This is Part 2 of my journey learning how to ride an Electric Unicycle. In this video, I've documented my progression from an ok-ish beginner who was getting comfortable on my InMotion V11, to a more intermediate rider on a Begode Master that I probably shouldn't have purchased! I've got a messed up ankle and my poor Master is no longer with us... sniffles!

There is no age limit. I started when I was 82 when I got my Inmotion v10F. Loving it. It is like skiing. Freedom and speed. It will take me up to 25 mph. It is stable. I ride my EUC and my sons ride their bikes. Great fun day. Am still riding at 85. The big risk is getting to comfortable with speed. Be safe and be smart. Marv

Wow, that’s inspirational. I’m 73, and have been lately consuming lots of vids on EUCs, and so thinking seriously of learning/buying one. My New Year’s resolution is to get going on this idea. My Son says to go for it Dad. Ha - can’t wait to get one. Seems to me so far the KS S18 might be the one to buy as well as Power Pads too? Cheers.

Don't know about any1, but U can do anything U want @ any age. Having fun has no age limits. Whether it's EUC, or kayaking, or just fishing & golf, every1 can fun @ any age. 4 some ppl, it's eating & drinking new dishes. Don't let age discourage U from trying new things. Thx 4 sharing on Utube.

I'm a 40 year old rider female rider and I weigh 150lbs. I went from the V11 to the EX20s that weighs 108lbs. I got into a serious accident on it and was on crutches for 6 weeks but I'm back on it again. The master has similar dimensions to the EX20s (it is a fat wheel), so there's a different style to riding it compared to the V11. You really have to manhandle the wheel by throwing your entire body around. I'm used to the wheel now after 2500 miles. I'm wishing you a speedy recovery... Sincerely. I know your pain!

I'm a 72 year old beginner. I couldn't be happier with my King Song S22 Pro. Whenever possible I take the hound out for a run, but these days he cannot keep up because of range and speed.

I just got an OG Sherman, and at 42, I have no clue what I'm doing. I know this isn't the model to learn on, but it was also $1,000. Originally, I ordered an Esk8 Renegade, but after just two minutes with the Sherman, I was completely captivated, and it owned me lol. Right now, I feel more wobbly than anything I have a sciatica issue. I see how this brings joy to so many people. As a disabled veteran, I hope I can master this and bring some freedom back into my life-and maybe get in shape, too!

Put in the time, and you'll get it. The wobbles will go away as your stabilizer muscles develop. Keeping relaxed (easier said than done while learning) also helps keep the wobbles minimal. Gear up, speed down... progress! Let us know how it goes!

44 started riding apr 24 2023 almost 3k miles, Riding an ( Euc Specifically, not talking about other electric vehicles) in many cities or towns is a real cheat code for transportation and saving or making money.

They say good balance is one of the keys to living longer. I just learned to ride at 50, and im in much better shape than when I started. My ribs are cracked atm, but I should be better by next week. Rock on Man💯

I've heard that also. I have balance issues from a head injury, and I'm surprised it doesn't affect me nearly as much when I'm on a Onewheel or EUC.

53 and have been riding for 7 years. Started with a Ninebot then a KS18 & KS18s and now I’m on the most reliable and heaviest wheel of them all previously, the Sherman S. Got to say Leaperkim has the safest programming and innovative designs out there the quality is the best I have found so far and am a fan of their products. If I were in your similar position I would look into the Veteran Lynx. Has all the power plus of the master with the product reliability and construction consistency of Leaperkim. Good Wheeling!

50yr old here, been learning on the v5! Finally figured it out a few days ago after lots of hopping around on one foot! I was almost about to give up but so glad I didn’t! I have had electric skateboard, scooters and e-bike. Also a Onewheel but none of them compare to the feeling you get on an EUC! That’s just my opinion! Great video 👍

I'm 48 and learning to ride a veteran sherman (it was very cheap and bought before they stared cutting out, but has had a pre-emptive fix). Its heavy and I find the hardest part is strain on the lower back and endurance. I'm hoping this will get easier as I relax into it and get some miles under my belt. I've had 4 speed wobble crashes and all the time bmxing back in the day and judo lessons meant just a few scrapes and bruises but riding without protective kit is a no-no and warming up is something I need to be disciplined at. All that said I hope to be riding for some time to come and I hope I'll be around long enough to see the crazy prices drop from their current crazy high, which has prevented me getting something with suspension (which would be nice). Great to see content like this though...

