DayZ 1.19 update details: • All DayZ 1.19 Changes ...
Vehicle stability, additions and changes make DayZ update 1.19 one of the most game changing patches for vehicles we\'ve seen in recent years. I go over why vehicles are still not 100% stable, and the addition of the Humvee or M1025 multipurpose vehicle. The new vehicle additions and changes in 1.19 are the vehicle UI updates, glowplug, handbrake, drowning, fuel tanks, horns and changes to suspension and vehicle grip.

The fact that I can take most vehicles up a basic hill is a massive improvement. There were dirt roads and other parts of the map that were just impossible to drive a car anywhere near. Server performance is likely always going to be an issue to some degree, but reducing the impact it has on cars is a step in the right direction.

@@IJzzo I should have been more specific. On roads with an incline. I have had zero trouble on most other vehicles, at least on dirt and paved roads, no matter how steep the incline was, as long as I approached it with enough speed. That was impossible in some parts of the map before, no matter how fast you were going. You would just essentially stop. It seems like the general traction and acceleration on inclines is a little worse, but at least with most non-truck vehicles, it's been a lot easier. It feels like something they can tweak though, so I am still encouraged.

Thanks for mentioning and correctly explaining the issue with server-sided vehicles. That's probably the main issue I have with DayZ and it's not something so obvious to players in general.

The vehicles definitely feel better and are less glitchy. I actually got an ADA to 119 km/h on a narrow road with no problems. The Humvee is really good. If they fix the gearbox glitch and add more storage it would be great.

After 9 years of development, we still don't have a high-performance, bug-free vehicle simulation. Still no physics on the barriers or small tree. However when you cut a tree or a bush you have an animation so it is doable. Bohémia really needs to update DayZ once and for all because it feels like we're in a game rooted in the 2010s. Today there are plenty of apps that allow you to do this. But they don't want to pay user fees, they prefer to stay on an in-house engine rather than an aging one! They have gold between their fingers but they don't have the skills to evolve with the times. And I could have talked about the two base building types that were never augmented.The game is evolving little by little, I know, but I hope they will be able to offer us a technically up-to-date game in less than 10 years.

My little bit of time with a gunter and sarka on the 1.19 experimental on series x, the general driving is more solid. Higher speeds mean more dangerous possible swerving and the turn radius is a little wider at times. However they can still be rather problematic with hills which is one of the bigger issues for me at least.

Definitely enjoyed the video and how you elaborated on vehicle performance issues being server-side. So many people hopped on after the update and instantly got upset after seeing that cars weren’t 100% fixed. As I see it, this update almost completely fixed all the client-side issues with cars, and added some nice features. We just need an update that addresses server stability for vehicles and performance in general

Personally I’d like to see a machine gun added to the humvee as a super rare attachment that can only be spawned at heli-crashes or gas zones. It should be mounted on the humvee or can be carried around and shoot but it could not be holstered on the shoulder and should be pretty heavy (approximately 70lbs or 30-35kg). There should be Russian and American versions of these mg’s and therefore take either 7.62 or 308 Winchester. Parts such as the ammo belt, receiver, barrel and shield should be found before being able to use the gun. Additionally having guns to have different receivers should allow different caliber rounds to to be used for every gun. For example a 9mm receiver for the M16/m4a1 should allow them to shoot 9mm rounds allowing for less recoil, less damage, but more control.

Also there is still a bug that sometimes vehicles start sleighting over the ground. If you park them on a hill and remove a tire you know what I mean. They start slighting over the ground and won't stop until a server restart. I also would wish you would be more protected inside cars. It is a pretty hard task to repair a vehicle. And if you drive around and a player sees you you're most likely death because you have no protection or the ability to fight back. I know the defs said they won't add shooting out of cars, but maybe the could add upgrading vehicles. Maybe you could add metalsheeds to them so you more protected against bullets. Another problem is that you can't lock them or park them safely anywhere if you log out. You have to hide them in the forest and hope no one will finde them if I log out. Maybe a vehicle could log out from a server with you, if you log out while sitting in the car. Vehicles are much better now and I appreciate the effort the defs put in but they are still not worth repairing.

