Jameson does this because he wants Spider-Man brought to just dead or alive but he doesn't realize that Gargan's a psychopath...

One of the greatest moments in the Sam Raimi films was Spider-mans first encounter with Goblin at the Thanksgiving parade. We've seen Peter have the strength to take down anyone with ease. He was fast enough to evade Flash and even punch him across the Hallway. Then we see Goblin. Peter throws a punch at him and Goblin catches it, exclaiming *IMPRESSIVE !* . He then proceeds to hit Spider-man across the street. This directly parallels the scene between Peter and Flash and gives us an epic moment of the hero facing a villain that can match their strength

Both Shockers should definitely be more towards the bottom, only ahead of Rhino and Scorpion shouldn’t be on this list considering he hasn’t even been established as a villain yet and was only shown for a brief moment, not even as the Scorpion.

The thing that's great about Mysterio as far as costume design goes is the fact that since the actual Mysterio suit really is just a costume and not functional, technically speaking his actual villain outfit is the mo-cap suit. And they still managed to make the fishbowl helmet thing work by turning it into his face capture rig. Behind all the smoke and mirrors (holograms and drones) he's just a he's a petty spiteful deranged man in a mo cap suit and a fish bowl on his head. And that's a brilliant adaptation of Mysterio from the comics.

Goblin and Mysterio are the MVPs because they represent the best aspects of Spider-Man villains; campy and maniacal.

I'm sorry but rhino is the worst. The first time he spoke and said his name on screen I felt like I was watching a cartoon. That's pretty much how I felt everytime rhino was on screen.

I'm so glad you agree that Mysterio is no. 1; he's been my favourite Marvel villain for as long as I can remember and the film just hit the nail on the head with every aspect of his character. The biggest criticisms I see people throw at him are that his motivations were petty and his plan wouldn't have even really benefited him in the long-term, but both of those are still just _so Mysterio_ - all the dude ever wants is to pull the wool over people's eyes and show off how smart he is

1st time: I saw Mysterio, familiar with the comics so I knew he would be the villain before watching. But I was so dumbfounded to see the betrayal and forgot he was evil. 2nd time: The second time I saw the film I knew everything and I was just “how can you do this to him?” it still deeply hurt me.

The emotional manipulation and the fact he doesn't even really have powers. I love him. AND THE FACT THAT HE STILL HAUNTS PETER, LONG AFTER HE'S GONE. 1. Molina's Doc Ock. Doc Ock has ALWAYS been my favourite, and I love the other versions from the 2017 cartoon, and the PS4 game. His final scene in Spiderman 2 gives me shivers to this day. He's a villain with a heart of gold and Alfred Molina playing him again in NWH was such a joy. Guys I got it Dr Doom should be introduced in the after credit scene of Dr Strange 2. After Wanda's power destroys Nightmare and messes up reality two Earths are mixed together and now mutants and vampires exist. Show the ruins of Sokovia and we see a mysterious man in a green cloak roaming around and its DR DOOM. He promises to rebuild it into a great country. Its pretty cool you know Dr Doom makes his paradise off of the supposed heroes greatest failure?

Yes! Mysterio is definitely the greatest Spider-Man movie villain we've seen so far. He's tricked our hero like no villain has done before AND he did it multiple times. He revealed Spider-Man's true identity to the entire world and he made it look like Spidey was the villain. It took me until this vid, to finally realize Goblin isn't just emerald green in Spider-Man 1. I NEVER knew about the reflective paint differences, amazing. Didn't help that appearances in games and other merchandise outside the movie for years showed him as the plain I'm green from head to toe.

honestly, Spiderman has had consistently good to great cinematic villains with only several bogging them down. the first four villains of the Raimi trilogy were great. Green Goblin is iconic, especially after No Way Home, Doc Ock was incredible from start to finish, I actually felt for Sandman as he said it himself, he was just a guy who got dealt a bad hand in life. Harry Osborn, while execution wise wasn't the best, had a great build up to him becoming his fathers' successor. the lizard in amazing spiderman was alright but personally, and especially after No Way Home, I always liked Electro. he was interesting in being a spiderman fan that turned into what he was by pure chance. the less we talk about Rhino and AS2 goblin, the better. and now, we can say that for Spidey's MCU trilogy, he's had consistently the best villains outside the Avengers and a few other villains here and there. Vulture and Mysterio were fantastic and No Way Home bringing back the classics was just amazing. and to think, we've only scratched the surface of his Rogues gallery. there's villains like Rhino and Shocker who can prove to be credible threats outside of being henchmen or one offs, Hob Goblin, Hydro man and molten man done proper not as illusions, Hammerhead, Scorpion, Morlun, Kraven(Fucking hurry up with him already), Chameleon, Mr. Negative, Venom and Carnage done right, the Spider-slayers after some time and even other villains like Jackal and Beetle of lesser renown can be taken and elevated into greater heights.

