Today we're joined by Bradley Pierce, president of the Foundation to Abolish Abortion and VP of Heritage Defense, to discuss the abortion abolitionist movement and what it broadly believes. First we explain what some of the differences might be between abolitionists and pro-lifers, one of which is that abolitionists largely believe in criminal charges for a woman who gets an abortion. We discuss what justice for abortions might look like and how to balance impartiality and compassion for those misled by the media and the abortion industry. While it may seem like abortion abolitionists and pro-lifers are on the same side, much abolition legislation has been struck down by the pro-life camp - why is this, and what other criticisms of the pro-life movement exist from the other side? Abolitionists also don't believe in abortion restrictions, such as heartbeat bills, unless they are full bans (and in some cases have other qualifications). We discuss this rejection of incrementalism and ask what the proposals are that replace this method of fighting abortion. Will abolition legislation put women at risk who have had miscarriages and ectopic pregnancies, and why do abolitionists attack pro-lifers online? We cover these questions and more.

Yeah! I was going to comment about Allie having you guys on at some point and it's late and the last thing they talked about was the hate Abby got. I didn't even know she was on board when she came to our church and even still I was blown away that she is doing missions to abortionists - like the doctors who actually do these procedures. That still blows my mind... But I digress. Yeah, I'd love to see a T. Russel Hunter interview.

I’ve known him for many years and he is a very sound, God-fearing man, who’s integrity and Christian character has stood the test of time. i’ve been in this fight since the mid-80s and watched the pro-life movement barter for scraps at the governments table for much too long. There is absolutely and categorically no way around the truth and biblical soundness of Bradleys argument if one claims Christ as Lord.

First time I have ever heard the difference between abolition and pro-life explained. Very interesting to note how even the most conservative states like Arkansas only make it illegal for the hitman to kill the baby, but not for the mother to kill her own child. That's crazy. Nobody should be allowed to kill an innocent human being. Why should we make an exception for mothers to kill their own children?

I shared the gospel outside of an abortion clinic and 2 of the staff came outside and threw my gospel signs on the ground. She said "we offer the mother what she wants". There was zero accountability. She also said, " we are all saved by grace in the end" as her co-worker stuck her finger down her throat at me. My reply was that we are saved by grace ONLY IF YOU CHOOSE TO REPENT and obey the gospel. ABOLISH ABORTION in the name of Christ! God bless you.

Exactly where I was three months ago. I had great conversations with pro-life people this past weekend in a town square who had no idea that “pro-life” organizations are killing bills of abolition in conservative states. One woman’s comment word for word was “What! Why would they do that?“ I gave her some material and pointed her to look up house resolution 464 and also the letter 70+ “pro-life” organizations sent urging to kill bills of abolition at the exact time Louisiana was close to voting on a bill of abolition.

Trust me. Abolitionists don't want to be in a competition, but the pro-life movement has left them no choice. They routinely are the largest opposition to abolition bills put in in state legislatures & also routinely lie & misrepresent the abolitionist position. When that happens, they lose any moral high ground they claimed to have had. I was involved in the pro-life movement since the 90s & as much as I hate to say it, it appears its leaders would rather abortion continue than biblical justice be exacted. It has become an industry, and people's livelihoods depend upon the pro-life organizations.

The prolife movement shouldn’t oppose abolition but unfortunately it does. The leaders of the PLM are highly against abolition, which is why, as a Christian, once I learned there was an anti-abortion movement that actually obeyed God’s word and did not compromise with Child sacrifice, I knew I could never all myself “prolife” again. I actually heard a pro choicer ask a pro lifer how they think it's murder yet they don't want to punish the women. The challenge was that they really didn't think it was murder which is why they refused punishment. While I believe that the pro lifers still believed it was murder, their lack of repercussions for the mother spoke volumes and I had to agree with the pro choicer that their stance was not consistent with how we treat murder. I think they believe that the abortionist is the actual murderer. But now, many women are the only abortionists they see because they take the pills. Also, women who hire hitmen go to jail. The women hire abortionists as the hitmen.

Mother’s rights trumping children’s rights doesn’t stop at birth nowadays. ‘’Toxic mommy culture’’ is rooted in that mindset of mother’s rights trumping children’s rights and contrary to what was said 50 years ago about legalizing abortion on demand about ‘’every child being a wanted child’’ and supposedly child abuse becoming less prevalent in our society the opposite is actually true and the rates of child abuse have only increased over the past 50 years since abortion on demand became legal. Is it just because of abortion? No. It’s a whole cultural change that has caused it which is also the cultural change that led to abortion on demand. It’s the results of post modern moral relativistic nihilistic philosophy being dominant in the mindset of more and more ppl since the late 1960s

I'd argue abortion is why child abuse has become rampant. the mindset of abortion is the comodification and dehumanization of the child in question. and child abuse is simply a continued comodificarion and dehumaniztion of that child beyond pregnancy. legalizing abortion was our society embracing that mindset.