My suggestion would be to add immobilizer, that when installed (findable in T3+ areas) you'll be able to set a PIN for starting your engine instead of stealie wheelie automobilie. There would be a hidden keybind when inside a vehicle, which will send you to the PIN menu.

I’ll admit with the 1.19 update the vehicles I’ve drove haven’t gone space bound, however they’ve bounced to the point of doing flips in the air while sitting still. It is definitely a step in the right direction but not a full fix yet.

I’m re: driving up hills and 4th gear. This is how manual gear vehicles work. To drive up hills in a manual, you have to get the rpm up in neutral, then switch to first. Also, accelerating in 4th gear will always be slow.

Also a breakdown of the spawning cycle and spawn rate. Ive heard you say only three spawn on the map. Does that mean if three are in play and being used a new one won’t spawn? Or will only three spawn at a time?

WOBO, thank you very much for this video, it's so important that people don't expect vehicles to be fixed, because the devs certainly hyped it with the long waiting time this year. I play on a lightly modded vanilla server and vehicles are pretty good. Except when you try to drive on railroad tracks, recently flipped a car after raiding a base because I lagged and all of a sudden I was going towards a pole and tried to correct it too much apparently.

I had a feeling they wouldn't really be fixed, and I have noticed on certain servers cars actually work damn near flawlessly, and when I can manage to get the server to myself I have no problems. Mind you these servers aren't modded hardly at all. Only adding in random loot and Santa crashes, so yeah I'll get helicopters on top of sleighs but other than that is gold. Then turn around and play a heavily modded server and I avoid cars all together 😂

We need to be able to shoot from the truck and the humvee. Just one person at a time. There are hatches and you could have the player stand in the hatch. It would up the player capacity in each vehicle by 1 also. This is especially needed for the truck now because anyone riding in it is a sitting duck.

You could "drown" before but it just showed up as seemingly random bleed damage,,, I help a friend of mine run a server and we were testing a BTR mod not long ago that was slightly bugged and wasnt ruining the engine underwater, we went on a wild submarine adventure guided by map for miles until I saw a bleed pop up way offshore and we had to race back lol

Glow Plugs don't do the exact same thing as a spark plug. Not all diesels have glow plugs. But the duramax that is found in a Humvee does use them. They just keep the engine block warm when its cold outside. Spark plugs ignite gas inside of a gas engine which is what makes the car go

Glow plugs aren't block heaters. Glowplugs make it easier for the diesel to reach ignition temperature when the combustion chamber is not up to running temp yet. Without it, the diesel vapor must rely on the heat increase caused by compression, which isn't always great enough to cause ignition when the combustion chamber is ~15c

Me and my friends fixed up a Humvee and an Olga. We were trying to hide them near our base when they suddenly glitched into place. They couldn't get out and could only log out. The 1st logged out and got placed back where he was around 10 minutes ago with the vehicle nowhere to be seen, the 2nd time my friend was hiding a Humvee in a different place and still got glitched. He told me to shoot him and drag him out, I put four 45 ACP in his neck and his character didn't even flinch, not to mention the Humvee's rear tires looked ruined but were actually read as pristine. I relogged as well as him and he died whereas I couldn't even find his body or the entire Humvee. It's good to hear and see that vehicles are drivable, but if their is a chance that hours of searching for vehicle parts and items suddenly disappearing then it's still not worth it. At least we could salvage stuff out of the vehicle wrecks last update.

Truck gas tanks need to be placed more under the frame, or collision boxes need to be smaller Many a time i round a corner and it artifact clips something and gets damaged

They still haven't addressed the fact that bases on official are pointless still because your yet still able to boost under the map, swim under the base, log out and back in and they're inside while your offline.

Just imagine how long this game is post 1.0 and they still haven't figured out something that should've been one of the most basic features... I go back to DayZ from time to time, but this is just offputing. I've lost hope for this game a lot of time ago. It's given me a lot of fun back in the day, still number one most played on my steam with over 700 hours. I miss the old engine though. I liked the feel of it. Those long animations that felt more like Arma, a little more natural. Now it's just more... Third/first person shooter-y, much more simplified which made it less of a unique experience. Not sure if I express myself clearly enough here. Wish it went a bit different... But hope everyone else enjoys it for what it is.
