I just realized that every finalist from the last 10 years is actually a world champion now. The last finalist not to become world champion was Andy Hamilton in 2012.

The PDC world championship is by far my favorite darts tournament, it been around for 30 years now and so many players from around the world in different countries are playing for the biggest darts prize ever.

2008 to 2012 were strange years. Adrian Lewis winning back to back worlds averaging mid 90s. He had the world at his feet back then. He also had alcohol in his hands. A sad waste of a career destroyed by alcohol.

You can't compare Taylor's era to Van Gerwen's. MVG is 34 years old and won 3 world titles. To reach 16, he has to win 13 more. If he wins each and every World Cup from now on, he will be 47 by the time he does. I feel like MVG's prime is over. He may return at one point, but never will I give much chance for him to win a WC title past his 40s. Look at Taylor's era. He wasn't always that good, but he didn't need to be because the field of contestants simply couldn't keep up at all. He was, miles and away, the best out there. MVG's era is decorated by much more players that are much more capable. Lewis, Anderson, Cross, Humphries, Wright, Price, Smith just to name some. Taylor didn't have this much competition until like 2010 or so. The only player he actually had to worry about was RvB. I know he played many finals against Part, but let's be real, he never came close. Both Taylor and Van Gerwen were the best of the best in their era, but Taylor's era lasted much longer

Скажите пожалуйста, не могу понять, вот филл тейлор легенда, без вопросов, что такого в mvg? Он выигрывал чемпионство 3 раза, питер райт2, Гарри андерсон 2,льюс 2,обычный игрок, а из него делают сверх игрока не заслуженно

Есть категория турниров Major, которая в дартсе является самой престижной, и в этой категории Тейлор выиграл 79 титулов, МвГ 47, а идущий на третьем месте Уэйд 11, Андерсон и Райт по 8. Поэтому и считается, что МвГ ближе всех подобрался к Тейлору по величию, слишком большой разрыв между ними и всеми остальными.