@@fireemberess it goes back even before the liberalization of abortion laws. When the colleges and universities began to teach Darwinian evolution and a higher critical view of the Bible plus Nietzschian Nihilistic philosophy in the late 19 century in America and the teachers started to be trained in those institutions and teach these things to the youth starting out in the early 20th century that’s when the break down of society began with the Modernism. The world wars pretty much destroyed modernism and post modernism replaced it and the boomers being raised in the very materialistic and prosperous post ww2 America on the child centric anti corporal punishment views of Dr. Spock then led to the boomers being the first me generation plus the anything goes sexual ethics of Alfred Kinsey coupled with chemical contraception led to the sexual revolution which all led to increased sexual promiscuity and abortion on demand and kids growing up without their fathers and all the societal ills that causes like the rise of gang and drug culture and the increase in poverty and the toxic mommy culture and the ‘’throw away kid’’ mindset

@juliewyatt7725
@juliewyatt7725 11 ай бұрын
They do know it’s human life biologically speaking. If you ask enough questions many will eventually admit the baby is human life, but that we should be able to murder them anyway. We can reveal their arbitrary standards and inconsistencies since they treat born babies differently for no reason, but that should eventually lead to the gospel. Because ultimately they need to repent of being ok with murdering babies.

Also, Elisabeth referred to Mary as Mother when Mary was only days (maybe at most a couple weeks) pregnant with "Jesus." How could Mary be a Mother if the child inside of her was not a human life? (I offer several Biblical, experiential, and scientific proofs on the humanity - the personhood - of human babies in my book, When Unborn Babies Speak.)

I usually ask those people if they also believe in a flat earth😂. It’s such gross denial of básica biology. I also argue that people once believed Black people were not human either and look how we now view those people. You know the unborn baby is a human, you just want the right to murder another human being so you can have unfettered sex.

Really helpful interview! I've been following the abolition movement for a couple months and learning about it in doses, so it was great to have everything laid out so comprehensively. Allie, what popped into my mind when you were asking the question about supporting pragmatic steps (though I think Bradley's answer was very thoughtful) were your own words: "the most loving thing you can do is agree with God." Definitely a challenging thing to think about and wrestle with how we should then live.

This is amazing! I hadn’t thought of the difference! I know that the number of coerced/forced abortions are high, and I agree with healing after abortions as many women women come to Christ in that healing. However yes, there should absolutely be consequences for all involved in hiring hitmen to murder their children deliberately. I hate how subjective the laws are on this issue. It’s refreshing to hear this from a Christian attorney who goes by God’s laws, not wishy-washy humanistic laws. ❤❤❤

I will admit that I've been guilty of being overzealous in my drive for supporting abolition. It's difficult becaue I can't understand why my whole family rejects it but they're strong believers. I switched almost immediately from pro-life to abolition, so its a struggle to hear this message rejected by them after multiple conversations and explainations, and biblical backing. I also find it hard to hear the pro-life points glorified over and over from the pulpit in my church. I know I sound snarky sometimes, and I am trying to speak with love AND in truth, but I struggle to not let my fervence turn to anger and, then sin.

Abby came to our church last year. She's a fantastic classy lady but also she is doing something else that I've never seen ANYBODY ELSE doing: reaching out to abortionists with the gospel. And as an abolitionist myself, her being an abolitionist or not, that is incredible! That is, just... I would put it as "love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you." Or when Peter, after denying Christ three times before the same people who shouted "Crucify him!", stood up and preached on Joel 2 saying "Repent and be baptized every one of you and you shall receive the gift of the Spirit for the promise is for you and your children and all who are far off - as many as the Lord our God shall call". Or how Paul preached to the prison guards... there are so many examples. The fact that she's doing that and winning their souls for the kingdom, it just reminds me of how big God is, so big that Paul the Apostle entered heaven a fellow saint to the cheers of the Christians he persecuted and murdered. It's unfathomable. He's unfathomable. And I believe she could only do this by the Spirit of God. You will know them by their fruit and the fruits of her ministry are the finest pomegranates in this country.

Abolitionists come off to pro lifers as Calvinists do to arminians. When we hold a stance that is against the majority, we tend to be more zealous and sometimes outright ungodly in our defence. That’s why many people refuse to listen to Calvinists because some of us are “cage stage” and rude and in our defending, we push the other away. There will always be some on all sides that are rude and sinful in the way they defend their view, even when their view itself is biblical, like, in my opinion, the abolitionist movement.

With regard to what Allie said about women who've repented and God has blessed them with kids, I think harsh laws like this will prevent abortions from happening. If you know that you could face prison or the death penalty, you won't be aborting. So those women wouldn't be aborting in the first place. Places with strict laws and stuff punishments don't see the kind of crime we do.

A couple of thoughts. I agree with his conclusions, but he is not an especially critical thinker. He begins his position with a foregone conclusion, and grasps pieces of support from scripture that suit him, and he uses some liberal interpretations of scripture to support his point of view. He's not horrible, but he's certainly not the iron-clad voice of reason. Also, there is a "secular" argument that indeed shoots down people who are pro-abortion, and it doesn't need to rely on scripture. Instead, it is simply this: It's always wrong to murder a human (most agree). If we are unsure if someone is technically human, we have to err of the side that they are indeed human because the possibility of human life is at stake, and that's not worth risking in cases where "science" and people are unsure.

@@buffalolifesavers Here are some important points: - most women who had abortions before Roe v Wade were married women, and most of them had born children already - the conviction of abortionists depended on the dying testimonies of women who had abortions. But most of them refused to give the name of their abortionist, even though they were dying. They wanted to protect the abortionists. - most juries refused to convict women who had abortions, even when there was ample evidence. The book is not that long, and doing your research really increases your credibility. Just because we are on the side of truth by being against abortion doesn't exempt us from studying this topic thoroughly.
