The other Gods asked for help from Shiva to intervene, and stop her. After many tries, Shiva stepped in, willingly calming Kali's rage by laying down in front of her to restore balance. As soon as she stepped on him, she realized everything and came to her senses. This act symbolizes Shiva's transcendence over primal forces and Kali's acknowledgment of his authority. Despite her fearsome appearance, Kali is revered as a compassionate goddess who protects her devotees. The biggest misconception is calling them Gods.They are deities representing different aspects.That is why there are so many of them and have different and sometimes contradictory visual representation of the same deity.Not because it is a polytheistic religion.The deity pantheon requires a study of philosophy ,they are not just literal. Honestly, this philosophy does not exist in any abrahamic religion so trying to find an equivalence between the two is kind of futile.For example, there is no concept of Satan in Hinduism neither is there a singular concept of demon.
