Why didn't Jeff Bezos watch The Lord of the Rings expanded in 4K in his private cinema (I'm sure he has it in all his homes) and then went to the meeting with those responsible for the 8 insufferable episodes. He sued them. Called Petter Jackson. Asked for help the global online community of LOTR to Fubar them and their defense lawyers rescued all the wasted money and Petter and his pupils reinvested everything recovered... it's ridiculous how 20 years of technology and 1,000,000,000 U$D Where is the money? in the 3third world, we are used to theft and corruption. Ask any Latino LOTR fan, they will tell you that the ShowRunners hide it....And our hopes and dreams of 20 years. It is obvious that they save a lot of time and money on special effects. Ai"s? this 8 episodes cant be seen they are horrendous i wanna see Galadriel as it was not as a "super elfmen" @LudvigW

The "training" scene at 9:21 is just Galadriel showing off against people who seem to have never heard of the concept of a fight, whereas the Boromir training sequence (which is over a minute shorter) exists to characterize Boromir, Merry, and Pippin by showing us that Boromir, while tempted by the ring, is at his heart a noble and valiant man, and makes his sacrifice that much more impactful. It also showcases one of Merry and Pippin's greatest strengths, which is their chemistry/teamwork with one another. In addition to this characterization, it also shows Boromir teaching these two Hobbits how to use a sword properly so that they can protect themselves in an inevitable fight. In short, Galadriel is showing off and getting nothing done, and Boromir is teaching and helping the fellowship he is a part of.

PJ's telekinetic battle between 2 senior citizens will never be bested. You can see how both Saruman and Gandalf groan realistically upon impact as old men whose bodies should no longer suffer such treatment. They are old, even by their own standards as the wizards. I think it's a cool detail.

Same. None of that contemptuous racial pandering in Tolkien’s books or PJ’s movies and yet they were enjoyed and loved by millions of people of all races and backgrounds united in their love for the lore. Rings of Empowerment’s patronizing “diversity” insults your intelligence and alienates and polarizes more than the original depictions that paid no heed to “inclusionary” quotas yet appealed to everyone.

At least they treat their employees well. Also I don't think that it is any more female oriented or race driven than lotr. When I see Arondir on screen I don't scream and throw a fit that there's a black elf being as cool as the white ones. I don't throw a brick through my tv every time I see Galadriel be the warrior she was in the Silmarilion.
@TechLeafRanger
@TechLeafRanger 17 күн бұрын
@@NightOwlStudios21 I certainly wouldn't throw a fit either...if what they were doing was natural and not following an agenda. The problem is this: Arondir is there not to be a character, but to be a diversity checkmark. Especially since all evidence indicates elves in this setting are supposed to be a fair skinned, almost ethereal race in the world of LotR. Which means that an adaptation that wants to be TRUE to its source materiel would follow along on that front. If Amazon simply wanted to make their own fantasy show and fill it with black elves, more power to them. But when they step into an already pre-existing franchise and setting, they should respect it, not use it as a platform for political and social brownie points. Same thing with Galadriel. There's nothing wrong if she was shown to be a warrior. That is very much NOT what they did though. What they did, instead, was turn her into the stereotypical 'slay queen girl boss' that now infests most of Hollywood and entertainment media. When she can so effortlessly slay something her fellow elf warriors are dying against, when her 'teaching' of Numenorian recruits is done more to just show off 'look how amazing she is' then to show an actual experienced warrior mentoring new recruits, when she does stupid things that would normally get someone killed, that even Legolas would go 'yeah, that's a bit too much', then it's not being true to the character, it's just there to further push an agenda. Lord of the Rings already gave us two respectable female characters to latch onto: Arwen and Eowyn. The latter of whom is a strong female character WITHOUT being a girl boss. While I'd expect Galadriel, obviously, to be better then Eoywn, what they did in Rings of Power is just utter stupidity and ridiculousness meant to show off 'how cool and amazing and super and better then everyone else' she is, not what a strong character she actually is. Rings of Power is not a faithful adaptation to Lord of the Rings or Tolkien's lore. And you can tell simply by looking at the 'defense' of it, not by people like you, but by the cast and creators themselves. They HAVE no defense except calling people racists, sexist, and bigots. Which goes to show that what they care about is not being truthful to Tolkien's world, but using it simply to further push their agenda. If you like it, fine. Great. More power to you. But that doesn't suddenly mean people who don't like it are wrong. Especially when the reason they don't like it isn't because 'oh, black person showing up white people or girl being a warrior is stupid', but when a franchise, a modern day mythos they love is being torn apart and mutilated for the sake of pushing a so called 'progressive' agenda.
@NightOwlStudios21
@NightOwlStudios21 16 күн бұрын
So what you're saying @TechLeafRanger, is that to be a fair, ethereal, being, you have to be white? Why? Also I agree that the "training scene" was the worst in the show and put in it to emphasize Galadriel's girlbossyness, however I don't think that having a black elf being as cool if not cooler than most of the nameless lamb-for-slaughter elves in lotr is a problem.
@TechLeafRanger
@TechLeafRanger 16 күн бұрын
@@NightOwlStudios21 Under normal modern day circumstances, no. However, in the context of LotR, yes. With the context Tolkien is using fair, for the time period he existed in and he wrote this, that would be people who are of light complexion, since that was what standard of the time. Some of the races of men, usually the Gondorians and Rohirrihm , are similarly described as such. The NUmenorians before them....I'm not sure. I think I read something of them or some of them being darker complexion, but would need to go and recheck The point is, Tolkien gives us a contrast because he does described OTHER races as being darker and more swarthy of appearance. Examples being the HAradrim and Rhun. Not necessarily black, but an obvious distinction from those he describes as 'fair'. I'm not trying to say there can't be black elves. I'm not trying to say they can't be cool. HOwever, what I am saying is that in the context of LotR it doesn't fit, which is the whole point of making an adaptation in the first place. And when he's literally there to fit a diversity checkbox to pander to angry whiny white activists (because he also is literally the only black elf in the entire series), to the point where plenty of black people have hated him because they know they're being pandered to (just got to find the reaction videos), then he really takes away from his character because you know he's not there to actually BE a character, he's there pretty much to just be a cardboard cut out figure that is basically meant to say 'look how amazing and cool and awesome thins guy we created and put in is. And see how much better he is then the 'white elf guy' Peter Jackson had? Legolas did all these crazy awesome things, but our guy also does flips and spins, so he must be better and superior'. If it's so fine and progressive to now have black elves....where are the rest in the series? Why isn't a third or half of the elves on screen black? Because they knew they'd barely get away with making just the one.

