Current? - RODE NT1 XLR with a scarelet solo 2nd gen and Bose noise cancelling headphones (do not recommend for PC gaming) Dream - Shure SM7B. That's really all I would want to change at the moment even though the NT1 is freaking great!

As long as you have a really good recording environment you can get away with an ok mic.... But you going to have the best mic in the world but record in an echoey basement with the AC going... Honey good luck. People need to talk about the recording environment... That is the most important part of any setup.

Let's not forget that he is speaking of a professional use. There's nothing wrong using a 70$ USB-Mic (I do...) when your audience will listen via phone/laptop speakers. If you're singing, speaking professionally etc. then gor for XLR! Get that control! If you're gaming or whatever just leave it for now. Invest in lighting, camera, comfort or a coffee machine.

I just bought myself the blue yeit nano to start my streaming career. I wanted something simple and easy to use. I understand there's some downsides to using a USB condenser mic like picking up background noises like keyboard clicks but the ease of use for me personally is just too appealing. Its small, simple and will still give me amazing audio quality for what it is.

Jempanada stick with the snowball for a while, only time it’s really worth it to upgrade your mic is when you are pretty much doing streaming for a living, even a mic on a headset is good enough to stream. Better to spend that money on a pc upgrade, or some lighting and acoustic foam.
@jackamtg
@jackamtg 5 жыл бұрын
@@hoss7065 +1 for the acoustic foam. Lots of people want to spend tons of money on gear, but if your recording environment is bad, then you're not going to get good audio. That being said, and upgrade to an SM58 or ATR 2100 would be good. In fact, and ATR2100 would be a really good option for someone without an audio interface because it's USB and XLR

Something not touched on: you can have a quality signal chain. But if the room that you are in sounds terrible. You get a wonderful and accurate recording of you sounding terrible. There are ways to mitigate a bad sounding room and there are ways to improve the quality of the room. But buying better equipment doesn't fix sound problems.

The $32 Mike seems like a massive Improvement to the headset mic. Or should I use a throwaway USB mic like your starter Samsung? Or should I considering a dynamic mic for KZfaq recordings. I do not have a recording studio so there is some switch fan another computer fans in the room for noise. I can link to the videos I recorded so far if that's helpful

For the price and will hook into a good seat of headphones like the Phillips 9500 I’d get a boom mic pro the sound quality is great are as good as the usb condenser mics if you want pro sound then get a audio interface for about $100 and a good condenser microphone for another $100 or your budget and you will have as good of audio quality as possible that route but another think with xlr and instrument cables get quality cables they are as important as the microphone cheap xlr condenser mics sound great as long as there going through good cables and remember itll be tweakable in your eQ settings then add a touch of reverb add a compresser and Limiter to get rid of unwanted frequencies and boom you can sound like a legend . I just would skip the high dollar usb mics and suffice with a good quality mic like the Vmoda one I’m talking about in most your recording software you will be able to tweak your microphone channel and get decent KZfaq video sound with a $30.00 headphone mic....

Nonthing he said makes sense, you are better ignoring most of the stuff he said and actually go to an audio youtube, the whole "is more expensive, its better" from this guy is completelytrivial, and he keeps showing multi channel mixers that makes no sense if you plan to only use a single microphone, and in the end, he didnt even showed the yeti, wich makes no sense since it just plug-and-play. This guy keeps saying on every one of his videos that you have to use a "thing" with "tons of knobs" and other complex features, it just makes no sense, you dont have to get any of that, even a Zoom audio interface is enought for your XLR microphone.

I know most folks probably listen to KZfaq videos with either headphones, or perhaps with speakers on a PC (or built in laptop). I just listened to your video in my car (most of my YT experience is actually listening while commuting to/from work). I can say the Quadcast sounds irritatingly loud with your "S"es in particular (but that high pitch tinny ring is ambient almost the whole time), and I concur the other mic sounds flatter. I'm no audiophile and my car isn't the best setup ever, but it was definitely noticable. Anyway, never watched/listened to you before, but I dig your style so to speak. Not sure if this vid is a one off from normal content, but I'm gonna sub anyway. Also, Japan is awesome! Take advantage of your time there. I was there for 3 years for work, and wish I had taken more vacation time to explore on my own. Have fun and thanks for the vid!

Parazijo what do you mean elaborate???? If your preamp sucks but you have a good a-d converter and mic, audio will still sound bad. If a link of the chain is weak, the chain will snap, even if the other links are weak

Awesome video Harris 😁 personally I definitely think the Ember sounds the best of the two - to me the Ember sounds much fuller and much more natural. For the record, I'm currently listening to this video through a set of Bang & Olufsen Beoplay H6 2nd generation headphones.

Memes aside you gain a little more quality compressing the audio levels before it's converted to digit so his mixer of choice is ideal for live audio. Unless you are using rtx voice which is amazing for removing background noise (although lately it's been buggy for me which tbf unstability is a bad thing for live audio)
