Excellent. This is how to present a tuition video. No 'wassup', minimal preamble, clear and methodical - thanks for posting.

Yes, I think the maker of the video should grasp that most people watching the video has a good basic understanding of how chords work up and down the fret board.

I really wanna know which bridge pins and why this teacher put this way. I guess it's brass for bass ones and ebony/plastic for treble ones? Does he believe that each pin affects each particular string? Or do they balance the whole sound? Or is it just for the great look? And what is the nut material? Is it TUSQ? Doesn't seem like a bone to me.

I would love to explore this tuning in more detailed, comprehensive way...maybe like a very structured course on dadgad fingerstyle blues/jazz/classical, etc...maybe learn to compose in this tuning...any suggestions?

Thanks Justin, I'm looking for this course in your Jam Play list, but I can't find it. It is just exactly what I need to learn! Is it still offered? I also have a question. I've been using a tuning where I tune both E strings down to D. Is that a conventional tuning, and do you cover it? Example: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/rbl_fNte2Zmqcp8.html Thanks

Wow, DADGAD demystified. DADGAD open sounds like a standard Dsus4. I figured out that a standard E9th is E7 in DADGAD. To get a 9th from there just add your pinky to the 2nd string two frets up. I also find myself playing Norwegian Wood easily in this tuning.

It does look grotesque, but is necessary in playing certain styles. I just hope he keeps that thing clean. I'd hate for someone to get lockjaw because they didn't get their shots. 😜

I tuned to dadgad the other day, it sounded horrible, trying to play standard tuning chords…sort of stumbled onto this, and it sounded like Chinese! Why do you have to know so much, or be so experienced on guitar to play in another tuning? 🤦

CHUPASART 34 A bit of advice, take it or leave it: if you don’t understand an explanation, go and research unfamiliar terms and concepts, then listen to the explanation again. If it still doesn’t make complete sense, try the parts that do, and perhaps more of the explanation will make sense tomorrow. If none of these help, try asking questions to fill in the gaps in your knowledge and understanding. Had you done all that, you are guaranteed to have learnt at least something from this. What have you achieved from criticising and implying that you are bored (“Zzz”)? The impression that leaves to everyone else is one of a lazy student, not a bad teacher. I wish you all the best in your future musical studies.