Relaxing helps the strain, and it also keeps wobbles minimal. I've recently figured out seated riding pretty well and that's a whole new level of easy cruising. ATGATT! Glad you are riding!

In the S22’s manual there’s a guy riding with a circle and the number 50, indicating 50 years old, with a slash through it. I thought, “yeah right”. I take that thing to the horse trails down by the river, with jumps and all. Try and stop me.

I'm 61 and am loving my S22 non pro with nearly 6000 km on it. I spend most of my time on the mountain bike tracks. These are steep and rocky. The S22 seems to be a perfect fit. Enough grunt and speed without being too heavy. Fast enough for me and agile enough in the tight turns. The operator is the main limit. I don't bounce as well as i used to do so I know what it's like waiting for things to heal 👍

I'm riding the begode T4. I started with easy trail first, work my way up to harder trails. Just gotta keep riding and you'll get it. You'll have falls and pedal clip but keep at it you'll get better. Always watch where you're going. Always wear your safety gear 👍🏽🖖🏾🤙🏾

I’m 53 and had an 😮Inmotion V5F, then upgraded to Inmotion v8s; took me weeks to learn how to ride forward and same amount of time to learn how to ride backwards. I mostly like riding backwards now; I keep my speed to under 10-mph. If I want to go faster, I get on the Kaabo wolf king GT. all these cool toys that just wasn’t available in the 70’s; I have a Inmotion v14 on order; got into a similar accident 3 weeks ago - my ankle (just swollen) - was riding backwards and a dog that was on a leash grabbed my ankle and pulled me down …lady was saying repeatedly ‘are you alight?’ After sitting on the ground for a minute, just got back up and continued my backwards journey with ankle in pain …didn’t say a word to the lady … you just never know how you gonna to fall … get well soon

I started riding just over a year ago at 55 and I'm loving my S18 and V12HS. It appears that to me that more older people are drawn to EUC's than younger. I guess it's the technology that GEN X has been waiting for since the 80's and 90's?

Dude when I saw him lifting that log on the before I was like damn. Isn’t he already skilled at ridng that already? I’m so nervous in getting a wheel and still in the process of saving up as well. But I want something I can sit on. And fast torque and can make turns easy but reliably

The log was admittedly a dumb idea. Too heavy to carry very far and I failed terribly at towing it with the EUC. Didn't bother showing that part!

I'm 72 as well and have an Inmotion v12HT. Love it and rode as much as I can. Only one incident where it cut out and dumped me. Was only going about 10 mh and was ar and of ride in 28 degree weather. Scary but have all the gear and only got a bruise on my hip

I've pretty much sworn off getting another Begode wheel after mine mysteriously cut out on me while I was cruising at 19mph.

I'm 44, living in Australia. The price of the V11 starts at $3500 the Master V4 Race (50S) model is $3600. The master pro is a massive price jump to $6900 🤯. A massive cost to take into consideration before buying a unicycle. I want the V11 then friends are saying get the V14 😂. I was about to buy the V11 last week. And of course my gear box broke in my car 😂.I like your channel cause you tell the good bad and ugly about unicycles.

Tell me! I'm five and a half months post ankle injury now and still can't walk without some pain. Not sure what would happen if I had to step off the wheel unprepared. I thought I'd have another video put together long before now.

Thats funny .... my girlfriend and her daughter both call my Master my midlife crisis HAHAHAHA Change that CST tire out....its crap. A shinko 244 or 241 would be great. The 244 you MAY have to shim the battery packs to have clearance but it is a great 50/50 tire. Its what I have on mine. You can 3D print shims (files are free on the internet) originally I stacked up 2 #10 washers under each battery pack screw and that worked fine. I did a video on it. It can be different from wheel to wheel. Some people had no need to shim....others will need more clearance on one side but not the other. Its a begode thing hahaha and im basing this assessment on batch 1 and 2 wheels. The newer masters may not even have the issue. You get used to the weight. I love mine .... If AR replaces your burnt up Master and you decide to keep it (I would ) keep at it. The tire change will make turning MUCH easier. The stock CST tire that came on mine is real boxy and ether wants to pull you up when you lean into a turn or it feels like it wants to drop you because your ridding that tire edge.

