These panels are nearly perfect for the Ecoflow Delta 2 and Delta 2 Max. (slightly higher peak current would be nice to compensate for the "never get this" in the real world, but the voltage cannot change much - 60v max on those ecoflows)

In today's episode of real-world oxymorons, an enormous portable solar panel! Brought to you by the same good folks who brought you jumbo shrimp! :) Pretty impressive performance from a panel that is at least somewhat portable. I could see some RV campers using that to good effect.

LOL :) Yeah, it's a monster. When I started tying it off It gave me some ideas. You might be able to make this thing into awning with six poles, string, and tent stakes. Or even toss it up on a existing RV awning. Thanks!

used to paraglide in the past and passed so many used old wings .. never kept a single foot of paracord if that was you were trying to find.. every single buddy kept some ... now i m jealoys , a single cord can lift up to 80 kilos .... btw .. 52 volts.. i would love to see it when cloudy on my delta 2

i agree, its what is to be expected from a portable solar panel. i wonder though why they bother claiming its 600 when real world results are closer to 400-500:W:? :Its like evs that claim x miles that is never achieved in real world scenarios.

Yeah, it's that "Standard Test Conditions" that is nearly unobtainable in the real world :) This one is pretty much on par with a lot of the rigid panels I've had. I derate panels to around 80% when building a system (which like you said it's what we expect) , and this one we got over 83%. Would be cool if panel manufactures would take that extra step to test, and print some real world numbers. Or if some company would build a machine to some kind of standard that would emulate real conditions. This way all manufactures would have access to such machine, and have a level playing field with the results. Thanks Ben!

@@BradCagle The 80% de-rating strategy is a good one. I think the other question here is how well do the claims of manufacturers stack up with their claims. Clearly this folding solar panel is true to this standard testing, but they are competing against a swag of manufacturers that "diddle the numbers". To combat this, I for one, determine the area of the solar panel and calculate the efficiency required to achieve the claimed power. If it is beyond 22% I start to question their honesty and will certainly not entertain buying them. Perhaps this info maybe valuable to your viewers too when you are reviewing solar panels?

@@BenMitro That's a good idea, I should measure the area, and calculate the efficiency. Thanks, Ben!

This question is about your PEET tracker. Could I do this with a timer hooked to my same panel battery, I have a timer that can start stop for a few seconds at a time. Do maybe 5-6 or more settings with full power to the linear actuator, and maybe some reverse to go back to east, THNX

Can you run a small water pump over panels for less wattage than the improvement made to the output?
@BradCagle
@BradCagle 5 ай бұрын
Hmm, maybe. But you also would have to factor in water cost. It would evaporate quickly.

@@BradCagle Maybe a car fuel pump with 'return' might be more efficient. That's a good panel in any case given it's form factor.

The solar panel is nice, but cheap high frequency, low surge capacity, solar generator has got to go. High frequency inverters has been proven to offer short life expectancies and are not capable of starting many high inductance loads. You would be far better off connecting these awesome panels to a low frequency, transformer based solar generator.

Yeah I'm not sure we'll see an LF inverter based portable power station. Cost, and weight would the limiting factors. Maybe I'll DIY one :)
