Wow Man! thanks so much for putting this together. I actually have a spreadsheet on SS conical fermenters that I just spent several hours making today - then I found this! so much bet ter than mine. 🤣 THANK YOU

Thanks for going through all these different SS fermenter options. Just a quick comment regarding the fermenters that you have listed as Cooling Only, such as the Blichman G4. It depends on what the device providing temperature control is capable of doing. My glycol chiller can provide heating as well.

Great video, I was just about to buy the Grainfather GF30 and was looking at reviews when this video popped up. You saved me almost £400. Here in UK I only needed a heating option so the bucket buddy was perfect. Got it for £155 with a free jacket. So big thank you. New subscriber 👍

Your list is a great resource. I can vouch for the The FermTank, the SS Chronical Fermenter (14 gallon), and the SS Chronical Brewmaster Fermenter (Half Barrel) having owned and used all three. The Ferm Tank was a gateway-fermenter!

Great vid! I have the flex plus and have been happy with it. I also ferment in a 15gal sanke keg using the kegland sanke keg --> ball lock adapter and a bowtie spunding valve for pressure fermentation up to 10gallons. I use a floating dip tube in the sanke keg setup to avoid pulling yeast when i'm pressure transferring to a keg. Both have served me well.

Thanks for this video and Excel sheet. However, should the low-budget fermenter Best Value be the Anvil Crucible instead of the Anvil Foundry, as this is an AIO system?

There's a couple at both ends of the price range you may want to add to the list. The Anvil Bucket Ferementer is "coned" bottom - so may not pass the conical criteria. But with temp control it's probably 40% cheaper than the Spike or SS buckets with temp control. And then at the opposite end of the price spectrum is the Brewers Hardware Jacketed Conical Fermentor. And a late edit: Stout Tanks also has some homebrew sized options.

Hi, these are cheap options in the UK available on eBay . Be careful as there are two types available one with yeast valve and one without, they are being sold by two different suppliers but at the same price. they are selling at £188.00 with a discount the more you buy. they are Klarstein Gärkeller Pro Fermentation Kettle 30 Litres Yeast Valve. No heat, no cooling but my brew room is at correct temp so no problem for me. It will fit in a small fridge. Hope this helps

Most of these are unavailailable in EU. We have an option for Brewtools unitanks, that are jaketed for glycol and have sanitary heating element as a n option, but those are crazy expensive. Few F80, F100 and F150 unitanks and glycol chiller would sure kick off nano brewery in my garage.

Hey Roop, so if your just focused on getting the most of fermentation the type of fermenter is not really going to make a large impact. That's going to really be determined on your original gravity and how much yeast your pitching. If your asking about fermenters that would create a healthy environment for fermentation all the stainless steel options should be fine, I would just add some temperature control options to make sure the yeast are happy and working efficiently.

Great video Matt! I have the Spike CF15 and love it. You're right, Spike likes accessories. I'm addicted to buying accessories for it... BRB, I gotta go sell one of my kidneys.
