Kawagoe Day Trip from Tokyo | Underrated must-visit old Japanese town 🎏🍡

FINALLY I SAW THE MOST MARVELOUS CHERRY BLOSSOMS!!!🌸🤧
After my last failed attempt I thought that this year was a wash...thankfully we went to Kawagoe and discovered that the blossoms here were still on the trees (mostly), so we were able to see a really beautiful view~~
I really enjoyed the overall vibe of Kawagoe! It was very retro, kind of like the traditional Japan vibe with a twist. I personally am a big fan of the taisho roman aesthetic (look it up!!) so I really enjoyed that!! My main complaint with Kawagoe is that they have got to figure out how to widen the sidewalk or close that main road down on the weekend or something...felt very anti-pedestrian despite everyone literally being a pedestrian lol
Also Kawagoe is much closer to Tokyo than I thought!! A lot of express trains run between Kawagoe and Tokyo every day so you can get there in under less than hour!

I was in Kawagoe a week ago, I really enjoyed my day trip there. It was a very touristy thing to do but near the bell tower is a place to make your own chopsticks- it was a fun souvenir.

It took me nearly half a century and nearly twelve thousand miles to find my true love. I hope you find yours sooner and less distance traveled. You'll know it when time slows down to a crawl. Love your videos. We're planning a trip to Japan next year in November. Would have been this year however we already made plans to see New York City.

@@marta9854 for the past few years my wife and I have found a lot of enjoyment from going different places. We love trying the different food. We have a list of places to stop to eat at in New York. We will need a list of places for Japan that we can do in two weeks.

I like these videos as an inspiration for vacation planning. Next time we'll not be in Tokyo for long and instead focus on okinawa and Kyushu, but we were thinking of doing a day trip to the village next to Fuji you showed in a video not toooo long ago.

Oh yeah Kawagoe is definitely worth a visit 💯 I such a cute little town and I enjoyed my time there a lot. And the unagi I had there was incredibly good 🤤

I need to go back to Kawagoe - I went there last year in April with a Japanese acquaintance and it was raining really heavily all day. Personally I would have given up because it was miserable and cold, but my Japanese friend was determined that we would enjoy Kawagoe, lol. We walked the main streets and went in some shops where I was embarassed to be dripping on their floors, we also had a nice lunch in a traditional restaurant known for its grilled eel cuisine. Eventually I influenced her to return to the station where we had a much nicer time in a warm English tea shop.
