These interviews are great! I can't believe how much I have been enjoying interviews with Alison during this anniversary year. Have been loving rewatching the episodes on cable I used to watch in after school reruns. Am really appreciating the show I loved so much as an adult and the performances of the cast- especially talented comedians like those who brilliantly played Nellie and her Mother.

I love Alison! Right now me and my husband are watching Little House on Prime. We’re in season 5 right now and Mary and Adam moved the blind school to Walnut grove with the help of Pa, Joe, and Harriet. Then they meet the train and Mrs. Terhune helps with the rest of the kids. One of my favorite episodes. When they send the kids over on a line and then it’s Harriet’s turn how she screams and cries makes me giggle! I can hear her saying “for heavens sake” and to this day I say that because of her! I love Little House and The Waltons. My two favorite shows ❤❤ I love the fact that Alison is such a sweetheart in real life and I watch her a lot doing different things on KZfaq. The other night I watched Team Little House against Team Waltons playing games and it was a lot of fun.

I’ve just hit series 6. As a child I detested Mrs Oleson and was pretty scared of her but now I absolutely love her! Katherine is a fine actor and she has me howling with laughter. 😂

Great interview! I enjoyed every part, but one of my favorite things in TV and movies is ad lib. That was one of the things I hadn’t heard about LHOP before. I’d have never guessed that Jonathan was one of the best at it. Alison, you did such a fantastic job making us all just love to hate Nellie! (But I’ll never come up to you and kick you in the shins! 😉 - reference to another interview 😂) And yet, I really loved the moments in which your character became open and vulnerable (albeit so rare), like when Nellie told Luke Sims that she didn’t know whether she was good enough for him. It’s brought a tear to my eye! 🥲 I’ve thought that they should have let them stay married. 😉 But then we’d have had to miss out on Perceval. That was a hoot!

Wish you could have sent that in to ask Alison at the time, maybe if she comes back at some point.

Would Be a Good Thing is Little House Was Brought Back (as is the Trend With Reviving Old Shows, ) Doesnt Matter if THE TOWN BURNED DOWN, ,, That Could Be Explained in a Dream Sequence as DALLAS Did Years Ago With Their Cliffhanger!!. The New Show Could Focus On Nellie & Her Children, & How Cute Would it Be For Nellies Daughter To Be Even Brattier Than She Was!! Also Laura, Almanzo, Rose , Mary, Carrie, Grace, There Are So Many Characters To Work With ... Rose Would Be a Great Focal Point as She Was a Famous Book Writer & Worked For a Newspaper!!!!

It would be an all black cast! (As is so common for reboots past decade!)

Technically Allison is wrong in 1974. I'm pretty sure cable tv did exist in some form. I'm pretty sure HBO debuted in 1973. But there was a early version of cable.

Little House received 17 Emmy nominations and won 4. Of the 17, there was only one nomination for acting - for Melissa Sue Anderson in the Lead Actress category in 1978 (she didn't win).

9:38 I’m not sure that she’s right. I read somewhere that the reason Laura’s brother, son and grandson died was due to a genetic ‘glitch’ in the family.

May We Make Them Proud was one of the best made episodes. BUT...my heart CANNOT, CANNOT, CANNOT handle when Alice Garvey and the baby become trapped upstairs! I can't, I can't, I can't!

I thought at first the fact that Little House never getting any nominations or awards might have been an anti Christian values thing bu Hollywood. Especially in the seventies. But when Alison said the Emmys was not on the same network I guess back then it made more sense.

I understand that you asked for a raise and they did not budge and you left the show but how did you end up getting back on the show with Nancy and the return of Nellie oleson

My question would be: do you and the other child actors feel like you missed out on an education since you were acting as kids, and young adults....

Good question, I am sure the answer varies depending on what their experience was like as a child actor😀
