yes sir can't beat those truck stop cafe's, and you're right about watching a 35 yo man put lotion on, never thought i would do that. But then again, never thought I would run across a driver of your caliber. You're 1 in a million Mr.Jax.💯👍

I remember, as a young girl, my family would travel from Los Angeles area to visit relatives way up almost to the tip-top of Maine, to a small town called Van Buren. I also remember my dad telling me, that always look for where there are a lot of trucks and truck drivers parked and if they are near a restaurant or Cafe. Why I asked, and he replied, cause truckers AWAYS know where the best coffee and food is. 👍💯

I'll check out the truck stop cafe's.....i'll tell em Jax sent me .

Thanx for bringing these videos to viewers Jax. It exposes people to a way of life that many have no exposure to. I was born and raised in the Central Valley of California, still live here, grew up on a farm and when I was a young girl would haul almonds with my dad to the almond plant in Sacramento(he would drive at night too). One thing I appreciate about you is that you talk with people, chit chat, make them laugh. I like to do that too- like you said, connect to,people. Thanx for your videos.

I spit my coffee out when you sprayed that axe body spray in your face, then had to get out of the cab because it’s so strong. I have twin boys, when the were little we would go shopping with their mom. When she was trying things on the boys would spray themselves with the perfume samples. Oh the memories! Thanks for sharing.

Another quality video from the Ol’ Battle Axe, himself. I’ve learned a lot from these vlogs! Never understood the whole weights thing but I have a much better understanding. I thought Eric said “it comes from Iraq” at first. Figured out he was saying a rock. I had no baffles in trailer and that 50000lbs sure would lunge you forward I jumped out out cab when he was blocked by traffic and punched him in the face.what i didnt realize is there was a unmarked cop car next to me.so i ran over after the punch and said im so sorry officer. He said i watched it all i was ready to pull him over but you did what you had to carry on.

I have been there and done that. I knew just about every truck stop between california an washington... a occasional trip to nevada. If you don't have a backhaul to home then you wander around and listen up on the cb for someone who knows hauls going somewhere. Licence plates included the bingo card for hauling in different states...been over forty years since I was on the highway... actually thirty eight now that I did the math. I loved the road, didn't mess around on the wife, kept the zipper up an eyes open for jump scales or other inspection places. 355 gears a thirteen speed with a airshift brownie that had a long over in it..lot of the time it was in direct but pulling up and out of different locations, steep roads, I found shallow under in the brownie, and the low side of the main. Ran a big cam two in those days... a few shims n a double o button in the fuel pump... had to watch the pyrometer... some nights just pushing hard, you could see the flames coming out of the stacks. Iron and lumber for most hauls but then occasionally a bunch of two by fours with plywood for side racks to make a haul of stone. They used it for decorative roofing. I would pick up hitchhikers and hope they didn't get stupid... got shot in wyoming from a kid with nightmares. Get so tired and pushing on... find yourself way ahead and not remember even driving it... ya... lots a fun if u get it

Dang it I love your videos man! They always put me in a positive mood! I’m from Ohio and you nailed it with the weight and road conditions comment lol. But a long time ago I loaded a load on my dry van. Scaled at the shipper, only 74k gross. That’s 6k below the standard 80k gross. I took the load to a burb of Chicago. I was ON THE STREET of my delivery when I get pulled over. They “escort” me to a scale so conveniently around the corner. I wasn’t scared. I was only 74k! Right?!? Well, I proved that cop wrong. I was truly 74k. BUT, that damn street, again the street I had to deliver on, had a 70k limit!!!! He gave me a lecture about it, told me it would be something like a 1400 dollar fine. I was extremely cordial with the officer and he let me go with just a warning. It’s one thing to know what each state requires for a gross weight, but EACH street per each municipality??? C’mon lol. People wonder why truckers are in a bad mood so much. Lol. Anyway, again, I love your videos brother!

Hi Jax! A nice long one today, TYVM! Those 'DOT's' are universal - they just have different names. I once heard them referred to in our Western State (yup, we just have one BIG one, LOL) - as "Mermaids".. I knew WHO he was referring to but I still didn't get it, and the reply was "They're the 'beyatches' with scales".. I thought you might get a laugh too... Just when you think you've heard 'em all, hey! Prayers for you & your beautiful family as always, that God keep you all safe and well, and bring down those rains you really need : ) 🙏🏻✝️ Much love from your friend in Australia ❤️ XX Janell 🇦🇺❤️ 🇺🇲

You know I pray for rain and safety for you all every day (you're on my Prayer List), yet WE got 4 and a half inches of rain in just 24 hrs yesterday - and that's definitely weird for mid-May! The skies opened up and it just bucketed down nonstop - so parts of our coastal region are flooded, yet again - and all I could think of was how much your region really needs it, and how much we really don't! Great Video. Shows people what it takes to bring all that "stuff" to their local stores. My Sister drove semi's for 28 years and did the long hauls across the country. She only quit when she was hauling for Los Alamos and got real sick and died.. I warned her not to haul for the bases.. Especially those with the underground bases that have labs.. What ever it was it attacked her muscles and she went downhill fast.. Anyhow.. Thanks for showing people what it takes and with all the crazy DOT stops and the hell it puts truckers through when the laws are so uneven state to state...

When my grandpa died there was 6 or so celebrations for him at all the truck stop cafes that he went to for 40+years he ran the same route. I then got to go on the road with my husband last year and the food that we had access to was absolutely horrible.

They have great pie at that diner! Always stopped there when I could! DOT stands for Demons Out for Truckers... Third edit... Before I was medically retired from driving, I am pretty sure i have been to or through every outback, small town, construction site, big farm or major steel plant in the US. I drove flat back since '85. Retired in 2018. I do miss it but I don't miss all the yearly regulations.

Twenty five years of trucking and I've never dealt with a fire. Last Friday my truck caught fire and burned to the ground. I grabbed my phone and wallet and lost everything else. One lesson learned, when escaping from fire, grab the keys and fobs to your pickup. Having them replaced is expensive. I don't know why but I completely forgot about them laying there on the console.

I sure wouldn't wish it on anyone. I've spent over $1000 this week just replacing personal items that were in the truck, not even counting the truck itself. But I'm glad I got out safely. It could have been much worse. It happened so fast. I tried to put it out with the fire extinguisher, but it was no use. From the time I got it off the freeway and stopped, it went from smallish fire to raging inferno in maybe two minutes. Thankful that the fuel tanks didn't explode.

Leaving Arkansas in the morning for Michigan. Would be cool to run into you somewhere. But odds are low. You mostly run east/west and I run north/south.

What’s with DOT setting up inspection areas on random off/on ramps-when there’s an open weight station only 10 miles away?! Weird. Anyway… Thanks Jax for the enlightening video. SUPPORT YOUR CAFES. That’s the takeaway.

Hey bud, love your trucking videos. There are plenty of freight haulers with videos. But you represent us rural livestock and hopper pullers. Most that do try to portray us been ducking on toothpicks to long and make us look bad. Keep it up

My face gets so dry under my beard brother. I haven't shaved since I was 19; and only into my 30s has it gotten bothersome and your so right the bear conditioners dont do diddly! 🤘 Always stop in the Choke& Puke's locally and . My father made sure we understood and respected the importance of The Trucking Industry growing up. He was a semi-pro "suicide jockey" of sorts 😉. 🤘💪
