The other car was indeed speeding, and with the roadlaws in Germany, if you go to fast even if you have the right of way, it's your fault if you get into accident.

Yeah. The car coming from the right has the priority to drive which is why in this intersection both cars should've slowed down in order to check if there was anything coming from the right side. Steve is mainly responsible for the crash, because there actually was a car coming from the right. The blue car is partly responsible because he did not slow down so that he could check if there was a car coming from the right. I think the police said it this way and the insurances are going to pay that way.

Well, having right of way doesnt mean you can drive trough a residential area like a low altitude fighter yet. By law you have to slow down at an unmarked intersection even if you can see that there's no one coming that you have to give right of way to. Not doing so is called "Fahrlässigkeit" and that shit can make you responsible for murder in certain scenarios. I m not saying that the guys arent at fault at all but the (german) driver should know the rules and act accordingly

Damn, Germany, let me introduce you to the four-way stop. The autobahn is superior, but when it comes to slower moving traffic, in my opinion, you need improvement.

Stop sign means complete stop. And yes in europe if there is no triangle for other lanes which means they must yield to others, then you always yield to the right. Very simple and fast way to move without being stuck forever.

In the US (for example) you never can be sure who's going first, when you arrive nearly at the same time at crossroads. (But what I love in the states is that you can turn right on red lights, that's just efficient. I miss that often in Germany. :)

No in Germany it's always that people who come from the right drive first (At least on crossing with no street signs that tell you differently). But you also learn in driving school that you still have to slow down and even stop at some spots to check first. But you could also clearly see that the other guy went way to fast in a residential area

Decommissioned American cold-war eavesdropping site on Teufelsberg, an artificial hill made from war rubble (!). Last time I looked the tower proper was closed off though for safety reasons. Bummer, the enclosed top was really an amazing experience. The overall site is very cool though, well worth a visit if you like that kind of squatter/anarchist/off art. Plus it's located in Grunewald forest, always good for a recreational day out.
