I got into candle making beginning of 2021. It was fun and I absolutely loved it. Along the way I lost the passion and ended up learning graphic designs and video editing. Now beginning of 2022, I am designing marketing materials for business and promoting their products lol. Funny how things turns out in one year.

No way! We thought this was the best idea as it separates everything. We have 15 pitchers that we use for our signature scents, but when we change it up we just make sure all the wax is gone and the pitcher is like new. So easy!

Didn’t know you had a yt channel until today! I’ve always wanted to ask on how you deal with tin rusting? the tins in my candle collection always rusts and I am not getting most out of the candle I bought if I don’t burn them right away. Have you had any concerns with rusting with your customers?

Would you mind sharing some tips for building an audience before launch? You mentioned PR boxes previously, I was curious if those were a major contributor to your launch success, or was it mostly from your social media presence?

Hi Michelle, thank you for the video, it has been really helpful especially for someone just starting making candles ( before launching) just wondering do you have any advise on insurance? Is it ok for you to share the links for your logo stamps,online label company, packing material and other useful suppliers that you are currently using? Will you recommend shopify or square space or? Thanks for your useful tips.

We use Shopify for our website as it seems more suited for online stores (although we switched about 4 years ago so things may have changed) square is definitely great if you’re doing markets so if you want continuity then that’s worth considering.

hey, thanks so much for sharing. Im from NZ and it can sometimes be tricky to find tips relating to this end of the globe such as the labels, wax melters etc. Im curious about whether printing own lables versus outsourcing ...which is most cost/time effective? Also which wax melter do you guys use? thanks again x

Thank you! We use a wax melter from luxury candle supplies. Also with labels I think getting them printed would be more time efficient, however cost wise, we found printing ourselves were cheaper :) hope that helps!

Hey I was just wondering how do you figure out unique scents? Or experiment with particular ones you want to put into the candles?

We plan what overall scents we want to introduce each collection and then work backwards from there to determine specific scent notes and how we can mix it. It takes a few tries to get the formula right!

Hi lovely! I would love to know what printer you use when printing your Avery labels? I currently get all of my labels printed by a commercial label printer but this is VERY expensive!!!

Hi! We use a canon mega tank, would highly recommend! It’s so efficient with ink and prints well. We looked into printing from a company as well and it was just too expensive

We are only currently doing organic marketing! Just socials, word of mouth and working with influencers to send them product. We also moved into a new space and connected with other like minded brands to share contacts and information :) That’s all we’ve done so far!

Hi! Thank you. We tested multiple suppliers until we found the one. Get samples and test them for your products. We can’t disclose our suppliers but we have both a local and overseas supplier.

@@sent.studio Oh I am a bit surprised since you showed in your video the big loss.. the tin containers are sold by various suppliers on Alibaba and I was asking for the name of the Supplier that doesn't damage the containers to save myself the same experience you went through...here in USA and Canada us Candlemakers share our successes and failures.. we try to help each other...I do recall another Australia Candle and Soap Seller's comment that she was shocked when she first began how some Makers are very Secretive.

sent is a play on the word ‘scent’, and we also wanted our customers to attach meaning to the definition of ‘sent’, being taken to a particular destination. Sent back to their memories, sent to, sent from, sent for, etc :)
