Big thanks to Mimo for lending in this value packed true gmt Alpina. Use “alpi30” for discount code when ordering, doesn’t hurt to tell Mimo I sent you too. ;) mimosjewelry.com/collections/...

I often travel to Europe for business. This is my watch of choice. It wears well for all occasions. I went with the blue dial and while in Spain, I had some cordovan straps made for a perfect fit. I highly recommend Alpina to your viewers. 👍😀

Great eclectic choices Rob! 1960s vibe. Reminds me of my vintage super compressor but with a true GMT movement. Missed out on the last Borealis you showed Dang! But thanks for the heads up ,put down on the new pre-order. Keep on trucking.

I really like my Alpina Startimer Pilot. I didn't realize how much I enjoy a watch that is easy to read until I got this one. Nice Review!

Seriously, very nice watch. Love the caseback and the flat outer number ring.

Nice vintage style watch and very interesting way of executing a GMT. Alpina seems to be a brand that flies under the radar. Glad they are getting more attention. Idefinitely have plans to get an Alpina down the road.

Nice looking watch, the cushion case is quite retro! A real different looking GMT option.

This watch would look like a watch from the Gods with an all steel bracelet. The case is so beautifully designed and built in a 70s retro style it almost overwhelms the leather strap, as nice as it is.

What a great watch! I love the size. Reminds me of my Oris Chronoris Date with two crowns same way. The oris also has a 19mm lug width. Weird non-standard size on that too.

It looks similar to the Glycine Airman SST12 this one looks a little more premium while the Glycine looks a little more old-school

Very odd! The model numerals start out as 555.....wait, is this a movie?

Some incorrect information in this video. The date does not change over with the central hour hand. It is connected/slaved to the central GMT disc. When the GMT disc hits midnight then the date will change over. The Alpina Alpiner 4 GMT also functions in the same way. IMO, that's a deal breaker for me. The date should have been connected to the central hour hand, like a normal GMT watch

Unless you're actually a pilot using this pilot watch as it should be and you're filling in your flight plans using UTC time and date then it's pretty much perfect for what it's designed for. You won't accidentally get the UTC date wrong.

Yep 23mm is a non starter for me. Too bad because it’s an attractive watch and not another diver.

Is Alpina a Swatch group company??? Using a sellita movement, you'd think they'd be using an ETA

Frustrating that the date jumps with the jump hour. If you need to jump back a few hours, you have to go past 12 and jump the date, then turn the crown and cycle the dates. That said, its your only option for a travel GMT under $2k. just wish the hour jumped in both directions.
@liadijkstra96145 жыл бұрын
I believe they made the module for the gmt themselves and put it on the sellita movement
