes with ~28% overshoot error rate, which is way too high.

I bought this monitor but I kind of regret it. Not that I don't like it, it's just I realized even with my 3080 nothing really comes close to 240fps except for e-sports titles which I don't play much of.

Well, you should've taken it into consideration.. But atleast you have a good display, and maybe someday graphics cards will be capable of pushing 1440p monitors to 240fps.
