What is DADGAD tuning?
DADGAD tuning is a popular alternative tuning that offers a rich and exotic sound.This distinctive arrangement creates a droning and open sound, with rich harmonies and resonant chords. DADGAD tuning is particularly favored by folk, Celtic, and world music guitarists, as it allows for unique chord voicings and melodic possibilities. The lower four strings are exactly the same as drop-D tuning, and the top two are simply lowered by a whole step. This makes it a great first step into the world of alternate tunings.

You should also mention that one of the big advantages to the partial capo "hack" is that all your upper closed chords and scale shapes above the capo are unchanged from standard tuning. So you can get those unique DADGAD-sounding open chords but also jam out without having to re-think the whole fretboard.

Love and adore DADGAD but it seems for finger-pickers. Got a touch of arthritis and I'm a lead guitar player, blues, jazz and rock. Guess I'll just listen.

Where exactly is that "HACK" ? An introduction to the basics,yes. Doesn't really count as a hack.....

"Hacking". Why do people keep using a word that's only associated with computers other everyday things??? the guy is just giving us some very good tips that's it! 🙄🙄🙄