In no way did I interpret the people of color in the show as following an agenda. They never go out of their way to say that they are a person of color who is as good as the white people. Man, sorry you had to watch and edit all of that crap from Rings of Empowerment. Thank you for your service. 🫡 Peter Jackson’s Elven “line troops” had a sort of clinical grace - a disciplined, elegant, slightly aloof style of fighting, which adds to their otherworldliness. ROP is human-style bog standard “fighting.” So incredibly lame.

PJ's elven line of halberds? Swords? Polearms? Whatever they are, isn't practical. If you were fighting in a line against an army charging head long into your line, you would want long pikes, and actually functional armor, not gold foil wrapped around your chest.

@@NightOwlStudios21 See, that’s a lack of imagination when you reduce elves to the mundane and to human “practicality” - when the whole point is that they aren’t human and their preternatural grace expands the bounds of what is “practical” for them. You’re parsing human metrics of what is practical onto the elves. It’s boring, unimaginative, and misses the point. It’s like complaining that Hobbits’ lack of footwear isn’t practical after watching them traipse barefoot and with relative economy through the pass of Caradhras and other rough terrain. “Why didn’t PJ make Hobbits wear shoes, it’s much more practical.” Or like seeing Legolas walk unimpeded on chest-high snow and asking why he isn’t wearing broad-bottomed snow shoes that trekkers wear when they move cross country in deep snow, when those are super practical. Well it’s because he can walk on snow, duh! The whole point is to illustrate his lightfootedness and the lightfootedness of elves in general. 😂 Your “practical” suggestion would have conveyed a plodding leaden footedness, same as all the others. What is the point of that? It’s that obtuse failure of imagination, which brings the fantastical down to the mundane, which measures everything according to human practicality-when we are trying to illustrate the wonder and intrigue of them being different and NOT human-that makes ROP look jarring, immersion-breaking, and utterly point-missing.

Yes the elves showed a lot of grace when they died in the hundreds at Helm's Deep. (which by the way, was not in the book.) And the elves do use long pikes. All I'm saying is that a sword doesn't give you much reach when a horde of attackers are coming down on you.
