Peacocks have been treasured birds for thousands of years! Watch this to learn more about them, their impact on culture and how to care for them as pets! Arguably, one of the most beautiful birds in the world.
Hope you guys enjoy this video, I didn’t pick the best time of year to film for it since males are losing tail feathers right now, but I think I came out pretty good anyway. I did not include a pen in this video because none of our peacocks are in cages. They roam freely on our land.

I had a peacock for about 5 years. He left one day about 2 years ago and 2 days ago he came back. Just walked up the driveway and I called his name. He ran up to the front porch. I had some dog food got it and he ate right out of my hand, just like he did. It’s a miracle.

Great video and beautiful birds that come along with some very good information about Peacocks. I love them. I get to see them every spring at a place near us and they are just magnificent when they're in breeding mode. Absolutely regal. It's easy to see how the simile, "Proud as a Peacock," came about. Just gorgeous.

Should I get a peacock to piss off my neighbors? They have roosters and small dogs that won't shut up, so I'm trying to find a subtle passive aggressive way to get revenge. @magic animals adventures with Nick and luke In July at the end of their breeding season, Peacocks lose their tail feathers. The feathers fell off naturally, In August at the beginning of the courtship season, new feathers grow again. Young peacocks are dull brown, but as they get mature their feathers begin to grow fuller as they reach the age of 12

Comments by Sidhesh Patil - Beautiful. I am here in India at present, supposedly to answer the call of my roots. Not a single peacock do I get to greet and admire when I step out for a stroll. It was put to me that people however find living here a matter of joy & peace. They have accepted a standard of living, procreated and enforced that standard on their children.

Thank you Meghan. Do you let the peafowls freely roam? How long do you have to enclose a newly arrived peafowl in order that it adopts to the new place and stays? Thanx!

I have a question, can peafowl free range without a fence and will stick close to shelter? I have chickens atm and I let them free range without boundaries and they always stick close to their coop, will peafowl do the same?

The peafowls’ tail does not change from male to female ... the peacocks back feathers are what possess the eye spots and they use their tail to rattle the hollow shafts. We raise and sale our free ranging birds and love them dearly. Good info about the ration.
