Press and hold Standby for 5 seconds to "arm" the system. It will automatically go from GND to ALT once airborne.

Daniel, good information and well discussed. I have a Garmin 430WAAS and the Garmin 327. What would you suggest for the ADSB solution in my C172?

I'm kinda in a similar position and really the solution I'm leaning toward is all-in-one box like the Sandia STX 360, that replaces the good old GTX 327. I hoped about adding an UAT OUT as explained in the video, but combination boxes are just better. No RS-232 to wire, single antenna too.

I've got the GTX327 hooked to a GDL-82 with WAAS. Probably the least expensive solution and it works great. A WAAS antenna comes with the GDL-82.

It’s not. AFAIK it’s sent as it’s read to ATC and the radar system adjusts for local pressure.

In my RV9A my GTX327 pin 20 is connected to my Dynon 180. I plan to add uavionics for ADSB Out. Can I splice into pin 20 and connect that to echoUAT too?

Are you saying that the GTX327 can be used in conjunction with other components for the 2020 ADS-B Out Compliance?

+Christopher froeschl From Anthony: The gtx 327 can be used by some ads-b equipment to provide altitude and squawk codes through a rs232 connection. It is important to do your research to see what manufacturers are compatible with the transponder in your aircraft.

In other words, if you want to take the 1090ES route, you need GTX 330. The 327 only cuts if you fly below FL190 in conjunction with a UAT OUT box.
