Nicely done! The obvious answer to your dilemma is to keep both bags; the Full for travel, the Lite for EDC. Problem solved.

That’s easy. For rucking, a Rucker. I prefer the 3.0 if you can find one but the 4.0 is reallly nice too. There’s a sale going on at GORUCK so you might score one at a great price.

So a military issue ruck sack has a frame and also has a “radio pouch” inside This pouch is up high in the pack and survived many 5 plus mile rucks with my 80 Lb sand bag that I used duck tape to make it smaller and smaller I had a sand bag that was approximately 11x8x4 and weighed 80lbs The metal frame keeps the ruck off your back and you won’t be getting the sweaty back as bad Heat bumps are a problem when wearing something and sweating profusely, sweat has no where to go and causes itchy red bumps, flak jacket made this issue terrible in Iraq around the chest area. I learned during my first 12 mile ruck run when I weighed only 130lbs! That I not only got a second wind but a 3rd, 4th, 5th and even a 6th wind I used the forest gump quote “I made it this far… I figured I’d just keep on going” Got me through way more than I could ever imagine lol

I don't have an experience with the ripstop versions. It comes to down to appearance with that fabric IMHO

Is the 1050D Ballistic Nylon more prone to eat up your shirts? I heard / read that from others when reviewing various backpacks, and materials that might make more sense for an EDC bag. Thanks.

Ballistic Nylon is a lot smoother compared to 1000D cordura. Ballistic is a great option if you’re concerned about that. I personally have not had any problems. With either

After a year of owning the lite I wish I would have gotten the full. I didn’t need the laptop sleeve at the time but I definitely do now. Heavy as heck though.

I recently bought an evade 2.0. first time picking it up at the post office I thought the previous owner left his entire edc in it. Turns out if was heavy as hell even when empty.

Hi ! Please I really need an answer.. I’m going for a world tour soon, and this will be my edc backpack (hiking, bushcraft, visiting, etc etc etc ). Do you think I should take the 500D or 1050 ? I’m looking to gain weight but I need something resistant too… THANKS A LOT 🤜🏼🤛🏼

Tough one Dylan. I don't have a Gamut yet and it looks awesome. I have a Vertx range bag and love it. The Gamut looks a little to weapons-focused for my daily use.

That's a good point and it's a consideration for sure. For someone who uses it to just transport stuff from house to car and not actually carry it on their back for distance it's not a big deal IMHO.

I carry the 1.5 Full fully loaded, on my back, almost everywhere I go, and I do not notice the weight.

@@uyt6uyt5 i guess they have good weight distribution then…I have a heavier tennis bag which is heavy on hand but feels great on the back too so I could understand that. Nevertheless because I’m tiny and don’t carry any heavy gear, every bit above 1kg is a trade off for me…otherwise the full would’ve been great for my preferences.

@@donkeybro6368 I am small as well, but for me there is no trade-off. This bag is heavier for the right reasons: sturdier construction, added features and exceptional versatility. Yet, the carrying system is so effective that I absolutely do not notice the extra weight, even though I carry a significant amount of stuff all day. If, by chance, you do give it a try, I am curious how it works for you. For me, the search for that "perfect" pack ends with this one. Sorry if my reply sounds like a promotional piece.
