Alone in the Dark reviews are baffling | Dragon's Dogma 2 Microtransactions | 60fps v 30fps

The new ALONE IN THE DARK game is here and I've been playing it! Do review scores do more harm than good? Who should you even trust? Does 60fps matter in games, and are microtransactions in Dragon's Dogma 2 as bad as people are making them out to be? Lots to chat about.

Only in the first 5 mins but the whole 60 vs 30 debate comes down to me as more FPS is undoubtedly better, its a big reason i do play on PC. If i know a game is never coming to PC or a performance patch isn't going to be implemente, i will play it at 30fp, and i did play FF 16 at 30fps. But if there is an option, i will always play the version with the Higher FPS. It just happens PC usually allows for both Fidelity and the FPS, hence why its my primary platform these days despite PC having its own issues to deal with. Seeing Dragons Dogma 2 on ps5 in the flesh added another nail into that coffin 😂

I DO get it, totally, I suppose my things is, some performance modes on console (I don't have PC option) the performance mode will sacrifice some visual fidelity, and sometimes this even means textures and foliage along with resolution. I will always want a sharper and richer image. I prefer the ambience that sometimes comes with blur and grain akin to film over digital, and vinyl over CD!

@kdbinnit1177 yeah dude I get that as well! The reason I did play FF16 at 30fps is because the fidelity resolution drops down significantly to like 720p in battle. And I feel like it's going its going to get even tougher for console games to even retain a locked 30fps without impacting visuals so hopefully they can start to nail the upsampling technologies. Also developer optimisation helps too.

@@GoneHollowMedia yeah looks like sony and MS are going hard on the AI chips and we'll see some fidelity maintained at higher frames!.... in 2030! lol

But everyone will be complaining they aren't getting 12K 360FPs in 2030 @@kdbinnit1177 😂😂