I did end up with a replacement Master and I opted for the Michelin street tire. I've just started getting on it this past week and I'm trying to remember how to ride. I'm pretty sure I couldn't pull off that hill climb on the street tire!

@@MaynardsMidlifeCrisis you would be surprised what you can do.....even with a street tire. Personally I dont like the street tires for EUCs but I live in NH and ride all year. I also like hitting the trails so it makes sense for me to have the 50/50 tire. If your still using the stock charger for the Master .... I have a video on how to calibrate it to make sure your charging to 134.4v to Keep them packs balanced.

Short answer, 'no'. I did not hear/see what your age is, but you look < 60. I'm in my mid-60's (midllife crisis has come and gone) and it's been a slow process, but my skill level continues to increase and I still love it even after years of riding. And yes, I still get banged up once in a while, but much less than several years ago.

Yes it did, mostly because it was a very small fracture, and the bone did not disalign. It was due to a fall going about 25 mph, tried to look back while riding and lost balance.

48+ still its my main commuter to work. Rain, snow does not matter. Skipped only 3 work days in this winter because of not cleaned bike pavements in my citty, as "rodeo" on compressed snow is sometimes too much for me :) Suspension is realy matters on this

I've wanted to try riding on snow this winter, but I messed up my ankle in November and haven't been back on the wheel yet. Starting again on snow seems like a pretty bad idea.

I don't have any inside armor. Just Knees, elbows, wrists and helmet. I hope to change that soon. I do wear a light backpack for a little back protection sometimes also.

So far, I'm not doing the best at being safe. I like riding on the edge a little too much. I think another couple of weeks and I should be riding (carefully?) again.

You’re only too old if you do not ride, ergo all riders are young. Experience takes me a little bit on the safer side, so I am not as quick to learn as some but I am having tons of fun on my master.

I was on a pretty technical trail and clipped a pedal. Wheel went sideways, body went over the top. Twisted in a manner ankles weren't designed for!

Do you have kids or other dependents? How good is your medical insurance? Do you have a job that can survive an unexpected, extended LOA? Can you afford to financially compensate for someone or something that stops a run-away 125lb object traveling at 40 mph? Are you willing to pay $2500 to repair a $4000 EUC (or the ability to lose that 4k investment, instantly at anytime?) Have you ever sustained a personal life changing injury? Are you willing to live w this? Is your significant other willing to? How will your career be affected by a loss of function? These are serious questions any adult should ask themselves before succumbing to the dream of solo flight. If youre not an adult, you can just "go for it, dude"

I'm 52, living with much lingering trouble from a traumatic brain injury 12 years ago. We've survived so far, and honestly these wheels are a type of therapy that I need almost as much as air. We're all wired a bit differently.

U must have never rode these as by your message I can tell you havent and have no clue how safe they are with proper gear & like anything in life there is RISK.. go drive to work & you can get killed, we are all going to die but it is how you live that matters.. & with safety gear & know what you are doing the new wheel are super safe like the veteran Lynx i just purchased... I have 3 that are all amazing and I ride smart and wouldnt dream of not riding one. You are the one missing out ono a new way to reimagine how you travel.... enjoy life & be happy for those that do. Good Day P.S. I am 51 yrs old & ride everyday ... it has made my life so much more fulfilling & you need to learn. You will thank me and see how safe they are. Veteram are better thAN BEGODE FOR SAFETY what he was riding. I own one of Begode, the ex-30 & a Kingsong s22 & my new Veteran Lynx

I bought my first EUC, an MCM5, on my 50th birthday from there, V11,Master(s),EX30, Extreme... I've been racing with my son in pro class events across the country and keeping up. So no, you're not too old. Keep challenging yourself and attend any events near you. Good luck! @Senior_e_moment

Woah! The thought of racing is intriguing, but probably not in the cards for me at my weight. Nevermind that riding on the edge of cutout is not really something I want to do at this point.
