Great video! My grandma owned Stefan’s house when the movie was filmed. She passed in 2008, but loved telling stories about meeting the actors and crew and even got to be an extra. She was one of the ladies hanging up laundry in the background during the scene where Stefan’s brother just got laid off from the steel mill. Miss you Bubba.

This film is criminally under-rated. It's so gritty and real. You actually feel like you're in Johnstown, PA. A fantastic movie and probably one of Tom Cruise's best performances - seriously. He WAS Stefan Djordjevic and played that character so well. A hidden gem from the best decade - the 80s!

I’m quite proud of the old rust belt towns in this area. We don’t change much and we need all the positives we can find. Thank you for your work.

Loved this movie. I saw it on cable a year after it came out. I was a junior in high school. It really depicts how it was in high school at that time. Oh the 80’s what an amazing time.

When Cruise dumped garbage on the coaches lawn I was 12 years old and right across the street watching them film it. He had to do it three times. The woods that you see across the street is now a nice housing development. Built in the late 90’s

Great Video!!!! I had the honor of playing "Alexander #41"! Seems like a million years ago that my mother drove me to Johnstown, PA to work that week there. :)

You guys are just awesome. That film means a lot to some people, like me. Thank you for your efforts. Seeing the locations virtually unchanged, makes life today feel a bit slower and the past not so far away. Blessings.

This was the first movie I was legally allowed to drive to. This video really takes me back to simpler times. So much has changed since back then....but sadly, a lot of things like short sideness, prejudice, biases, and closed minds are still fueling the ills of our society. This film had a good msg. Thank you for a trip down memory lane. I enjoyed viewing the video.

Stefan walks across the East Conemaugh Franklin Bridge before it was remodeled 7 years ago and extended. You can see the old bridge hotel behind him in East Conemaugh.

Thank you so much for providing this video. I saw this film when it came out in theaters back in 1983. I was living back in New Haven, Ct working for Yale's Athletic Dept at the time. I ended up heading back to California and got into high school teaching and coaching football for the next 25 years. This old man is going to save this and put it on my bucket list to visit if I ever get a day or two back in Pennsylvania. Thanks again for the great memories.

Fun fact. Stef went on to become a successful architect at Vandelay Industries.
