I adore this watch. So glad it's a 44-45mm and not smaller.

Almost bought this for myself Christmas 2017. Wish it was smaller. Don't hear too much on Alpina in the youtube watch community. Glad to see they seem to be gaining attention recently.

That watch is honestly beautiful. Would definitely consider it if it was up to 43mm max.

I just bought a deep blue all I had to do was micro adjustment I didn’t even have to remove any links so that would be a good watch for me though that size is really good for me.

I agree with you Rob, 40 or 41 mm, I would buy in a flash. It would have most other watches beat by a mile.

I have the sea strong Alpina 300 and I am blown away by how high quality it looks. honestly it looks just as good as many high end watches out there . I liked it so much I have a Alpina regulator on the mail. looking forward to it.

Pretty watch. Although a tad too big, but beautiful... wish they were a tad smaller. This is a beautifully finished watch.

Awaiting the 'poor' man's GMT Bezel variant, so I am excited that this is receiving such rave reviews. Just wanted to comment on what Rob mentioned about larger wrists. Mine is 7.5". All this current trend of going smaller is frustrating to guys like me. Unless it's like Nodus offerings--13+mm thick, 49-50mm L2L, and narrow bezels-- I can't wear the 38-41mm Divers. Zodiac Super Sea Wolf 53?? Nope. Oris 65?? Nope. Thankfully, Oris, Longines, Omega, and some others make varying sizes--at least guys with 6.5" wrists can wear the Unisex offerings, and even female offerings that look like Men's, even if only touted as a woman's watch. Guys with Bigger wrists?? There isn't Ape size, or uni-species offerings, so it's nice having a 43-45mm option available.

Really nice watch but as you said, it should be in 40-41 mm range. And if they would offer one without day window it would look even better.

I’m not crazy about the logo font but that’s such a small nitpick. Otherwise, this is a fantastic looking watch. I would definitely go for the bracelet version, as I always do. It’s larger than any of the other watches I’ve owned but I do have a 7.75” - 8” wrist so I’m sure I would be able to pull it off. Lately I have had a preference for 40-41’s but I might need to make an exception for this watch.

i like the lugs too ... which resemble those of Phoibos Reef Master 😅

At least the simple dial offsets the large case size. But not too large for me.

Three deal breakers on this watch are the band, the 100m water resist and the movement for this price. These can be found on the grey market for much less than retail.

I‘m hoping for smaller Alpina watch cases for years! But they are behind the mountains and didn‘t recognize the demand.

Awesome watch. Fit and finish for the price is amazing. Just too big for me though. I bought a Farer Charlton instead. 41-42 it would kill the activity watch space

It was nice to hear you compare the frustration of people with small wrists looking for small watches, to the annoyance of everything looking tiny on my 8" wrist. This watch is gorgeous, hoping to make one of these a part of my collection.

They just announced a 42 mm Alpiner at Baselworld 2019, although it's a quartz and does not have a functional bezel. It is a beautiful watch though, and I wish it was auto and 38 mm.

Wears more like a 42mm, glad I added it to the collection, agree with your interpretation the finishing and dial are fantastic

So I can deal with 42 mm being one of the biggest size case and I love Alpina watches and their design but good gosh can they make a little bit of a smaller case

Great review, that is a great look watch. Like a few different models in the Alpina range.

Given that some high end watches come in two sizes, I can only conclude that for most makers, large is what sells. Collectors are truly in the minority, and really, it's the same for every hobby in existence. We obsess because _we give a damn._

Hello, do you think this is the best offering from Alpina, in terms of value?

I've heard from other collectors that Alpina are notorious for having issues with their movements and that most watchmakers can't service them or find parts. If the watch stops working you have to send it in direct (to Alpina) and basically it is a 2-4 month turnaround to get it back. I guess that is partly why their resale value is so horrendous. Wondering since they are selling these does Mimo service/fix them as well or would they just send it off to Alpina if issues arise?

Rob you should review some classic seikos - such as the Seahorse, Lord Marvel, LM, other handwound such as the 6602 8070 - not many people are reviewing these high quality beautiful items which are available for bargains - I mention this as many resemble the classic lines of this overpriced piece of crap
