Thanks mate... We had the white screen, and your + then - then power worked. Our local tech couldn't fix this and we were trying to drainthe battery to try to restart. Saved a lot of heartache. Tahanks again...

hi, commenting just to let everyone know that this happened to me. it's been an hour and my screen (iPad Pro 11 inch) is still black with the spinning wheel of death, the only thing visible on the screen. i contacted apple support and they told me to do the same. it didn't work the first TWENTY times i did it, but after plugging it into power (again), for about 30 minutes, i tried it doing the press the up and down volume quickly and top button for 5 seconds. FINALLY the apple logo appeared. i guess it's a different case for everyone, just try all of the troubleshooting steps and be patient!

dge a way to just solve it completely is restoring and updating ur iPad by connecting iTunes to ur iPad on a Mac or pc

ami fernandez i think there was too much activity that the iPad couldn’t handle it. But it was weird because i was only highlighting using my GoodNotes app (i do this everyday). Must’ve been a bug from that iOS version it was currently on

Thanks…press volume up, press volume down and only hold down the power button until the apple logo comes on. I am so grateful, it worked in less than one minute.

iPad Pro 12.9 A1652 - Screen comes on solid gray when I do this. No Apple Logo. Goes gray then off. Plugged into the mac. Don't' currently, have the USB-C adapter. Tried the Home, Power and Volume Up buttons. Is the screen bad?

After countless attempts, still no fix. Repair estimates are north of $600 - all data lost and a new serial number. Just a terrible result.
