So unfair, this is still (2023) one of the best songs in eurovision on the last decade. Wherever you are Alexandra, if you read this comment some day thanks you for this awesome performance. Those day i couldn't vote because i was very young i would had given you the twelve points from Spain. I still listen this song and being remembered through the years is the real prize

Ye same, I still listen to this (and a lot of her other songs) until now. I personally think if they have taken the french lyrics over the english this would be easy top 10. This is song in fully french is a complte masterpiece and they she performs it in her Clip on her channel is amazing!

The English lyrics killed the song completely. I heard the original version in French and it's 1000 times better and more captivating, even if I don't speak French

I'm sure with some easy changes, we could have made another top 10, very very easily : - keeping the whole song entirely in french (excepted the "tell me that you love me", if they absolutely wanted some english in the song) but keeping the revamp's instrumental that is much more epic than the original version. - some pyrotechnics effects "à la Conchita" (just like at the end of "Rise like a Phoenix") at 0:08, 2:01 and 3:02 would have made the whole performance much more epic. - tango dancers like in the videoclip during the two first verses and chorus, then they leave the stage at the end of the second chorus. It could easily have been way better.

I agree, however, the original song was completely in French but was recorded before the EBU deadline, and would have potentially been banned because of this. That's why the chorus is in English, otherwise, the song wouldn't have been allowed.

Even if I was furious against the jury this year, we should keep them, they prevented a lot of injustices in the last five years (Gabriela 0 pt with the public, Amir would have been only 9th etc...)

But I think the reason the contest is getting more and more loaded with ballads is because of the introduction of the 50/50 jury/televoting, because countries seem to believe ballads are the most jury-friendly songs, and thereby the having a better chance of making it to the final.

I disagree. There are plenty of times the jury screwed over great songs, but the same goes for the televote. For an example this year the Netherlands (5th place jury) got only 15 points from televote. From 5th to 11th.

Je suis de près l'Eurovision depuis 2019, et je viens de découvrir que cette chanson a été représentée par la France en 2017. J'ai l'habitude des lumières, des chorégraphies, des prestations incroyables. J'ai l'impression qu'il manque quelque chose dans sa prestation ! Ca a un air vide, même elle n'a pas l'air d'avoir confiance en elle.

Ma préférée était la chanson belge.... Et je ne dis pas ça car nous sommes voisins. Par contre je n'ai pas aimé le chanteur portugais, sa manière de se tenir. Je n'ai pas été touchée par sa prestation et son discours m'a semblé tellement arrogant !

En fait ce sont surtout ses mimiques qui ne m'ont pas plu, l'expression du visage plus que la façon de se tenir. J'ai trouvé qu'il en faisait trop. Mais c'est un avis personnel, et visiblement ce n'est pas partagé par la majorité. J'ai préféré l'interprétation en compagnie de sa sœur.

I visited Eurovision 2017 in Kiev - I have a lot of beautifull experiences, more photos & videos - great athmosphere - thank you very much ! :) In the grand Final most like me song of France (together with Iceland and Poland) will remind me this excelent event ! I am happy that I can saw it. :)

It should have been in full French!! because Alma's song was really good and it had a lot of charm/exotic feel to it until the english chorus ruined it

im not 100% sure but i think this song was too old when it got sent in, there is some rule that a song can only be a certain time old, and thus they had to remake it
