The good thing about the Silent Hill games is that they're all depressing and there's never a truly happy ending. it's supposed to be an introspection of the victims trapped in Silent Hill. No sugar coating, no rest, no fun. Just pure crude facts about their life and deeds

Silent Hill 3 in my opinion had the best soundtrack, especially with the songs that were sung by Mary Elizabeth McGlynn. They perfectly capture the human psyche and what depression feels like. I first played the first 3 SH games during a very rough time in my life, I suffered from depression and playing these games helped me in a sense; I realized that things could be much worse. I did get help fortunately and I am much better now. This may sound cheesy as all hell, but SH is a very important part of my life. I love the original 3 games with all my heart, the later games with the exception of shattered memories failed to capture the same feelings that the original 3 did Konami needs to do something with SH or sell it off to a developer that actually gives a shit about making a good SH game.

I know a lot of people didn't like it, but I think that Silent Hill 4: The Room had the best soundtrack, I love Waiting for You (that guitar is awesome!) and Your Rain, but I also like You're Not Here from Silent Hill 3.

Joseph Marion SH4 is a really unique game in the franchise. Most things regarding that game have a really special charm.

I agree. It's definitely a departure from the original formula of the franchise, but I think that it's still a great game in its own right.

Gastón Etcheverry Yeah, and I think a lot of that also has to do with the controls also. I liked them a lot, especially the fighting. They definitely did a good job with it. All we can hope for with that game is a remaster!

I've played since the first on PSX. Dude, it's a really good game. Even if it wasn't initially a Silent Hill game. They made it work phenomenally. I love the plot. Being chained into your apartment with a hole in the wall that leads into a nightmare is pure genius.

The instrumentalization cannot be underestimated: Elvis' version of Always on My Mind is so light-hearted and joyful, but this version fits the regretful lyrics with an unsettling base

Idk ot of all SH soundtracks SH4 is probably the best of tne... It's the most immersive, even though the game isn't really the best one (I still like it the most after SH2... It has it's own thing)

Too bad she actually hated the games... At least initially, she was just performing, not necessarily a bad thing lots of performers are actually done worse, but just imagine how much better it could've been if she knew the games... She did get into the games by voicing Mary/Maria (which surprisingly was terrible) in HD, but I think it was too late by then...

I always liked silent hill's music, particularly songs like day and night, but I had never paid attention to the rest of the songs Now I realize how little I knew, themes so deep that they touch your heart and convey the loneliness and emptiness of games, I don't know the history of games, but without a doubt This is the purest essence of silent hill and is magnificent in every sense of the word.

I think that "hole" is a hole in James's memories. Why this "hole" gone now? Because James cover this with his imagination of Mary's death. But Silent Hill 4: The Room always in my heart.

It's weird cause it's not really clear if Mary is alive or not. She obviously is still alive in "Maria" ending (cause she's trying to kill you, duh), but in others... She might been dead from the start of the game, in this case it's not really imagination... It's really interesting how in SH2 ending can change the whole plot of the game, I haven't really seen something like that anywhere else...

Goes from voice direction of Cowboy Bebop to Silent Hill's Soundtrack and working with Akira Yamaoka. Seeing as Akira is coming back for the new game we might see her again, I truely hope we due. With her chilling but soothing voice, there isn't anybody I can think of who could do that better.