1. Doc ock : charismatic, genius and touching,he isn't your cliché villain,he's a man with a dream that lost everything and became a hero when he destroyed his dream, the only thing left to him. Alfred Molina was perfect for this villain 2. Green Goblin spider man 1: scary, machiavelic, he was tied with vulture on my top but the fact that he was a complete psychopate, the bridge scene and the last battle with spider man who's the hardest to watch because how brutal it is make me rank him at the 2nd place 3. Vulture : i love this version of vulture, he act like a true vulture because he steal leftovers and protect his queen like in the stories in ancient egypt, he's badass but sympathetic, an anti Iron Man. 4rd: new goblin : i like because of how well his story was in spider man 1 and 2, too bad he was rushed in 3 5. Sandman : to me the most touching of this list, he still is less terrifying than vulture 6. You know, i actually love the Goblin from "The Amazing Spider-Man 2". I think the actor Dane DeHaan did a great performance, and besides that i really like everything about his character. Listen. Ok, the first reason is his theme. No, really, listen to it. It sounds scary, intense, epic and it really fits the character. The sirens, everything. Second reason is the plot (motivations), and yeah... I love it. It's not that i HATE Willem Dafoe and his motivations as the Green Goblin, but it's just all about taking gas and wanting to rule the world with Spider-Man... Here, they present us a different thing, a needed upgrade of the Green Goblin's origin. The Osborn Curse. I like to call it the "Little Goblin Junior" curse, hehe. So it basically means, that everyone who has "Osborn" as their last name will in the future become Green Goblin. Isn't that... Ironic? It's just like breaking the fourth wall, because thats basically what they use the Osborn Family for in the Spider-Man material. So Harry needs Spidey's blood, to not die. In this moment, Peter understands he can't give Harry his blood because it could do something very bad (Dr. Curt Connors is a good example), and in the next half of the movie it turns out that he was right. The spider venom turns out to be compatible only with Peter, because Richard Parker put his blood in the spiders. To escape the questions, i'm going to provide you the scrapped scenario, and in that scenario Peter actually GIVES Harry his blood which turns him into the Green Goblin. The plot is actually very good when it comes to Harry and the Green Goblin in this movie, and i really prefer what they did here to the "rule the world because evil gas" thing from the comics and Raimi version. Next thing is Dane DeHaan, his Goblin Laugh and the performance in particular. Dane DeHaan is a very talented actor. And you know what's funny? He played in the movie called "True Blood". Blood obsession, is he a vampire? As i said, Dane DeHaan is a very talented actor and he played Harry very well. Peoplsay that he isn't like in the comics and stuff, but that's exactly how a "Rich Teenager", son of a billionaire would act and look. James Franco did a good performance, but really is there anything really good about his Goblin? In my opinion, the motivation based on "Peter Parker didn't want to spend 3 seconds of his life to explain the situation to Harry before something bad could happend". This Goblin really is scary, kinda like the Joker, and his Goblin laugh is scary too. His best Goblin laugh is in the deleted scenes, btw. Menken's Murder Scene. And we're slowly getting to the thing people hate the most in this character... DESIGN. And yeah, i love the design. Kill me for it. It looks like an actual Goblin, and the suit looks really original and, IN MY OPINION, way better than the Power Ranger Goblin suit OR the Ninja Goblin suit. His pumpkin bombs are kinda nice, i like them. It's all based only on mine experience, remember. Yeah, i liked everything about this Goblin, but you know where he's shown the best? Deleted Scenes, kinda predictable. The scene, where Harry shows the high tech Goblin suit to Peter, and he says that HE actually ordered it, and it's not used for government purposes. Now we finally know how Harry learned to use the Glider, he tested the suit himself. Another scene, extended scene of Transformation. I don't think it's really that necessary, but it shows the pain Harry experienced. And the scene with Oscorp Guards, who are ready to attack is a FINE ADDITION too, i guess. Another scene, where Harry as the Green Goblin stops for a little and hears Felicia. They really had some sort of romance in this movie, but it was shown briefly. Felicia comes near him, and says "Harry?". Harry hears her and sees what he has become, he touches his own face in terror, but Goblin takes over his mind and he screams "GO. GO!". It shows that there's still a bit of human in him, that he's not just a monster even when he's the Green Goblin. Another scene is my personally favorite. We see Menken cornered by Harry in his Glider, he grabs him and flies wayyyy up. Menken (btw, that's the guy who fired Harry and covered Max's Death) says in fear "PLEASE!", and Harry replies "You were right. THE FALL IS FAST AND STEEP." and then he laughs, laughs like a scary monster. My personally favorite Goblin laugh. So here we are: Music, Motivations, Impact on the main character, Deleted Scenes, Design... All of that - good. Now i understand why people don't like this Goblin. Just because he's different. He's not Willem Dafoe, he isn't in a green plastic suit and he isn't copy n' pasted from the comics. Such a shame people don't understand. Green Goblin should've been the main villain in this movie.

You’re right for the record I still like Topher Grace venom because someday if he’s introduced again I want him to look huge with CGI affects. Like what if his ability was biting poisoning people fighting in order to look bulkier . Or what if he teams up with knull.
