Pretty cool techniques. That said: DUDE get a mill, it will open up so many possibilities and you wont regret it. The benchtop precision matthews machines are great.

These tables look rad, and that painter's tape trick to allow for a finish pass on the chamfers is great tip. Nicely done Tyler!

If it comes out of a plate, you're paying for the drops too. Make the legs as skinny as you want but you will need the same size plate to cut them out of.

I just did a fairly complex project that required routing aluminium. I wish I knew that tip to clean up the surface. That was excellent!!. Also loved your use of the wedges and peening the surface over. Welding isn't always the only option!!

Absolutely amazing work Tyler! Subscribed to you after your collab with Alec and ive basicly binge watched like all of your videos right after :) I really like this aluminum design, its elegant, modern and shapeable by woodworking tools which makes it accessible to everybody out there (in theory.. at least)

If you could hydroform metal pillows or a metal ottoman stool, that would be awesome! I think if you weld up (and later cut out) a frame, it would limit where the metal expands, leading to a pillow-like quality. Who wouldn't want a metal pillow?!

Would be interesting to see if you could do it with out the laser cutting and of so how much it would drop the cost as they are some amazing looking tables well done

Those tables look remarkable; especially the brass wedges working as an accent. But what I really liked was how you challenged yourself with new skills and the way you tested out your new techniques. P.S. I'm curious if there are others like me who want to know more about what you learned from those test articles.

For this technique, a good future project might be kinematic art. At $600 for just the starting materials, a piece of moving art might be easier to sell than a small table. A few web searches on kinematic art should bring up several good hits, but I suggest also looking up the arcade machines by Tim Hunkin, and the long history of novelty clocks.

Would have been cool to leave the joint metal aluminium and the brass wedge's long and used a TIG welder to make an alloy and then sanded it all flush, might have had to used copper.

i think you should split the leg pieces into 3 parts, then using wedges like on the top to assemble them because this design is very wasteful on raw material
